Yet more Australia drama that is really scraping the barrel of not only mediocrity but also the detritus that dwells at the bottom.

East West is just so frustrating, not only because it is one of the most implausible police dramas ever made with their PC rainbow nation team and trite sexual shenanigans, the whole crux of the show should really be a non issue; you're a police officer first irrespective of your cultural background. It also doesn't help that out of the core four only Lim and Porter can act. It's also annoying to know they are going to spend yet another season delving into the same territory already covered. Honestly it feels as though this show is like a dog chasing its tail.

Like A Virgin sounds truly terrible made even worse by the fact Marieke Hardy is writing. A female version of Last Man Standing only probably worse. It's probably Hardy's life story with the names changed.

Rake just sounds boring, uninspired and predictable. Though I guess Roxborough and his ego needed another vehicle once East of Everything was canned.

I was surprised earlier this year when Recue Special Ops was renewed due to terrible writing and even worse ratings. So here’s hoping the writing drastically improves as they have a very talented cast.

So I guess the ABC still likes languishing in creative stagnation. How many years has it been now?

I am really happy that East West 101 is returning (to SBS) in 2010 for a third season. It's a great show.

And the producer (not sure of her name) mentioned this brieflty at the AFI awards a week ago when the show won Best Drama Series.
