Airdate: White Collar

TEN will premiere a new US cop drama on the back of Celebrity MasterChef's finale.

wcTEN will premiere a new US cop drama, White Collar, in the final week of ratings.

Set to screen after the Celebrity MasterChef finale, it is obviously being given a leg-up as one of the network’s summer offerings.

Matt Bomer stars as Neal Caffrey a con-man who escapes from prison but caught by his nemesis, FBI agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay). But after Caffrey gives Burke evidence in another case the two decide to work together. Rather than returning to jail, Caffrey offers to provide his criminal expertise to assist Burke in catching other elusive criminals in exchange for his eventual freedom.

Despite its 48 Hours-style plot, reviews have been positive for this one.

From the USA Network, the same network as Burn Notice, the series has only just kicked off in the US.

It airs after the 2 hrs MasterChef finale at 9:30pm Wednesday November 25 on TEN.

  1. Can TV Tonight find out when White Collar continues with episode 7? And also whether they will take the second season like the USA network have done? I’m a huge fan of the show, and a news site such as TV Tonight would have their questions answered faster

  2. I’ve watched all three episodes of White Collar and seriously I’d have to say it’s one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time,Channel 10 are on a winning with this one,Matt Bomer is fabulous as Neal Caffrey,as is Tim DeKay as special agent Peter Burke…it’s a must see.

  3. White Collar is more in the vein of Monk and Psych, rather than harder crime series like Law & Order or even NCIS for that matter.

Those lighter crime shows are nowhere to be seen on Ten anymore, so I dunno how long this will last.

It’s quite a good show though. Hope it does well.

  4. @RichoTB – Over summer I’d love to see TEN repeat The Office at 7:30pm weekdays to garner some interest in the show and prep for The Biggest Loser being stripped across 7:30. In fact if Seven put 30 Rock at 7pm weeknights, and the same with Nine and The Big Bang Theory thay could all potentially harness some new fanbases for each respective show.

  5. I heard good things about this one, not had a chance to see it yet.

But what about The Good Wife, seen just the pilot and it’s not bad either, I guess TEN have it on hold for 2010.

  6. Not More Crime Show Please.Yes These are all on television but not a day goes by without hearing or reading about crimes in our papers.enough already

  7. I’m looking forward to seeing what the networks schedule over the summer…now that the second SD channels are up and running and this is where the networks are dumping axed/low-rating shows, its unlikely Ugly Betty, Heroes, etc will get an airing on the main ones.

Something tells me we’ll be seeing a lot of NCIS/House/CSI/Criminal Minds repeats. It’d be nice if Ten finally gave The Office a shot, but we all know that will never happen.

  8. Haha, I read this article right as I was watching the latest episode of the show. Personally, I thought the pilot was pretty damn good, and that the show as a whole is one of USA’s best.

  9. Great pick up from ten. I bet they are hoping it finds an audience so they can play it through ratings next year or if it doesn’t then hopefully it can find a loyal audience and they can put it on their entertainment channel. 10 has so many shows they can put on their 3rd channel its not funny. They might not be great in total figures but all these shows have loyal as followings.

  10. Great to see ten pick this show up. I am a little suprised how fast.
But i think it will make great summer viewing and could be a great
way for the audience to be built up. I do belive its another hit show
from USA Network which as stated in the story airs Burn Notice
but it also airs In Plain Sight which ten is has also aired.
By the time it airs on Nov 25 they will be about 5 episodes in.
Also the cast in the show is really good. Ive liked Mat Bomer
since i saw him in Travler and his role on Chuck as well.
A great pick up by ten cant wait to see this one

  11. Ten is smart to get their hands on all these USA Network shows. While they might not enjoy the same profile as things like V, Flash Forward etc, the fact is on the whole they are better shows.

USA sets new ratings records with almost every new drama they premiere nowadays. White Collar was yet another.
