Belinda, 10s second sd channel, october?
    How do you know this?

  2. Robert November 13, 2009 at 11:16 pm -

Finally. The Office at a Normal Hour. This could be 10′s break out show for 2010 (if they give it time to develop)

  3. ryan November 13, 2009 at 9:58 pm -

i would like to see the american season of so you think you can dance on either mon nights, sat or sun nights

  4. Justin November 13, 2009 at 9:28 pm -

Is it just me or has ten raised the bar for summer?
First run Glee is even being used! Thats just great news for viewers well done channel 10 for raising the bar. Now come to the party nine and seven – I know ten will still come 3rd in summer but this is definatly great.

  5. luke November 13, 2009 at 9:24 pm -

when should nine and seven reveal their summer line up?

  6. Cindy November 13, 2009 at 7:17 pm -

  7. Wendy November 13, 2009 at 6:12 pm -

Whatever they do to fill the time Neighbours is off the Air Please no Bold and the Beautiful I hope they have the brains to put on an OC type offering at 6:30pm something that appeals to those of us who don’t care for News and Current Affairs elsewhere and those of us who miss what good teen/twenty something drama is.

  9. Burt November 13, 2009 at 2:42 pm -

Shows as painfully boring as 90210 (for what very few Aus viewers are fans of it and who all would’ve seen it) and the new Melrose Place, really need a 2nd channel from Ten, as they’ll never generate the high ratings Ten need on their standard channel.

  10. Casey November 13, 2009 at 2:38 pm -

Ten will air 2 episodes of The Office (that’s always had a poor following with Ten’s bogan viewers) and even though ratings aren’t meant to count, then take it off from it rating poorly, hence why Ten needs to get sold and when that’s done, launch a 2nd channel, that could air shows that’d get taken off quickly on Ten standard channel (Battlestar Galactica’s last season, The Office, Psyche and Monk).

With talk of a final 10th season on Smallville (which I think is a mistake), Nine need to find a way to get the show back off Ten and air it on Go.

  11. Tepee November 13, 2009 at 2:12 pm -

Thanks David for clearing up my mistaken presumption about NZ Hothouse. Not the reality series after all.

  12. David Knox November 13, 2009 at 11:14 am -

TEN has updated its first week of summer already. Glee 7:30pm Sun 29th Nov will now be a first run ep “Hairography.”

  13. Dave November 13, 2009 at 11:03 am -

I’m so so happy about The Office coming back – this is probably the best show on in the US

  14. David Knox November 13, 2009 at 10:08 am -

All this talk of 90210. It didn’t work last year… TEN then slated it for summer, pulled it and didn’t add it to TEN HD. I don’t see it with any second shot….. but hey they took notice of calls for early Office.

Brandex yes that’s fine, as long as it’s not the whole article and has active links. Appreciate you asking.

  15. Belinda November 13, 2009 at 9:28 am -

Ten’s third channel doesn’t launch until October, so let’s hope they don’t hold content like 90210 and Melrose until then.

  16. Jason November 13, 2009 at 9:20 am -

That’s the best Ten summer lineup since they showed NewsRadio two nights a week (in those Office slots) back in the 90′s!

I hope it works out because there’s an awful lot of comedy there.

I’m also pleased that they bumped Letterman, Letterman is good but then once he’s over they’re straight to home shopping so bumping Letterman will not only likely double their post-11pm audience but will also reduce the amount of home shopping after midnight – a win win!

I notice also Lie to Me on Thursdays – could it be moving there in the new season – that would give them a solid run of SVU during wintertime next year rather than burning the show up before July. Maybe House in late on Tuesdays cuz he’ll follow NCIS next year (what a flip that would be!)

Like others here have pointed out – the only thing missing from this sked is Melrose/90210

As weird as that 3 eps of The Simpsons + Cleveland looks – others here are right, that’s probably the only way to launch it!

  17. Craig November 13, 2009 at 6:11 am -

Looking at the guide there is very little interesting me on TEN this summer, Accidentally on Purpose is okay but I’ve seen it already, The Office needs to be treaded better and will be gone come Feb, if not before.

That just leaves White Collar which I hear is good but TEN using it in the summer is not a good sign. At least we have more FTA channels this year than ever to keep us entertained.

  18. ryan November 13, 2009 at 4:33 am -

i would love for ten to try friday and sat nights as doco/ lifestyle type shows to try and pull in the oldies on those days, guerrilla gardners was an ok show they could finish playing the eps the had left, but ten should start their own aussie sort of travel/garden/entertainment/and home in the one show.

  19. Andrew November 13, 2009 at 3:14 am -

I’m in two minds about Outrageous Fortune, I don’t like how they can skip 2 seasons but season 5 is really good and may get viewers in.. if Ten are reading these forums can you please use the NZ promos at the end of the episodes so it makes people want to tune in the following week.

  20. Brandex November 13, 2009 at 2:49 am -

Hey David, I’ve just made my own small blog for Supernatural and I was just wondering if it’d be ok to use some of your information as a source, I’ll credit you obviously and link to this article.

  21. RichoTB November 13, 2009 at 2:44 am -

About time Ten gave The Office a chance in primetime. Seriously, I’m really surprised they even bothered, last summer they had Rules of Engagement/The Simpsons on as a double Three Days of the week!! This schedule is actually great.

This lineup is better than the crap they’ve had on all year, its nice that NCIS, House and Rush are nowhere on the schedule. Although I still reckon a Smallville/Supernatural double on Friday nights would have been a better idea. And 90210/Melrose Place would be a good idea, there’s nothing aimed at teenagers to watch at the moment thats not on GO.

  22. David Knox November 13, 2009 at 1:25 am -

Katrina you are spot on. S19 E19.

  23. Katrina November 13, 2009 at 1:17 am -

Any idea where they’re picking up on L&O? IIRC they had 4 eps left of last season.

  24. bindi November 13, 2009 at 12:44 am -

omg Stargate universe? I hope they actually show it sometime.
glad about supernatural and would also like to see smallville.

  25. Ryano November 13, 2009 at 12:07 am -

I assume these are the kinds of shows we can expect to see from Tens 3rd freeview channel next year?

  26. Earthquake November 12, 2009 at 11:51 pm -

Hmmm, it kinda sucks they’ve skipped a few seasons of Outrageous Fortune, but better the new season than none at all.

From memory Karaoke High is something similar to Glee? It being paired with Don’t Forget The Lyrics should be good.

Awesome to see The Office finally getting some recognition. It’s must see TV. Too bad it has RoE infront of it. I might give Accidently On Purpose a go though. I’ve had my try of RoE and it is not my cup of tea.

  27. Justin November 12, 2009 at 11:46 pm -

Wow ten have a lot of new stuff in their schedule. With some repeats of shows. But there isn’t a lot of repeats. Futurama new? I didn’t think there was new episodes available until the end of next year. That is great. Also Accidently on Purpose? I thought ten would wait until ratings period to play that. Amazing stuff again ten. Im waiting for Melrose and 90210 maybe they will go sundays 8:30 and 9:30! Or maybe one will just go 9:30 monday after Supernatural.

  28. Harry November 12, 2009 at 11:32 pm -

Good to see The Titanic being played on TEN – I couldve sworn I watched it on Nine ages ago..

I hope TEN steer clear this Summer of NCIS Repeats. NCIS LA/Rush would be good to show. Pick up some more viewers if all goes well, especially Rush.

  29. David Knox November 12, 2009 at 11:21 pm -

Outrageous Fortune is S5 2009. Futurama is new as indicated in the story (why ask something that’s already been stated?). Letterman seems to be pretty much a midnight start. Neither Nurse Jackie nor Three Rivers are in for first week of summer, so who knows beyond that? The Hothouse (NZ) is not a reality show.

  30. Jimbo November 12, 2009 at 11:19 pm -

Overall, a good schedule. Except for one thing – what’s happening with the Late Show with David Letterman? It’s not airing at 11.15pm anymore during the summer? It’s bad enough making it start After midnight on Mondays (thanks to ‘Medium’) and Fridays (thanks to ‘Crap movies’), I can’t let ten air this after midnight on all nights in Summer. You kniow what’s happening tvtonight?

  31. Jed November 12, 2009 at 11:11 pm -

Well doen Ten for putting The Office in prime time. Would be great if Seven can do the same for 30 Rock. When’s that coming back??

  32. Elizabeth November 12, 2009 at 11:06 pm -

Brilliant news on Outrageous Fortune. What season will it show? I hope it’s not edited in a 930 time slot. I am currently watching series 3 on DVD and there is less nudity than series 2 but a lot of swearing (love it – mind you!) so I hope the audience doesn’t get a softer version?

  33. Faik November 12, 2009 at 10:45 pm -

Great lineup! Ten will be great to flick to and watch something fun! supernatural, futurama, 7pm, californication all great to watch! and thank god for The Office! Finally!

  34. sillygostly November 12, 2009 at 10:41 pm -

Ten should have moved Futurama to Wednesdays and aired it alongside The Simpsons and Cleveland where it would have had a better chance of rating.

@ Justin: New episodes of Futurama will be shown. Ten has yet to air the episodic versions of the final two Futurama movies (Bender’s Game/Into the Wild Green Yonder) which equates to 8 new eps.

  35. Ruddeger November 12, 2009 at 9:45 pm -

Still no final season of The Shield and when if ever will Ten show new episodes of Monk ?

  36. Justin November 12, 2009 at 9:36 pm -

Is Futurama new eps or repeats?

Looks like a good line-up for my tastes, better than previous summers.

I do reacall that Ten orginally planned to show the US 5th grader last summer, but changed their minds at the last mintue.

Don’t Forget the Lyrics is one of fave summer shows – pity they are wasting it on Saturdays though, where it could simply be dropped for PG movies if Merlin repeats don’t work.

  37. ant November 12, 2009 at 9:24 pm -

Yippee! Supernatural’s back. Let’s see if it holds that plum slot though… it’ll be shafted to 3am on alternate weeks, mark my words.

  38. APM November 12, 2009 at 9:08 pm -

they could have also aired the last season of ‘The Shield’ at least over summer!

that way, the DVD would be released sooner.

  39. Craig November 12, 2009 at 9:05 pm -

I guess if TEN had SG-U then it might air sometime next year, maybe of their 3rd channel when they launch, good thing SciFi is fast tracking it…

  40. Johnson November 12, 2009 at 9:01 pm -

I don’t understand why Ten doesn’t show episode 11-13 of Glee during December (Ten will have shown first 10 episodes of season 1 by the end of ratings period in Australia), then it will take the same break as Fox in America, and wait for the last nine episodes of the season in 2010. Otherwise, a good summer line-up.

  41. Tepee November 12, 2009 at 8:40 pm -

Wednesday does seem rather feeble but I can’t think of another way of launching The Cleveland Show during non-ratings than surrounding it by The Simpsons. On that note there does seems to be a *heap* of comedy, from RoE rpts, new Office which a lot of people have suggested and would be happy about (perhaps going for another TBBT/2.5 Men success), Accidentally on Purpose, Futurama… I must say while overall it looks like a good line-up I predict a lot of this will fail ratings-wise and NCIS repeats will be slotted in problem areas pretty quickly.

On another note, I didn’t know New Zealand has its own version of The Hothouse. Is it a success over there or a complete bomb as it was on TEN in 2004?

  42. Lyn November 12, 2009 at 8:35 pm -

I hope Ch 10 does have “Stargate Universe”,
I’m eager to see this one!

And “Accidently On Purpose” sounds good too! :)

  43. Andrew November 12, 2009 at 8:26 pm -

I can’t believe they are giving The Office a chance in prime time! should have been done in the first place! What season are they up to? If it’s season 5 then it is pretty damn funny and season 6 (which is airing in US now is even better!)

Also Outrageous Fortune on at a decent time! this is brilliant news! Is It season 3? season 3 is a bit dark but it will hopefully grab viewers in because it’s such a great show and wait till you all see season 5 if we ever get it! Wow!

  44. James November 12, 2009 at 8:22 pm -

Hey, pretty good sched – looking forward to White Collar, Cleveland and Californication.

One question though David – have you heard what’s happening with Nurse Jackie? By my calculations, it will be at its’ penultimate episode by the first week of the NRP.

  45. Dean November 12, 2009 at 8:11 pm -

The Office on twice a week!!! I’m so happy!!

Thank you channel ten for coming to your senses!!

  46. Rhonda November 12, 2009 at 8:04 pm -

Are they ever going to put 90210 back because its taking awhile coming on DVD

  47. Dakota November 12, 2009 at 7:51 pm -

Wow! Neighbours is definitely finishing earlier than usual this year. Any reason for that? Will it be back earlier in Jan too then?Usually its only Home & Away that finishes early and starts late

  48. Ashley November 12, 2009 at 7:50 pm -

Yay Supernatural is back!!! =D =D

  49. KFed November 12, 2009 at 7:49 pm -

It’s funny how I forget how bad Summer TV is until it rolls around again.

  50. Woody November 12, 2009 at 7:40 pm -

Ugh for Rules of Engagement but yay for Cleveland Show and The Office.

I can’t stand David Spade anymore

  51. Chloe November 12, 2009 at 7:20 pm -

Oh, and I might give The Cleveland Show a go. I do love Seth MacFarlane, and if this is a product of his, then I’ll consider it.

  52. Chloe November 12, 2009 at 7:18 pm -

So happy Supernatural is back :) They did advertise it and one point but then they didn’t follow through, but who cares, it’s back! At least TEN has it, it could be worse…Nine could buy it, keep it on their programming schedule for, I don’t know, one night, then axe it. Then again they axed Three Rivers, okay, they’re all as bad as each other.

Excited most about SN, The Office, White Collar, Glee (never got to watch it last time round), and Lie To Me (something else conflicted with it). Now, just fingers crossed nothing coincides with these shows.

  53. Nick November 12, 2009 at 7:00 pm -

Titanic was on Seven wasn’t it? The rights must have changed. A faaaaaantastic summer lineup, except repeat galore but its cool, primetime slot for the Office!!!! Many many fans will br pleased, and hopefully it will continue somewhere decent next ratings season.

Very smart move having Cleveland show in summer, it would have bombed in ratings, and Ten would have piss farrted around with it until we’d never see it again. Hopefully they persist with most of the schedule and don’t go chop changing at the last minute

And I was relieved to see that The HotHouse 10.30 friday is the NZ series, not the failed Aussie series.

Heaps of this stuff will also bode well for their new entertainment channel next year, they have a decent back catalogue

  54. Ruddeger November 12, 2009 at 6:40 pm -

With repeat shows listed at 11.15pm does this mean Letterman is being bumped back to after midnight everynight ?

  55. Belinda November 12, 2009 at 6:37 pm -

@sillyghostly, someone in the TVlounge said it is season 5 of Outrageous Fortune.

Fingers crossed The Office works this time. Are they starting from season 5?

  56. Trent November 12, 2009 at 6:33 pm -

Very good lineup for the first week of non-ratings. However, I’ll probably get sick of it by Christmas.

  57. Brad November 12, 2009 at 6:25 pm -

Yay … I’m soo glad that Supernatural is finally coming back!! … I was worried that we were gonna have to wait until like next year or something!! :-D

  58. Amir November 12, 2009 at 6:17 pm -

OMG! The Office! At a decent time! I never thought the day would come. Ten is actually listening to everybody. I know what channel I’ll be watching in summer now, lol. Now only if 90210 would return…

  59. Dave November 12, 2009 at 6:13 pm -

    Hey David

Is there any way you can ask TEN about Smallville? Do they have it still and do they intend to air it? (Either on TEN or new channel)

    Thank you! :D

Also, great summer line up :D

  60. Yong November 12, 2009 at 6:12 pm -

Man, what;s ten going to do with Three Rivers?

  61. Russell November 12, 2009 at 6:10 pm -

Surprised “Cleveland Show” is airing over summer. It’s the #2 show of the US season in 18-49.

It’s sad to me how American Australian TV is over the summer. It’s just sad. I mean 120 channels and 118 of them show American programming 5 hours a night.

  62. Edu November 12, 2009 at 6:09 pm -

Not particularly ecstatic about the new titles but glad to see that both Glee and Little Britain will be repeated.

  63. David Knox November 12, 2009 at 6:00 pm -

Also hearing TEN has Stargate Universe.

  64. Scott November 12, 2009 at 5:59 pm -

What’s happened to The Late Show with David Letterman? Surely this would be better than repeats of tired american dramas?

  65. Jacket November 12, 2009 at 5:48 pm -

At last…. Supernatuarl is back on aussie TV…
    Hooray…thanks TEN….. better late than never…..
and this new Season 5 has been excellent so far in the US….
    I am very happy:)))

  66. Sillygostly November 12, 2009 at 5:44 pm -

Wow. That’s a pretty solid schedule. I’m displeased with the volume of repeats though (particularly of Ten’s poorer quality shows). Who the hell still watches RoE? :-/

And finally, new Outrageous Fortune!!! :D David, do you have any idea which season Ten will be screening? (will they continue where they left off and air season 3 or will they skip straight to season 4?)

  67. vinny November 12, 2009 at 5:35 pm -

I think Summer tv is looking better at the moment than when it is ratings time.

abc also has some great shows on over summer too !

    Yay to the Office !

  68. ryaneco November 12, 2009 at 5:20 pm -

    1. TEN I F*****g love you (feel free to edit that out) Thankyou for giving The Office a primetime slot! Thank you thank you thank you! Now just give it some patience like you’ve showed towards The 7pm Project please!

    2. Overall its quite a good schedule! Looking at that there is something on every night that I would watch.

  69. Craig November 12, 2009 at 5:16 pm -

Yay for more of The Office. Accidentally on Purpose is okay but not the best sitcom this season.

BTW what happened to 90210 & Melrose 2009?

@Jake – only 4 eps of The Ex-List aired in the US, not sure is TEN has the rights to any others.

  70. David Knox November 12, 2009 at 5:08 pm -

Supernatural kicks off with a double ep. Unclear if it will stay that way. Yes Californication is new.

    Wednesdays look thin….

I notice no Melrose Place. Probably waiting to see if it fires in the US.

  71. Harry November 12, 2009 at 5:07 pm -

Why arent TEN repeating Rush? Its ratings are good at the moment, could pick up more viewers. Interesting that theres no ncis repeats as well.. oh well, people wont get sick of it now!

    Hurry up February lol!

  72. Kuttsywood November 12, 2009 at 5:04 pm -

Hope Ten, decide upon adopting the syndicated formula for Fifth Grader.

I wouldn’t mind Fifth Grader at 7:30, followed by Cleveland at 8

  73. tasmanian devil November 12, 2009 at 5:03 pm -

Quite good actually. Looking forward to The Office. Not looking forward to more repeats of Rules Of Engagement. And four episodes of The Simpsons on a Wednesday, well that’s overkill.

  74. MR November 12, 2009 at 5:02 pm -

Why the wait until then for the office and extending 7PM
Should have been on long ago in primetime
Its not as if TEN want to increase market share with the crap that has been on since MC finished months ago

  75. APM November 12, 2009 at 4:59 pm -

what?!? new Supernatural over summer, thats the first time thats happened.
should have saved it for February. so I take it ‘Californication’ is all new?

  76. Jerome November 12, 2009 at 4:59 pm -

OMG no NCIS!!! good that it is getting a break.

surprised to see cleveland show in there i thought that would wait till ratings. it’s the #1 new show of the US fall season 2009.

and supernatural at 8:30.. are they attempting a relaunch?

  77. Jake November 12, 2009 at 4:59 pm -

Great to have Lyrics back! But where is The Ex-List that Ten took off last summer, and Psych from Ten HD?

  78. ryan November 12, 2009 at 4:57 pm -

oh god more repeats of the worst show ever, rules of engagement!!! somebody please kill the loser who made that show

  79. tomothy November 12, 2009 at 4:55 pm -

I give The Office in primetime one week. They have stuffed around too many viewers over the last few years with this show for it to make a ratings comeback.
I said yesterday that Glee should move to 7.30 Sundays for 2010! I dont watch it, but that is the most suitable time and day for it.
This is what their ratings period schedule should have been..
Wonder what Neighbours will be replaced with.. maybe heavily edited Freinds?

  80. Goffy November 12, 2009 at 4:54 pm -

    Neighbours finishing early this year?

    Hoooray for titanic:D
