Prior to its launch today at 12pm, 7TWO has made some adjustment to its first week of programming.
The introduction to the channel is now ten minutes instead of five with Michael Jackson: His Latest Televised Concert to commence at 12:10pm.
There have been episode changes to The Jay Leno Show weekdays at 6pm -though it isn’t clear how…
From 1am Wednesday night (Thursday morning) vintage AFL Footy Flashbacks have been ditched, to be replaced with The Mole and followed by Home Shopping at 2am. From 4am it airs The Body Specialists, Medical Rookies and Kids Time from 5am.
AFL Footy Flashbacks are also out a week later on the morning of Thursday November 12 and November 19. But the games remain screening late nights on other days.

I’d personally rather watch infomercials than “classic” AFL games …. Heck, I’d rather watch “classic” news broadcasts than either of them.
Sport, infomercials aaarrrhhh
@Earthquake Not a fan of “the Victorian” game ey, where do you live, the year 1870?
As a proud Western Australian coming from a long tradition of Australian Football players and supporters over generations going back to the 19th Century, your comments offend me deeply.
Australian Football is a game played by all Australians not just Vics.
KFed: Your news bulletin rerun idea has merit.
Not rerunning, old news, but more rather rerunning that night’s 6pm news, with each capital’s 6pm service re-airing post midnight.
Home Shopping and that Hugh Sheridan – wow, a less than tremendous start to 7TWO – what else is there to make us switch off. Sheridan’s song is horrible, stick to something you may be good at.
I think ditching AFL all together, sorry but there is enough sport on all channels, we dont need *classic* AFL on an entertainment channel. Also infomercials should be kept for the main channels (if we really do need them at all). GO is some reprieve, and I think it’ll still be the main choice in my home!
As a night owl – to be fair, early morning owl would be more accurate – the best things about Go! is that they don’t show infomercials in the early hours. Seven (Two) should follow suit.
Oh, and also get rethink the massive block of old AFL. Maybe they could also play classic news bulletins? *cough*
@Tess1988
Each week, Mediaweek produce a podcast covering the television industry and what is happening. Recently, they had Seven’s director of programming and production, Tim Worner walk through the new 7TWO channel.
(By the way, it was a good listen, and very informative).
Tim said that the Jay Leno show being aired would be the same one that has just aired in the US – He also said that it would go to air on 7TWO about an hour before it does on the Foxtel Comedy channel i.e. the same episode.
Considering the podcast was only this week, not too sure as to why and/ or what the changes will be. Guess we will just have to wait as see…
OMG people……. 1 day a week of a 2 hrs of infomercials. Not a big deal at all. I’m wrapped there’s still 6 days of Classic AFL.
Daniel G – Hamish & Andy are on Leno again this coming week…. I reckon that’ll be the one they’ll show.
James!
Be good to see The Mole again, but Home Shopping. Bugger that. I thought this channel was meant to offer an alternative and sintead they go and fill it with hours of endless ads. Not a good move if you want peopel to watch.
Nice to see The Mole back on air again, it would be great if Seven decided to make a new series of this – but only with Grant Bowler, not Tom Williams.
David could you please find out if jay leno s on hoildays in the US?, because if he is i guess we will be seeing old eps/or from the start, which i hope 7TWO does when hes off in the US
Those of you in Prime territory aren’t missing much. 7TWO is an absolute letdown. Of course with the opportunity to show even more home shopping, Prime may just have the incentive to get it to air that much quicker.
that was no intro, it was just two of the promos they’ve been looping on 72 already, and hugh sheridan overload. I thought we’d atleast get tom williams telling us something new, what a waste of my time. I think the welcome they were refering to was just the countdown and that quiet voice that said “welcome to television” trying to echo the same statement from 50 years ago, it may have made some sense if they added the word “digital” into the sentence.
Please keep home shopping channel off 7TWO! As I said before, 7TWO should show NBC Today in full from midnight, and (for Perth viewers) Sunrise from 3am to 6am so that people won’t miss on parts of the show that are omitted due to sporting commitments (Melbourne Cup, tennis etc.).
Which Series of the mole is it?
I have no problem with Home Shopping on 7Two…… as long as it has been taken off the main channel in return!
Jeez that Hugh Sheridan song is awful! Just hit the mute button
Why on earth did they start the first 10 minutes with Hugh Sheridan and his new Hit (big fail if you ask me) single, then ‘Packed to the Rafter’s’ promo…. Not the best of choices.
Live in Newcastle and can’t get new 7two. Can anyone tell me why?
i cant stand ethier home shopping or AFL but i think it is stupid to put more home shopping on by doing that they will lose the tiny amount of viewers whio are watching tv at that time
Home Shopping? How ridiculous
@gerry: Comment of the year right there.
not happy with the home shopping addition at all.
How about amending the name of the channel…
Re: Jay Leno Show episode changes – there was a promo on Seven for The Jay Leno Show which mentioned an appearance by Hamish & Andy on Wednesday. Considering that appearance was on the second or third episode, I reckon that means that the episodes coming to 7TWO may not be very ‘fresh’.
I really hope they don’t put TV shopping (read: ads) during the night…. Or if they simply must have 2 hours of ads, leave either the main or the second channel with an actual show on.
I’m not a fan of the Victorian game, but *anything* would have been better than Home Shopping in early mornings.
I’m not up at that time – but I’m sure there is people that are, that don’t want to see wall to wall shopping shows.
Although, anything with Mr T involved is always a hoot!
Good to see the Mole being put on but you would think they could keep Home Shopping off this channel
Aw man, i loved ‘the mole’.. of course being in Prime territory, i’ll miss most/all of the season..
It just sounds like the network is dishing up more sh!t.
I do just wish that Prime would make an announcement, any announcement is fine just let us know what’s going on. It obviously ain’t coming but to stay silent does not look good.
So they are wasting their multi-channel at 2am by screening home shopping? This will give Nine and TEN ideas for their Go! and One channels so as commercial tv continues with its gluttony of mid-dawn infomercials on all commercial channels, what a wasteland!
The first 24 hours on 7Two are completely boring! So very, very disappointing!!! Absolutely nothing of any interest … get it together 7 for pity sake!!!! Check out the digital guide …
Jack!
Wow a 10 min into LOL
Maybe with Leno they were going to show it from the start but decided to drop the first few months an go fo more current shows? IMO they should show new/current shows at 6pm and run the ‘older’ ones at late night for those who want to catch those interviews until they catch up and them maybe use the late night time to encore the show from 6pm…
Sorry, Tim Worner. “Hope Shopping” is not a show. It’s a two hour advertisement for pimple cream and dodgy body-building garbage.
Fail.
Please note, Mr Ego, that Nine does not feel the need to fill its overnight schedule on Go with spam.
As I said, fail.
home shoping- no thanks no way, GO! is the only decent late night programming, that’s what I’ll be watching.
