    is 2mrw neighbours last day>?

  2. David Knox December 3, 2009 at 10:56 pm -

…very soon. I always run it in December with winners announced first week of New Year.

  3. Peter December 3, 2009 at 10:49 pm -

its funny that in the ‘non ratings’ period so far, nine are doing really well.
id say its more due to sevens lack of a great line up then nine improving their line up.
So… when’s the annual tv tonight survey gonna start!
Fine… you can have a rest first david!

  4. tasmanian devil December 3, 2009 at 4:30 pm -

@Daniel H, no it’s just Seven being annoying. MA15+ shows can be shown from 9pm I think, and that was the timeslot Family Guy was once given. If it was still on at that time I might actually watch it.

  5. Daniel H December 3, 2009 at 4:00 pm -

@Damo, I think it might have something to do with the classifications. Most episodes of Family Guy are rated MA whereas Cleveland is M and therefore have to be shown later. Except on pay tv when any classification can air at any time.

  6. Andrew F December 3, 2009 at 3:49 pm -

The ratings for Hungry Beast and Race Relations are appalling, even for non-ratings.
That’s the sort of numbers they were getting for Ruddy Hell! It’s Harry And Paul at 9:30. I gave up on Safan’s show after two weeks. If it was on earlier and I didn’t have to sit through Hungry Beast I might have given it more of a shot but most people I know have stopped watching. Shame, I liked his first two series. Hope he gets to something else in the future.

  7. ryan December 3, 2009 at 2:44 pm -

@ survivor fan: oh i agree ay. i went out last night and bought the season 2 and 3 of ncis since ten arent playing them and i watched them all night and had the best time

  8. Damo December 3, 2009 at 12:40 pm -

With those Cleveland Show ratings, why on earth has 7 buried Family Guy so late at night?

  9. Survivor_Fan December 3, 2009 at 12:21 pm -

I hate tv over the summer. There’s nothing decent to watch and most are repeats.

Thank goodness for tv on dvds….

  10. bindi December 3, 2009 at 11:47 am -

so monday futurama’s are new and wednesday ones are repeats? or have 10 decided to stop showing new ones?

  11. koverstreet December 3, 2009 at 11:16 am -

I wouldn’t say Cold Case was better then CSI (well not CSI at it’s best) but it’s a good show even though at times it’s quite depressing which is the reason I stopped watching regularly a few years back.

  12. Edu December 3, 2009 at 10:45 am -

I’ve almost forgotten how good Cold Case is, way better than CSI and last night’s new ep was great, too bad they’re pulling it out now in the US.

  13. Chad White is Hot December 3, 2009 at 10:32 am -

OMG Wednesday night is now the most boring night on TV.

  14. jaxmachine December 3, 2009 at 9:19 am -

i love the cleveland show on ten last night

  15. tomtom December 3, 2009 at 9:12 am -

Good one channel 7. Move the Amazing Race from the day it has always been on, i.e. Thursdays, and move it to Tuesdays (for some bizarre reason) and lose 400,000 viewers. It is about the only interesting reality show on TV. Good job.

  16. Rutzie December 2, 2009 at 10:27 pm -

Looks like Seven’s decision to skip forward an hour during Sunrise to show the Liberal Leadership Vote live into Brisbane paid off big time. Really Seven, Whacked Out Sports is the best you could come up with. Why not repeat Thank God You’re Here.

  17. Tom Morgan December 2, 2009 at 9:13 pm -

Nine News won Sydney and tied in Brisbane on Tuesday. Good on em! Seven’s news is pathetic.

  18. Mr. Do-Bee December 2, 2009 at 7:39 pm -

I’m surprised Ocean’s 13 rated so highly seeing as it was only on in July.

  19. Goonies December 2, 2009 at 7:19 pm -

So everyone has been wetting their pants to get the Office back on air and then 7PM rates higher?

Hopefully this means it will never get a go in a primetime slot.

  20. ryan December 2, 2009 at 6:35 pm -

@ andrew b: Ten have over 100 repeats of ncis to play which is enough and alot more than summer will take so really there is no reason for them not to play atleast 1 repeat a week, thats only 12 repeats before summer is over.

  21. tasmanian devil December 2, 2009 at 5:45 pm -

I think the reason why Accidentally On Purpose rated higher than The Office was because it was the pilot episode and people just want to find out what the show is about and give it a verdict. I wouldn’t be surprised if The Office beats Accidentally On Purpose next time.

  22. Alex T December 2, 2009 at 5:35 pm -

Fingers crossed The Office can build on that number.. but i think that’s a pretty decent figure all things considered.

  23. Faik December 2, 2009 at 4:53 pm -

oh dear, why on earth did accidently on purpose get such a high number? terrible show. The worst part is that it rated more than The Office. Great to see The Office back on at a decent hour, hilarious episode last night.

  24. Andrew B December 2, 2009 at 4:51 pm -

You can tell the commercials are offering poor programming when ABC wins time slots from 7.00 – 9.30.

As for Amazing Race – there was not enough advertising for it being on Tuesday night and I think they should have left it play out the remaing few eps on Thursdays where it was doing quite well.

@ryan: Ten won’t play NCIS repeats during non ratings as they rate so well during ratings period anyway – it would be a waste to have NCIS on now. Same reason NIne has (finally) cut down on the number of 2.5 Mens they show each week.

  25. koverstreet December 2, 2009 at 4:50 pm -

I for one am very glad 10 have put the excellent Numb3rs back in the schedule and that it did well enough for them to keep it on.

Accidentally On Purpose was below average expect it to drop off next week. And thank god that awful show Gary Unfunny tanked please remove it Seven!

  26. CrAig December 2, 2009 at 2:23 pm -

@ RichoTB… each to their own, but I totally disagree with you when you say the Office has jumped the shark. I think Season 5 is excellent!
Michael playing Willy Wonka? Cafe Disco? Everything Andy or Dwight say?
To me it’s yet to even lose a little bit of it’s charm.

  27. meiji-era December 2, 2009 at 2:16 pm -

Woah! ABC Beating TEN on a Tuesday night?

    Impossible!

  28. Jake December 2, 2009 at 1:32 pm -

Good to see The Office back on television.

  29. RichoTB December 2, 2009 at 12:44 pm -

The Amazing Race only getting 500k in a primetime slot is a joke…almost as bad as Supernatural. The Office should be doing better but then again the later seasons have been poor. Season 2 and 3 were great, after that it jumped the shark. Surprised people are watching Numb3rs again but really there isn’t much competition.

Expect to see soon “Gone: Gary Unmarried, Whacked Out Sports. Returning: Border Security”

  30. ryan December 2, 2009 at 12:38 pm -

another great move by ten, moving white collar blue where ncis was really paid off didnt it! Why didnt they just replace it with ncis repeats? and my god that brought back that god dam show numbers! weirdest and worst s**t out there. 7pm was once again boring so i ended up watching funniest home videos, great to see accidently on purpose do well on its debut

  31. Johnson December 2, 2009 at 12:09 pm -

Last night’s schedule was dominated by CBS programs (I can count at least six), which had mixed fortunes. At 7.30pm, Accidently on Purpose beat Survivor: Samoa and Gary Unmarried. Both Survivor: Samoa and Survivor: Tocantins did well for Nine/GO!, but The Amazing Race flopped in its new night, losing nearly 400,000 viewers from last Thursday’s episode. It was Seven’s collapse after 7.30pm that gave Nine the win.

  32. bettestreep2008 December 2, 2009 at 10:31 am -

I too thought cheated by TAR last night. It was obviously decided not eliminate the last team after an earlier team made some nasty comments about them.

As for comments about Australian Idol – Stan’s record made No. 1 on the Physical sales chart – and this was how the charts were compiled before downloads were included. But I agree with you that interest in Stan is already declining especially since I have yet to hear his record played on the main FM stations. Another example of radio not supporting Australian artists.

  33. ducko December 2, 2009 at 10:20 am -

It’s either ABC news or nothing at 7pm. The commercial networks have nothing to offer. The 7pm Project fans are kidding themselves – it can’t even beat a stupid Video show.

  34. Jed December 2, 2009 at 10:09 am -

@Rutzie, Natalie Gauci (exactly, who??) only reached #2 with her one and only song, so far she’s the only idol winner not to go #1. It’s only his debut week, Wes Carr didn’t debut at # 1 but managed to go #1, although i hope Stan doesn’t get there and he probably won’t cos interest has gone already.

Interesting last night that Survivor Samoa finished early, and Survivor Tocantins started a bit after 8.30. They knew there’d be uproar if they had them clash. I recorded them both to watch later.

White Collar is one of the best new shows on tv, why is no one wathcing it??

And i’ve come to the conclusion that non-elimination legs on The Amazing Race are decided on the spot, if they think they’ll have conflict in the next leg. There was only a non-elimination leg 2 weeks ago, yet Sam and Dan steal another team’s taxi, so they say hey let’s keep all the teams in cos there’ll be fights.

  35. sam December 2, 2009 at 9:37 am -

great to see survivor back on 9- i love it ( watched the another 3 hours on go! ) what were 7 thinking shifting amazing race to tuesday ??? morons……

  36. jaxmachine December 2, 2009 at 9:36 am -

survivor samoa, claim of biggest villian did not dissapoint,

  37. Jimbo December 2, 2009 at 9:33 am -

The first 6 shows of last night was news / public affairs? Yawn!

It was good to see The Circuit on SBS go well last night, thanks to Packed to the Rafters Not airing on Seven. The Circuit is up between 50,000 and 100,0000 viewers on East West

  38. gerry December 2, 2009 at 9:28 am -

Could it possibly be true? Nine has won a Tuesday! :) 7PM Project, seems to be working, along with AFHVS: Daily Edition.

  39. messy December 2, 2009 at 6:22 am -

Watched 7pm project last night for the first time because nothing much else on. Well what a joke……I had to turn it off after 8 minutes. How can anyone watch a full episode?? Even Ray Martin appeared a little shell shocked.
I’m guessing the increase in numbers is because there is nothing else to watch. Once people realise just how bad it is, they will start to switch off….just like me.
    At least I tried.

  40. Rutzie December 2, 2009 at 2:07 am -

Just thought I’d mention that Stan Walker’s single debuted at no.2 on the official ARIA chart. Is this the first time the winners single hasn’t gone no.1?

  41. David Knox December 1, 2009 at 10:12 pm -

Last Monday MASH had 429,000 in the same slot. But it’s early days.

  42. Andrew December 1, 2009 at 10:05 pm -

Is that good ratings for Come Dine With Me in that time slot or not?

  43. Craig December 1, 2009 at 8:56 pm -

If I didn’t have a DVR I would probably DL it as well but on this occasion (and for a number of shows ‘fast tracked’) I can wait a week or so, depending on the show. It’s only when they hold off on my favorite shows for months with no sign when or if it will air that I resort to other methods, I don’t trust them so I’ve been racking up those frequent flyer miles lately LOL

  44. Rutzie December 1, 2009 at 7:50 pm -

Although those 7PM Project numbers seem good it did lose out to AFHV and only just beat a repeat of HIMYM. Awesome numbers for Man Vs. Wild. I cannot believe Seven are showing Whacked Out Sports in a primetime slot. If this rates well it will be an absolue disgrace.

  45. dean December 1, 2009 at 7:18 pm -

Really really hope Survivor Samoa rates well tonight and stays in a primetime slot. Might be a “stale format” but personally I think the past few seasons of Survivor have been the most entertaining in years. Just hope it doesn’t run overtime, resulting in me missing the first 10 minutes of Tocantins on GO!

Will be interesting to see how Amazing Race does tonight too. I’ll be recording it due to the 4 hour Survivor marathon I’ll be having.

  46. jono09 December 1, 2009 at 6:26 pm -

    hey david
why wasn’t hot seat on in melbourne last night
i’m sure i saw it but its not in the ratings

  47. Ashley December 1, 2009 at 4:04 pm -

naww supernatural didnt do so well, thats not soo goood

  48. David Knox December 1, 2009 at 1:27 pm -

Repeat. There was an amendment noting it later.

  49. Jake December 1, 2009 at 1:20 pm -

Was that a repeated episode of The Force on Seven last night, because the guide said it was a new episode?

  50. koverstreet December 1, 2009 at 1:05 pm -

Not good that a repeat Mentalist easily beat Flashforward giving it an absolute spanking in Melbourne.

Make ‘Em Laugh did ok thankfully.

  51. Belinda December 1, 2009 at 1:03 pm -

@Craig I still saw some local fans say they were going to download FlashForward to avoid ads. They were going to download the Seven version. I couldn’t believe it when people still preferred to download the final episodes of Dirty Sexy Money from the US months after Seven had already aired them here. Downloading and broadband seem to have completely altered the way some people watch television and it is going to be very difficult for local channels to win them back.

  52. Billy December 1, 2009 at 12:51 pm -

Wow, anyone else see that. Funniest Home Videos beat 7pm Project and HIMYM. I was expecting it to tank. Great numbers for The Mentalist. Surprised Two and a Half Men and The Force dropped so much. I wonder home The Middle will go next week on 9 replacing The Big Bang Theory. Expect 10 and 7 to excel tonight. I really hope Survivor rates well.

  53. David Knox December 1, 2009 at 12:39 pm -

Ben and Craig both raise an interesting question.

  54. ryan December 1, 2009 at 12:38 pm -

the only reason 7pm was up was cause ten news finally got a good figure same with 6pm simpsons and neighbours, plus no comp from home and away, still good though. too bad supernatural tanked

  55. Craig December 1, 2009 at 12:32 pm -

Flashpoint didn’t do too bad considering the lack of promoting it…

FlashForward not doing too well considering it was the 2009 final and aired before the US, maybe these illegal downloads are not causing the problems the networks would let us to believe?

  56. Sillygostly December 1, 2009 at 12:24 pm -

New Futurama eps should have aired on Wednesdays alongside Simpsons and Cleveland.

  57. bindi December 1, 2009 at 11:40 am -

shame that 10 came 4th on monday with all the new content in their line up, I hope it improves over summer as I think their line up is the best by far, maybe it is being hurt by 72 and 99.

  58. Allie December 1, 2009 at 11:19 am -

Consummate trashing of Nine News by Seven in Sydney last night. Chris Bath beat Peter Overton by almost 100,00 viewers. Not sure what Nine can do to revitalise their Sydney news service. It has been floundering for several years now.

  59. Belinda December 1, 2009 at 10:43 am -

@Jed, it’s not so good for Flash Forward considering that was a world premiere episode up against a repeat of The Mentalist. But I am also waiting on the sesaon 2 DVD of Pushing Daisies. I wonder what the hold up is? It’s a shame I forgot about it when I made my recent Amazon order.

Poor Ten, they finally get 7PM around where they want it to be, and the rest of the night tanks. I cannot believe AFHV beat HIMYM and 7PM, thank goodness for ABC News.

  60. dino December 1, 2009 at 10:36 am -

How embarrasment for Peter Overton and Nine News Sydney, thrashed by Mark Ferguson on Sunday, then humiliated by Chris Bath last night.

  61. MR December 1, 2009 at 9:59 am -

    7PM over 800 for a long time
is this the turn around 10 was looking for?
see how rest of week goes
awfull for SN bringing 10 down for night
expect changes in first week as some shows just not cutting it anymore

  62. George December 1, 2009 at 9:57 am -

Good to see 7PM blast past the 800k mark, but not good to see Futurama and Supernatural tank.

  63. Jed December 1, 2009 at 9:44 am -

Channel Ten are very very very smart. Look at the numbers for 7pm Project. Big improvement, and everyone was knockign their decision. I still think it has the potential to be a good show, if they listen to what changes the people want made. Playing it over summer to gain an audience is a good move.

Flashforward, still a good show in my opinion. And it still beat The Mentallist in Adelaide and Perth, so not everyone’s given up on the show.

Can someone explain the rules about dvd releases. Hasn’t there been occasions that dvd release takes forever because the networks haven’t shown it on tv. Yet Dead Set is still on tv and i’ve seen the dvd’s in stores already. I’m waiting for Pushing Daisies season 2 to be released and Eli Stone season 2, which has already been shown on tv.

  64. chad November 30, 2009 at 9:50 pm -

ten could always try out psych from the USA Network (burn notice/white collar), i think the have the rights on sundays

i wonder if any network has the guts to slightly edited some shows and start at 7/8/9pm during non ratings, its worth a try…… might keep some viewers stuck to the tv screen

  65. shoalla November 30, 2009 at 6:56 pm -

@allie the reason why there was such disastorous ratings for the first test on sunday was because it had already finished!

funny to see a show on a digital show beat a show on a commercial channel, although i would have liked to see the first show to do so to be a bit more witty and complex, but hey 5th grader US is hardly witty and complex itself!

  66. ryan November 30, 2009 at 4:36 pm -

@harry: god man i totally agree with u! merlin should be on at 6.30 sun and get rid of that american crap fifth grader! i cant even believe that show poped into their heads after our version failed this yr. David mott needs to get his act together

  67. ryan November 30, 2009 at 4:33 pm -

just got news from twitter that ten has filmed the season 3 promo for sytycda and we will see it in a few weeks :) kool as can’t wait!

  68. Harry November 30, 2009 at 3:33 pm -

Wouldve made much more sense to repeat Merlin 6.30 Sundays and not 7.30 Saturdays. Jeez TEN, grow some brains. Well Done to TEN for screening new eps of Glee as well, finally figured that the young ones download.

  69. tomtom November 30, 2009 at 3:28 pm -

Lawrence of Arabia was a great film, a true Epic. I am only 20 and think they should put more classic movies like this on. Maybe even prime time.

  70. messy November 30, 2009 at 3:19 pm -

Ryan…..I totally agree. The law of statistics is flawed. Sampling is an old method of trying to “crystal ball” an outcome based on what only a few.
We now have the technology to do away with sampling so lets get on with it.
The reason its not going to happen in the near future is because there is too much income to be made from the organisations who are involved.
Its better to know the “whole” and not just predict the whole based on a small sample.

  71. ryan November 30, 2009 at 1:46 pm -

oztam is the biggest pile of crap i have ever heard of and its about time the government and companies who make tv’s strike a deal where when u buy a tv you enter you details : eg age, sex into the tv and the tv gathers all the info itself and sends it off, like what channels you watch and for how long.

  72. Craig November 30, 2009 at 1:38 pm -

5th grader didn’t help Glee at all!

    I’ll try and look shocked….

  73. Bogues November 30, 2009 at 12:32 pm -

One thing I loved about Border Patrol (NZ) last night was the four stories were told individually and not mixed up like Border Security (AU) is.

Daniel: Initial Oztam ratings are based on what was scheduled, not what is shown (i.e. they don’t include overruns or late changes like the cricket).

  74. Daniel H November 30, 2009 at 11:26 am -

How did the First Test get ratings? It was over on Saturday.

  75. George November 30, 2009 at 10:55 am -

I have to say LOL at 5th grader’s ratings. TEN need to get a better show in that slot ASAP. Still, bloody good increase from 5th Grader to Glee. Glee would’ve gone better if it was advertised more though IMO.

  76. Kuttsywood November 30, 2009 at 10:25 am -

    Burned out OzTam, I presume.

I hope this don’t happen with the introduction of timeshifting.

  77. Allie November 30, 2009 at 10:23 am -

Simply disastrous ratings for the First Test, but a triumphant Top Five for the Seven network.

  78. Castle Fan November 30, 2009 at 10:22 am -

Bones #3, pretty impressive. Good to see Castle up again this week even though it was a repeat of the pilot episode. Gives new viewers a chance to catch up.

Does anyone know what the individual episodes for Castle were last week? Looks like the show took a big dive, but it had something to do with two episodes being combined and I would love to know how each of the eps did.

  79. Kenny November 30, 2009 at 10:21 am -

Well looks like Mark Ferguson has drawn blood on his first Sunday on 7 News in Sydney. 62% up on 9 Sydney.

  80. David Knox November 30, 2009 at 10:13 am -

Please note, once again digital channels have not been detailed.
