Gone: Fifth Grader. Bumped: Lyrics

After Sunday night's atrocious performance by Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader? (US) it will be replaced by Don't Forget the Lyrics.

lyricsThe first change to summer is in.

After Sunday night’s atrocious performance by Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader? (US) on TEN, it has been pulled.

From this Sunday TEN will screen Don’t Forget the Lyrics instead.

We’re going from one American game show to another. Maybe it will sync better with Glee given the musical link. Still, Glee only has two more episodes before it begins its extended break (it isn’t back in the US until April).

That puts Lyrics on both Saturdays and Sundays at 6:30pm, with its first one due this Saturday.

While we’re on the subject, Nine still has some unaired Singing Bee….

  1. I don’t really want to watch American quiz shows of any type.
there is no interest for me in seeing American,Brits, french or Swedes win money or answer questions mainly about their own country.

  2. I love Don’t Forget the Lyrics. It’s a bit of fun and Wayne Brady is a great host.

I stil want ANTM … just putting it out there if you’re listening Channel Ten.

  3. They should’ve just slotted in this week’s ep of Glee in case some people didn’t see it due to the new day. As for The (Celebrity?) Singing Bee I would’ve thought Nine would burn off unaired eps during summer. They probably will if Survivor: Samoa or something else tanks in their schedule.

  4. I for one think this is a good idea. In the first summer Ten ran Lyrics it rated so well they brought it back during the ratings period (although it didn’t do so well there), but perhaps with weaker competition it will do okay.

  5. At least the songs on Don’t Forget the Lyrics are more universal than the intricacies of US government structure.

It should have been Merlin or Glee repeats though.
