   Showtime Comedy HD and Showtime Drama HD can fill in the channel slots of 222 and 223, while Showtime Horror can fill in 405 and Movies 24 can fill in 424. Showtime Comedy HD – D222, Showtime Drama HD – D223, Showtime Horror – D405 and Movies 24 – D424

   Movies 24 will hopefully be the Hallmark Channel’s sister channel and the only channel of its kind in Australia dedicated to bringing you made-for-TV movies 24-7 and commercial free as well as the only channel where you will find an erotica movie screening weeknights at 10:15. If you like made-for-TV movies ad free then Movies 24 is the channel for you! While Movies 24 will air commercial free tv movies 24-7, Hallmark should air Packed to the Rafters and All Saints from 8:30 weeknights as well as introduce shows such as: Neighbours, Home & Away, Prisoner, The Young Doctors, G.P. and Sons and Daughters as they already have great shows such as: All Saints, A Country Practice, McLeod’s Daughters, Sea Patrol, City Homicide and Packed to the Rafters just to name a few. That way the channel guide would go like this: 13TH STREET – D113 HALLMARK – D116 MOVIES 24 – D424

   Don’t understand why MTV has moved to the 100 series channels. Does this mean its now included in the standard package? if so, that really waters down an already weak music package.

   Also, can someone please confirm if the digital free to air channels will be launching nationwide, or fta definition of nationwide which is Sydney Melbourne and Brisbane. Canberra has to deal with bozo’s* like southern cross ten for example as a regional broadcaster, and they all refuse to rebroadcast on foxtel for some reason.

   * They are bozo’s cause i have been contacting them constantly over the past 3 years or so, and everytime they have lied and said that they would be rebroadcasting their channels onto foxtel with the next 90 days… still nothing

   will SBStwo and abc 2 (and 3) be live EST feeds into WA like they are now via satelite?
   abc1 and sbs1 seem to be local feeds, but not these multichannels.

   its great being able to watch the late night sbstwo movies at 6pm WST.

   Glad you asked Jason MTV Hits and TMF are both music channels. Only changes I would make to the new guide would be Ovation – D125 and Sci Fi – D132. Meanwhile Movies 24 is a 24 hour movie channel dedicated to made-for-TV movies.

    Because Foxtel Cable has ABC HD on 202, Seven HD on 207, Nine HD on 209, One HD on 210 etc.

    I like that they’re moving MTV and E! within spitting distance of each other – those channels get a lot of play in my house (perhaps a tactic acknolwedgement that MTV is no longer a music station)

    I also think moving BBC World News to the back is an epic WIN! I think they’re giving prominence to higher rating channels and like it or not – Fox and CNN would command a bigger share I reckon.

    Also, does it matter what actual channel number each channel is. With 120 channels, who actually flips through the channels. Don’t you just page up or page through the EPG. Or go straight to the DVR?

    You know whats strange? Al Jazeera is available freely. Foxtel can choose to provide it at no cost. There is no encryption on it. So if u buy a satellite set-top box, it will pick up Al Jazeera.

    Foxtel are complete d**ks for 1)relegating BBC World News back there, and 2)not adding Al Jazeera English.
    This obvioulsy has everything to do with News Corps management influence at Foxtel.

    jakevin, I always though the reason Nine are at 100 is they paid to be the first channel on the whole line up. Might have been part of the bargaining deal when Nine were the first ones to go onto Foxtel digital.

    Foxtel also needs to launch three new channels MTV Hits, TMF and Movies 24. Since MTV has been dropped as a music channel, MTV Hits can have channel 808, TMF can have channel 812 and Movies 24 can channel 424 . Now everyone wins! Glad that the Style Network is on channel 122.

    Glad also however that MTV has finally become an entertainment channel on channel 124. Hope Movies 24 gets launched soon as it can have made-for-TV movies 24-7 and commercial free as well as become a movie channel along with FMC, Starpics 1, Starpics 2, TCM, World Movies, Showtime Premiere, Showtime Action, Showtime Comedy and Showtime Drama.

    I am very disappointed with the moving of BBC World News and A-PAC. As a news junkie I often find myself scrolling through the news channels. This change is unnecessarily inconvenient.

    It is good, however, to see Nat Geo Adventure removed from the sports section.

    Wow so Sky Racing is going to be 3 channels now and TVN moves to 522. So what does this mean? Will 1 have Metro? 2 have provincial?

    Also moving some of the channel numbers around will get a bit confusing. HD is good too. I cant wait to get my hands on a box. I need 2 actually. One for my room and one for the living room.

    13th Street/113 *clever idea*
    MTV/124 *good idea, there is Hardly any music on it any more*
    Sky Active/600 *good move, auto triggers it*
    APAC/648 *bad move, should have been left alone*
    BBC/649 *bad move, should have been left alone*
    ABC3/723 *good move, cause its strictly a kids channel*

    *No mention of: GO!* what channel is that gonna be??

    With so many channels maybe Foxtel need voice activation on there remotes to just say the channels name to find it?

    I didn’t realize so many channels were moving, is this the same for Austar subscribers?

    Looks like there’s some channel changes too then for existing channels. SciFi is currently on 132…probably others too but I’ve never paid too much attention to channel numbers…that’s what the ‘favourites’ button is for.

    David, you should go back and have another look at the website, the list has been updated now with several channels that were missing (e.g. BBC Knowledge, E!, ABC2 etc.)

    Surprising to see MTV go into the 100s category as well.

    Few more than when I had Foxtel back when it started! But going by the selection of channels I saw when staying with a friend last week, it’ll just mean more b-grade rubbish with a few crowd-pleasers thrown in – and more ads than FTA!

    I don’t understand why they don’t take the chance to get All the channel numbers “fixed”, and make the association between normal channels, and their +2 partners logical.

    ie:
    FOX8 = 108, FOX8+2 = 158, FOX8 HD = 208

    Having FOX8 +2 as 150 gives no respect to the “8″ brand that they have built up since the day Foxtel started.

    THis seems mostly accurate, given 111 HITS have started advertising its +2 channel will be on 161. I’m not sure about moving around some of the channels 112-120 (might confuse people), U forgot E! on 121.
