Memo to Nine promotions

Last night's episode of Moonlight was promoted as a "New Series." Rubbish.

moonlightSometimes television networks are known for getting a little carried away with their promotions.

Last night Nine branded an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm as The Seinfeld Reunion. But the extensions of truth didn’t end there.

An episode of Moonlight was promoted as a “New Series.”

Rubbish.

“Fleur de Lis” is Episode Nine of the one and only 16 episode series.

All Nine did was pick up where it left off in January 2008 when it stopped the season mid-series.

There was no second series.

Nine would do well to realise the audience for a show like Moonlight is savvy enough to know more about the show than promotions team trying to bluff its way around a ludicrous programming decision.

  1. TEN did this last Friday16th They had promoted the Spearman experiment to be new cartoons versus the old, instead they aired the episode Weird, True and Freaky, which aired on Tuesday6th. This week their promotion was the same, only the guy said something like now 7:30 Friday. I suggest they actually not promote a new ep if they have little or no intention of airing it. And by the way nine why is Hey Hey Reunion part II put on at 9:20pm this Sat?? What’s up with 7:30pm??

  2. Moonlight was a good show. Pity it was another victim of the Writer’s Strike.

Most Moonlight fans will have already watched these episodes a couple of years ago – “Fleur de Lis” aired back in 2007.

Nine are morons, liars, etc. but at least GO! exists to broadcast some different programming which is desperately needed.
