Let Loose Live actually made it to two episodes. Sketch comedy counts for drama points. That’s why they keep making them. I would personally never watch anything with Matthew Johns on it and I suspect a lot of people in Melbourne are the same.

@Gil, TV Burp and Double Take. Neither lasted a week, in fact they both (narrowly) managed to get through a whole season. Let It Live (Let Loose Live was its name actually) is the one that lasted a week and it was on a Sunday.

Why are the networks even bothering with this one trick pony after everything he has inflicted upon Australian society through his decades old ‘comedy’ and filth behind the screens?

If he manages to get the deals, he will be crushed on 7, and Nine will just do crap again in the ratings next year with or without him, once again hoping Go will prop up the evening for them.

Good, 7 please bid for the NRL and hand the AFL back to 9. I hate Bruce McAvaney, his commentary is terrible and so is your coverage, 9 did it much better and has a lot better commentary team (hopefully Commetti will come back to 9 too). 7 tends to ruin any sport it gets

I can tell you the majority of Rugby League fans are hoping Seven gets the rights for two reasons.

1. Nine pays no where near the amount of money the Rugby League is actually worth to the network. They got a sweetheart deal after the Super League war was finished, and then under paid for this current deal.

2. Nine shows one, maybe two games into Melbourne at a decent time, and when I say decent I mean before 11pm. In fact Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide hardly get shown the game at all, and that needs to change.

Can’t wait. Good to see him help try and sink 9 after the way he was treated and that god awful Grimshaw interview and the way she called him out the night before it was on. Have never watched her since and never will.

If seven are willing to pay the NRL what Rugby League is worth than good on em I’ll be wataching on Seven from 2012. Get Ray Warren on board and seven can enjoy the great growth that league is destined to enjyoy….. Rugby League is the best sporting spectacle you can watch on TV that’s why our crowd figuers could be bettter.

and maybe seven might have the brains to put Storm games on at a decent hour. They might be smart enough to realise it might take a bit of time but eventually people will get more and more interested!!!

Paul Hogan style comedy? What were those two dreadful comedies Ch7 had on Thurs Nights – The Burp and Let it Live (?). Both lasted a week. I suppose thats what you get when you aim at the gutter for viewers.

Oh dear. NRL on 7? Just wait, we’ll have Koche and McAvaney trying to understand how NRL is different to AFL, all while Johns is sitting there with his palms in his face. It will be the worst commentary you have ever heard. And that’s just the start of it.

Please 7, don’t bid for this. Your network has no expertise in NRL and even if you manage to snare Matthew Johns and maybe another name or two, the sport will almost be unwatchable on your network. Or even worse, i’d not be surprised if they were to chuck it one of their digital channels (from 2014) rather than keeping it on the main channel.

I’ve had some doubts that 9 were doing the sport justice in the last 4-5 years, but the last year or so, 9 seem to be heading in the right direction with it all. Would be a shame to see this all undone. Not sure i’ll watch NRL on FTA if 7 get the rights.
