They are losing the camaraderie that made me love the show to begin with. I know the regulars wanted more time off but they are focussing too much on Allie and Nick. I I hate having our Muskateers relegated to background scenery for the newbies. There’s also no feeling that they’re friends anymore; they’re simply automations in an office or behind an interview desk. The cameraderie I enjoyed so much in past seasons is gone.

I’m also afraid that actors like Aaron and Damien are soon going to tire of being parts of the scenery . We were promised plotlines with them this year that didn’t materialize. I was actually hoping they wouldn’t replace Daniel and the others would be used more. I also hate Tasma in this. She’s not needed. I can see a profiler once a season as they’re used mainly for serial cases, but she’s definitely not one I’d have counselling people. That look in her eyes would turn me off and make me anything but calm. To me the season has just left me wanting. It’s turning into just another cop show.

As for Rush most of the characters are too much like caricatures for my liking. Leon is just plain wierd, Michael is a wuss, and Dom has turned into a sleaze. As for Kerry, that character seriously needs help. I can’t picture someone like that in charge of a unit where lives are constantly on the line. Also that relationship she has started with the brother of the man she killed is just plain sick. I don’t watch it anymore.

@Ronnie, i do like Rush too, but by far prefer City Homicide. Rush is too up and down for me, i like humourous elements, but Rush can go way overboard into slapstick territory. The episode with the guy dancing at the strip club was idiotic in my opinion. And I can’t stand Leon or Michael.

@Ronnie: yeah, I much prefer Rush as well. Despite its tendency to go way, way over the top – or perhaps because of it – it’s a way more entertaining show, with massively higher production values (it’s shot on *film*, there’s a novelty for Seven!) and acting that’s light years ahead of the wooden faux-Brit-cop-drama efforts on CH.

John Edwards knows how to make a show that pushes the right buttons for viewers. CH could learn a few things from him.

I suspect the audience is divided into two camps. I really like Nadia Townsend – she is believable as a cop. The show wont miss Daniel because he can’t act which has been a big problem because despite the fact that he is way too young to actually be in a Homicide Squad he solves most of the murders. Noni and Shane are formula Channel 7 Mum & Dad trying to guide the rest of the “children”. Every drama is the same on this network. Shouting and anger is not drama, and that’s all that happens here. We’ve seen everything before and it bores me rigid. If you are under 55 and like this do you like Rush? I way prefer Rush.

Noni was given time off this season to undertake live theatre committments, which is why she’s beenabsent in many of the episodes.

If they are looking at contracts, I’m with you Judith. Get rid of NadiaTownsend – she is just annoying.

I used to enjoy this show but we hardly ever see Noni Hazlehurst anymore & I miss Shane Bourne I can’t stand the new actors in it especially the girl, she is pathetic

@Freddy, yeah i agree very monotone when she talks, but she’s got spunk, i like her cos she’s feisty. Pulls it off better than Macpherson.

And i think the episodes have been brilliant this season. Just hope Seven don’t keep screwing it around, with timeslot changes and revolving door in the cast. Stability will help it get better ratings.

@Ronnie: i’m 30 and my wife is 35 and we both really enjoy homicide…..

shane bourne’s character was brilliant – i notice that his name is still in credits……

i like the original cast a lot [including aaron p's] but this year’s was a mixed bag. the actress who plays allie is awful, but i like jarvis a lot……

@Jed, Allie? I finf her acting woeful, no personality at all. The way she talks is boooringgg and very monotone. She is One big reason I do not watch it anymore.

@Neon KItten: Shane Bourne’s missing because these episodes were filmed at the same time as Thank God You’re Here, which Bourne hosted. The show needs him back.

@Ronnie, as a 21 year old, i can say you’re wrong. This is one of my favourite shows.

Don’t think they really need a new detective. I was questioning the decision to bring in two new ones, but i love Allie and Nick now, but i think the balance is right. Really, how many detectives do you need on one case? With Macpherson leaving who i think has the weakest character anyway, it would be perfect. 3 Males, 2 females, although Aaron Pederson been gone lately. But i agree bring back Shane Bourne.
