Screen Music Awards: winners

Satisfaction and McLeod's Daughters were amongst the TV wins in last night's awards for the country's top screen composers.

mcleods81The Chaser’s Chris Taylor and Andrew Hansen hosted the 2009 Screen Music Awards in Sydney last night.

The annual awards, organised by the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) and the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC), recognise music for film and television industry,

In the TV categories, Cameron Giles-Webb / Colin Simkins won Best Television Theme for Satisfaction. The talented Giles-Webb was also a co-composer of the Australian penned entry for Greece in Eurovision 2009.

Alastair Ford won Best Music for a Television Series or Serial for McLeod’s Daughters .

Roger Mason won Best Music for a Mini-Series or Telemovie for The Last Confessions of Alexander Pearce, which screened on the ABC.

Sean Peter won Best Music for Children’s Television for The Adventures of Charlotte and Henry.

  1. I remember that Eurovision song (unfortunately).
    I think it was dull and usual , sounded like a pop song from 15 years ago slightly rewritten. Could have mixed it well with other songs that sound so simliar ! There was a huge fuss over this non groundbreaking song .
    But I love the Satisfaction opening credits.They are brilliant
