MichaelBuble-03-bigFoxtel will remind us all that Michael Buble is its very own Olympic Winter Games Ambassador when the Canadian crooner shows off his favourite hometown hotspots in Michael Buble’s Canada.

With the world’s attention soon to be on Canada for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, FOXTEL’s official Olympic Ambassador Michael Bublé guides Sophie Falkiner on a whirlwind ride around his Canada – exploring some of his favourite hotspots in the world premiere of Michael Buble’s Canada.

In the one hour special produced exclusively by Foxtel, Bublé, a Vancouver native and charismatic international singer, meets up with Sophie to discuss just what makes Canada such a spectacular and picturesque place to visit.

Starting off in Toronto, the home of the Toronto International Film Festival, Sophie checks out the awe-inspiring view from one of the word’s tallest buildings the CN Tower – a building so tall that lightning strikes it at least 75 times a year. Then it’s on to trendy Yorkville and a stop by Toronto’s Cricket, Skating and Curling Club.

From there, Sophie sets off for an unforgettable voyage on the Maiden of the Mist at the breath-taking Niagara Falls before continuing on to the very European-style city of Montreal and then the historical, capital city Quebec.

Back in the Olympic host city, Michael shows off his hometown of Vancouver and gives Sophie the low-down on his favourite restaurants, bars and sporting destinations. Michael also takes Sophie to Canada Hockey Place (home of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games’ Ice Hockey events) for a very intimate ice-hockey lesson – during which he serenades her.

Whistler is next on Michael’s list of must-see places. It is famous for its world class ski runs – and is also home to more than just a few Aussies – and Sophie explores all the activities there are to do on and off the mountain.

Then she flies off to explore the magical Sonora Wilderness Resort on Vancouver Island where she encounters an amazing array of wildlife – everything from bears, to dolphins to native sea-lions.

Next stop is Alberta, Calgary – cowboy country and home of movies such as “Brokeback Mountain”, “The Assassination of Jesse James” and the Clint Eastwood classic “Unforgiven”.

A visit to the stunning towns of Lake Louise and Banff conclude Sophie’s magical journey. Here she

soaks up the pristine beauty of the Canadian Rocky Mountains and enjoys the tales from the famous Banff Springs Hotel.

In the lead up to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games, Canada will be showcased to the world like never before and who better to promote it than Canada’s favourite son, Michael Bublé.

It airs Wednesday, January 6 at 7:30pm AEDT on FOX8.
