Returning: Twenty/20 match

By David Knox on October 28, 2009 / Filed Under Programming 5

swA Twenty/20 Match exhibition game will serve as a curtain-raiser for Nine’s upcoming international summer of cricket.

The match will see Adam Gilchrist join Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath and Matthew Hayden in an All-Star side at the GABBA in Brisbane.

Set to screen live on Sunday November 22nd, the game in Brissy begins at 6:35pm, which would logically put it at 7:35pm in Sydney and Melbourne.

Being the final Sunday of the ratings year, it should also pit the match against the Australian Idol finale on TEN.

Idol has run its course. Pouring concrete would give it a ratings run now. Anybody that has any tallent has already been through the process. Read Wes Carr had 2, yes 2 turn up for an early morning live performance. Speaks volumes I think

oh great, Cricket vs Idol, two of my favs. Cricket will have to do, with Idol in ads. Cricket will be finished by the time the winner is announced on Idol anyway, hopefully :p

The Idol finale should be an epic fail this year.

It’s a first time the Twenty/20 exhibition match is played on Sunday night (it was held on Friday night for the past two matches). Looks like Nine does not want to give Ten a free rein with the Australian Idol finale.
