Gone: Stargate Universe, Supernatural

By David Knox on December 30, 2009 / Filed Under Programming 236

SupernaturalBoy, that didn’t take long….

TEN has dropped Stargate Universe and Supernatural from Monday nights.

Both shows are now out of schedule, giving the new sci fi just three weeks on air before being pulled.

On Monday night Stargate Universe took 487,000 viewers, leaving Supernatural just 394,000 and more importantly a lowly evening share of just 16% for the night.

They will be replaced by Monday night movies:
Jan 4: The Siege (1998)
Jan 11: Double Jeopardy (1999)
Jan 18: Speed (1994)

TEN is probably working out where to reschedule unaired episodes of both shows…. keep you posted on this one.

    I cant believe this stupidity
No notice and replaced by repeat movies.
There are now 10 FTA channels anything over 10% has to be a bonus.
Thank god I’ve got a good video shop that is more reliable than a TV station.
    And there are no ads

Does anyone seriously believe anyone at ten reads this or gives a damn about what’s written here??? You do??? Hey look: another flying pig!! Like I said in my comment of 5/1, all they understand is $$$$$. If you who say you’re not going to watch ten again are serious about that you need to let ten know. And I don’t mean on that so-called forum on their website: they probably care as much about comments on that as they do about comments here. No; you need to let them know your thoughts: we all need to let ten know our thoughts, whether it be to their head office or your local station. Like Peter Finch’s character said in the movie Network: “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!!”

Supernatural is the best show on tv by far how dare ten take it off twice in 3 or 4 weeks it pathetic know wonder its getting low ratings following on from the crappy sgu wouldnt watch it if you paid me put it on an 830 time slot it would do great bring it back asap and also good work on californication great show

  4. Stefn January 6, 2010 at 4:55 pm -

Any delay of Stargate Universe or Super Natural by any more then three weeks will be a act of stupidity committed by channel 10. This will be unprofessional if channel 10 chooses to go down this road. Network ten should be smarter then channel 7 and not dely any new shows espically SGU or Supernatural. Channel 7 realised their mistake and are now showing double episodes trying to catch up with Stargate Atlantas on 7,2. as they are behind by 1 and half seasons.

Ten, you will end up with even less viewers tuning in as a majority of them will have purchased the DVd’s. You can get away with repeating comedies 6 plus times but not with sci-fi.

  5. Len January 6, 2010 at 3:16 pm -

    BTW everyone ?
The ending of the last episode, is on you tube, as well as a few others after that.
Want to give TEN a message,
    go watch em !
    Knock yourselves out.

  6. u r c*** c10 January 6, 2010 at 3:14 pm -

channel 10……. u suck….. theres even a facebook page about how much u suck

  7. Andy January 6, 2010 at 2:14 pm -

Dear Channel 10,bring back Stargate Universe ASAP!!
You have made an error in judgment by ceasing to air the show on Monday’s at 8.30pm,myself and many others are ardent followers of the series.

  8. Len January 6, 2010 at 9:23 am -

Seriously everyone, I am just as peeved at ten, for canceling (or delaying till April if the rumours are correct), any more episodes of SGU.

I, for one, will not be dictated by some backyard television network anymore. I also cannot afford pay tv, but to satisfy my curiosity about how they escaped “dieing in the star”, I watched it on You Tube. Certainly, it was a pain in the butt, but I will not be a party to network short sightedness and greed.

    Channel Ten
Shame on you, and for my money,
    Get St***ed !

  9. Scud January 6, 2010 at 8:32 am -

Why watch ten at all? what’s to say this wont happen to other shows, please will one of the other channels pick SN up and give it a fair go.

We get screwed over in Australai tv’s no better even with the extra channels, I can’t believe all the repeated movies and shows, especially with all the newer ones available.

  10. Jeremy January 6, 2010 at 12:00 am -

You suck channel 10, you don’t even give SGU a chance to get off the ground. If you have not realised there is a following of stargate fans in Australia who would jump on board if you showed some respect for your viewers. Furthermore SGU will only get off the ground to capture new viewers if you stopped messing around with it and left it at on time once a week, and stopped having so many commercials.

  11. Jeff January 5, 2010 at 11:27 pm -

As much as I was looking forward to SGU I can appreciate that maybe, just maybe, ten had a valid reason for taking it off. What really p****s me off is that ten, like other channels, never gives viewers any explaination or announcement of their intentions. The show just disappears as if it never existed. There is no respect whatsoever for the viewers. Maybe one day enough viewers will get so p****d off there really will be boycotts of stations or at least of certain programmes because the only way to make the stations take any notice is to affect their bottom line, ie, the advertising revenue. It’s not from the viewers that they make their money, it’s from their advertisers. More people need to realise the way this system really works: the shows we watch on TV aren’t there to entertain us: they’re there as bait – we’re just the fish they catch to feed to the advertisers.

  12. David January 5, 2010 at 10:32 pm -

Ahhh Ten, loved NCIS, but they started to run repeat episodes one week then new episodes the next, then not even half way through the new season they stop the new series and just played re-runs. How does this work? If the series wasn’t rating why stop the new series and continue to play repeats of the old series?

Now with SG Universe something new to watch, no endless old repeats, and before viewers have a chance to get to into the series (usually most new series use half the first series to introduce the characters, set the scene and catch viewers interest), but no, they rip it of the air all together after 3 episodes and replace it with crap that they keep repeating and is such poor quality they were probably switched of by viewers half way through the first time they were shown.

I had Foxtel Platinum for 7 years and finally dumped it because the repeats weren’t done just in a 1 month cycle so viewers could “watch shows at a time when they wanted” (as suggested by Fox), but series of shows were repeated again and again every 12 months, depite there being fresh new episodes made now, that weren’t being shown at all. And typically when I rang to say diconnect me they offered me cheaper rates to stay and just couldn’t grasp the concept that I was dumping them becuase I was sick of watching the same repeats. But I should have kept it, at least I would have had over 100 channels of repeats to choose from instead of a few FTA channels, and at least I would have got to see a full season (over and over again, but a full season at least).

I just can’t understand, what happened to the good old days when you sat down at a set time each week to watch a favourite show, and a series used to run for ten months (not ten episodes)?

You can see why commercial stations lobby for funding to the ABC/SBS be cut, they actually have new shows and people seem to be turning to them (just don’t add addvertisments to the ABC like SBS)..

  13. Johno January 5, 2010 at 9:15 pm -

WTF how dare to take them off
    put them back on asap
i am not watching u anymore then

  14. Classfied January 5, 2010 at 7:44 pm -

Someone out there with the skill, and information about ten should hack there computer and plant a program to keep putting the on, if they don’t have the new episodes make there system do rerun of the old episodes until they do. I ‘m sure there some viewer with the necessary information to do this, that might get ten attention, and they would probably put it back on again so that the hacker doesn’t start turning their signal off, and lose them heap of business.

  15. Ant January 5, 2010 at 7:24 pm -

SGU was great ten u are wrong with taken it off. Put it back on. Everyone stop watching ten. That will show them. People power will win over these.

  16. emma January 5, 2010 at 5:46 pm -

if channel ten wants more veiwers for these fantastic tv series then mabey they should stop talking them of ******* tv jeezes just pls put it back on

  17. Jack! January 5, 2010 at 5:44 pm -

Boy this is a huge topic!!
See how outraged the viewers are Channel 10!!!!!!
Stop ignoring reality and act responsibly for once in your life …
Has anyone asked … Where have they gone to????
    Jack!

  18. Browny January 5, 2010 at 4:13 pm -

At least Channel Ten could just put Stargate on at 11pm. The Sci-fi minded will cop with that. Channel 9 did this with Star Trek – Next Gen for years. At least I got to see how Battlestar Galactica ended elsewhere.

  19. clayton baxter January 5, 2010 at 4:07 pm -

Its very simple, keep a record of who advertises in these time slots, when the station does a stupid act like this write to the customer service and marketing office telling them you are going to boycott their products because of the decision, and if it is not reversed within say three to four weeks then start boycotting those products. One of the fundamental problems with FTA is that they are all trying for the same target audience at the same time, when are they going to learn that if you aim for a different audience than your competitor then your numbers go up.

  20. Gez n Steve January 5, 2010 at 4:07 pm -

We discovered at 830: SGU has been pulled by Ch10 with little notice to anybody. Annoyed. We had everything organised for a great sci fi night. Back to the DVD

  21. Robo January 5, 2010 at 1:31 pm -

How could you do this the only two shows l watch on Monday replaced with crappy movies it is an insult to the world of television just buy the dvd for each series & let the tele stations go broke do not watch any thing on channel 10 for the next few months in protest.

  22. Stef January 5, 2010 at 1:19 pm -

I didnt think Channel 10 would do a channel 7 or channel 9 on us with Stargate or Supernatural. but in the culture of recent FTA television it is to become expected.

To the program director at ten here is a new promoo idea for ya, with Misha Collins & Jared Padalecki

“Check out live interniews with Supernatural stars Micha and Jared where they speak candiatlly about stuffing up the viewership of its fan base by the pulling off of Tv shows Supernatural and Stargate after failing to pull the shows off as a sexy, sex filled rubbing frenzy”.

Im having 2nd thoughts about convicing FFA to sign channel 10 up the FTA TV rights for the A league after this.

  23. Steve January 5, 2010 at 11:49 am -

I agree with all the program supporters, that this was crap, to make it wores they pulled itf during a to be continued episode

To me this means 1/ do they watch their own shows or 2// they don’t care about us the viewers even if we are a small persentage

  24. Robbo January 5, 2010 at 10:39 am -

I was in the same boat as ceejay. Clearly commercial FTA broadcasters here place no value on viewer loyalty!

  25. Scud January 5, 2010 at 8:54 am -

It’s a joke, I remember when 10 stuffed up the last series of the X Files, they only seem interested in reality rubbish and crimes shows, theirs no loyalty to viewers and it’s an insult to have old movies on in their place. I wish Supernatural would go to SBS and Top Gear was staying there.

  26. Kylie January 5, 2010 at 4:49 am -

I am so p*ssed off! Like Robyn I am on dialup as well and have no other means of watching TV other than on free-to air (Not HD) TV or TV series boxsets when they are out.
I love Supernatural and have watched every ep on TV, and as others have mentioned I also know no-one with a ratings box.

  27. ceejay January 4, 2010 at 11:05 pm -

Checked paper TV guide (out of Sunday paper) Yes SGU is on. Checked Web TV guide (Tonight) Yes SGU is on. Sat down to watch it. Crap movie on instead. why take this show off in the first place and surely the channel could have notified the paper or at least updated their Own website. Thats really annoying and plain lazy.

  28. Andrew January 4, 2010 at 10:54 pm -

The commercial television networks in this country suck. They have no loyalty to any shows fan base and they treat the veiwing public like morons by putting on repeats of b and c grade movies. So I will be getting my fix of Supernatural and Stargate Universe and every other series that has been screwed with by the networks from elsewhere or I will simply buy the box sets of the series. I refuse to have Foxtel put on, it is certainly not worth the cost, lets face it if I wanted to be bored with reruns I’d stick to watching commercial television.

  29. Rach January 4, 2010 at 10:54 pm -

I finally get everything rearranged, tuck in for my Monday night fix – way past my bed time BTW, and channel 10 have done this Again!!!! I’ve have been waiting for this episode of Supernatural since I read the blurb – classic set up – and instead we get 90′s movies and no time slot to look out for. Plus, I’m becoming a bit partial to Stargate Universe.

Maybe if we tell them that it’s a reality show . . . I’m sure we’ll have it on every night till the end of time then.

  30. BoredwithTen January 4, 2010 at 10:46 pm -

When Ten first aired SGU I reluctantly watched it because I’m a sci-fi buff and I’ve enjoyed SG – reluctantly because I am familiar with Ten’s history of canning shows midway and their greediness for advertising. Well Ten, you lived up to my expectations. I suffered through the first episode though continuity was incredibly difficult due to the stunning number of adds (such that SGU seemed like the commercial break!). And now, it is gone. Not good Ten. It won’t matter the movie you replace these shows with, I won’t be watching – yes, sure, something about nose, spite and face, but protest as I can, I will. Just do us a favour – Stop bidding for these great shows and let other networks air them instead. So, so bored with Ten.

  31. Kissme January 4, 2010 at 10:29 pm -

They may change it to midday airing, its what they did with charmed

  32. MotherCAT January 4, 2010 at 10:09 pm -

I turned on channel 10 – the only night I don’t stick with the ABC – for my sci-fi fix. @#$%&* it’s not only teenage boys who like that stuff. Oh well, back to the ABC…

  33. ant January 4, 2010 at 10:02 pm -

I have had a gutful of Ten. They do this constantly, the channel must be run by idiots. I turned the TV on tonight to watch Supernatural and there was a movie on.

They get the good shows, and then move them from night to night, take them off for weeks, and then wonder why they don’t get an audience.

Season 4 has gone on sale here, apparently, so I’ll be buying it for sure. And if it wasn’t, I’d just order it from the US. Non-region-encoded DVD players are so very civilised.

And I most certainly will not be watching their movies. If White Collar’s season wasn’t ending, I’m sure they’d shaft that, too.

  34. Siobhan January 4, 2010 at 9:53 pm -

I was so excited when I heard channel ten was going to be showing stargate universe.
    F*** you channel ten!!!

  35. brooklyn January 4, 2010 at 9:49 pm -

I am sick of channel ten, its pathetic. Its the only good show on at the moment, and you take it off!
Channel 10, get your act together,
Staregate i can understand but supernatural?
    come on,
    dont be pathetic

  36. Gkman January 4, 2010 at 9:45 pm -

My God, Why do these stupid execs put on a show at such a stupid time-slot in the first place.
The should know by now that fans are becoming so sick and tired of the same old movies and repeats that no wonder they have no loyal viewers anymore.

I am totally sick of it all

  37. will January 4, 2010 at 9:40 pm -

Adding a show to take it off after three showings, well that’s just a lame way to behave. Don’t the media in this country bother to test market?

*laughter rings* … oh yes of course they reckon screening three episodes is a “test market” over christmas when everone is on holidays, etc, etc.

quote of the week: “not happy Ten”

  38. Tiana January 4, 2010 at 9:34 pm -

This is totally unfair. I am sick of channel ten, its pathetic. Its the only good show on atm, and you take it off! channel ten sucks.

  39. Trix January 4, 2010 at 8:59 pm -

OMG, here we go again, channel friggin ten has done it again!!! oh yay crappy movies instead of Supernatural (my fav show), this time of year there is nothing to watch and then the only show worth watching during the week is pulled off in favour of some filler of a movie…..Maybe the people at channel ten are getting old and it’s time to reitre them in favour of people with Taste!!!

  40. cherrie January 4, 2010 at 8:56 pm -

agree with all the previous comments I love sci fi and couldnt believe that we could finally see some on free to air tv at a decent time. Can the ratings really be trusted at this time of year anyway given so many people have been at Christmas functions and are on hols etc.. I would be surprised if the crappy movies they are showing got better ratings!

at least we have sg Atlantis on 7 two

  41. notthedemographic January 4, 2010 at 8:52 pm -

Well you’ve got to expect this from 10 after all One and not 10 is the principal channel so the network make no bones that they are the ‘meathead’ network, and shows that require any sort of thinking by the viewer are not for them. It’s just a pity that they feel obliged to buy the rights to these kinds of shows instead f letting them go to 9 or 7 (either of which would have relegated them to their secondary channel too, but would have at least run them (though Go hasn’t exactly got a great track record for this kind of show either). Bring on the end to sport going to the free to airs so the Ten network wont be able to afford to stay on air.

  42. TJet January 4, 2010 at 8:49 pm -

Maybe if tv stations started showing some loyalty to their viewers they may get some loyalty in return. Lost track of the number of shows I’ve started to watch and enjoy, only to have them pulled from the air. No wonder people download tv shows from the internet rather than take the risk of watching them on FTA.

It seems 10 have forgotten how long it took X Files to become popular and what a big hit it was for them. All they want now is instant hits and aren’t prepared to wait and build an audience.

  43. u r c*** c10 January 4, 2010 at 8:24 pm -

………….. i cant believe it……….. u finally get a good show that has a decent time slot and u axe it………. plz do us all a favour and just give those rights to channel 7……. at least they dont cancel everything that people accually like

  44. Lisa January 4, 2010 at 8:06 pm -

If this is supposed to be non-ratings season, why do Ten even care about the numbers of viewers. Do something right for the fans for once and just air Supernatural or pass it on to Foxtel. Ten seriously sucks. Replacing New TV shows with movie repeats from the 90′s. That is truly pathetic.

  45. Gabie January 4, 2010 at 8:02 pm -

I’m not surprised in the slightest.

For four entire seasons I have put up with the crap that Ten has put us (Supernatural fans) through and resisted temptation to watch it via other means but I think I’ve had enough.
Maybe they’d have a few more viewers if they played it sooner rather than later and with some consistency.. they’ve only got themselves to blame for the poor ratings.

  46. ashleigh January 4, 2010 at 7:44 pm -

what the hell is going on with channel 10, supernatural shouldnt be canceled is an awesome show and it fans wont stop until it’s back on the air. This is seriously rediculous you air supernatural one week and then its not on the next. Get your s**t sorted out, and stop getting all the die hard supernatural fan hopes up, that its on for good. But its not.
please channel 10 bring supernatural back for good.

  47. Amie January 4, 2010 at 7:26 pm -

Why oh why do they even bother. Give Supernatural to Foxtel, let them run it exclusive, every ep – all in a row – and more than likely on the same night for 22 weeks….
Repeats of movies. Oh yeah, that’s gonna pull them in.
P.S. Channel 10, do you ever read you forums on your site – you need to go there and see the pages and pages of comments about Supernatural being dropped…
But, hey, of course, there are no fans and no-one watches it – Channel 10 knows best because obviously, they are geniuses!

  48. Tricia January 4, 2010 at 7:26 pm -

I love scifi and am disgusted that once again another programme will not be shown. Give them a chance. Where can we watch scifi? Pay TV is not worth getting. Thank goodness for DVD’s. The movies are always repeats – nothing to watch on 10 now. Goodbye channel 10. You are a great disappointment

  49. donna January 4, 2010 at 7:07 pm -

Anyone who has a problem should contact channel 10 direct, flood them with emails and force them to put the show back on.

Shame on you channel 10, replacing our shows with utter crap.

  50. Robyn January 4, 2010 at 5:06 pm -

What the hell is wrong with Channel Ten???!!!! Fans of Supernatural have waited Months for the new season, we get a few weeks and they take it off air again!!! Now I really do believe it should be on a channel that respects loyal viewers. I reckon it even would be better on SBS! Seriously Ten, you replace a great show (sorry, never watched Stargate) before the fan base can get back up, with crappy B-Grade movies? Instead of trying to keep people happy by moving it to another time-slot (still would’ve been pi**ed, but at least I could still watched it), but you take it of completely? And because some of us have dial-up, we can’t even watch it on the internet! You ruin Dexter, you ruin Supernatural, and try to appease people by putting on movies you have run 100 times? I am certainly not watching Channel Ten anytime soon.

  51. emma January 4, 2010 at 4:07 pm -

wat the hell are these people doin you arent meant to poss the fans off

  52. emma January 4, 2010 at 4:05 pm -

this is so not kool im only 12 and i love supernatural and i want it back on tv its like the best show ever i hav all 4 seasons and i want to see the next episode and im sure other people agree with me so i say they shoud put it back on…………..
    please please please please!!!!

  53. Paul Kelly January 4, 2010 at 3:36 pm -

Typical of thr TV channels – absolutley no thought for the customer.
Just because we don’t actually pay them direct they think they can do anything

  54. ScottyH January 4, 2010 at 12:51 pm -

Channel 10 don’t deserve any viewers this summer. These 2 shows plus Californication are the only shows I’m watching on 10.
    Another Fail!

  55. Agent 86 January 4, 2010 at 9:13 am -

    Boo!

I’ve waited long enough for channel 10 to actually screen the new episodes. I guess I’ll have to view them via other means.

Even if channel 10 can’t be bothered showing them at a decent timeslot, put it on at 3:00am on Wednesdays or some other equally random time so that I can at least record it and watch it later. Stupid channel 10.

    Actually, stupid channels 7, 9 and 10.

  56. Leigh January 4, 2010 at 12:16 am -

I think that the sci-fi fans are their own worst enemy. Which fans are most likely to have already downloaded and watched episodes of shows hmm? Perhaps that is why the ratings are so low that these shows are no longer viable. Patience is virtue.

  57. John January 3, 2010 at 11:56 pm -

Well thank god for other means. One day the trained monkeys that run commercial TV (and probably moderate this forum) will find a clue.

  58. Woody January 3, 2010 at 10:30 pm -

Channel 10: who needs diversity when you can have medium level hollywood hits?

  59. Shelley January 3, 2010 at 5:52 pm -

I give up! Honestly, if we can’t even see these shows in non-ratings, when are we ever??? Can we add Double Jeopardy to that list of movies on contant rotation at Ten?! Ugh!

  60. DENIS January 3, 2010 at 2:17 pm -

Like a heroin addict having habit modification via methadone I get excited by a free to air channel promising to broadcast a pay TV programme ( in this case Universe) only to have it taken away, forcing people back to the unseemly dark world of the bit torrent…….oh well to bad watched the whole series now.
This knee jerk dropping bulls**t has got to stop I want to hear from some of these Phantom recipients of these rating boxes if we are to believe that Stargate Universe took 487,000 viewers how do they get that figure if 90 percent of every one who reads this site has never even met someone who has ever had one.

  61. Tish January 3, 2010 at 1:13 pm -

Stargate Universe dropped after only three episodes? Well there’s a surprise. Not. I could not believe what utter garbage the show is. Sorry for the Supernatural fans I know it has a following but Universe was just so awful I’m surprised it hasn’t been cancelled yet altogether.

  62. critic January 3, 2010 at 12:10 pm -

Id be surprised but im not cos this is Australian TV networks we’re talking about so once again fans are left f***** in the a**e

  63. Minnie January 3, 2010 at 11:35 am -

Well, yet another reason not to watch Channel Ten, or any of the main commercial channels really. Fortunately I have a source of SPN, but this sucks major rocks. Major fail, Ten, major fail.

  64. Paull January 3, 2010 at 10:50 am -

Ten is no better than nine. The only channel that treats viewers respectfully is seven if a show isn’t going well instead of canning it, they just move it to a later time slot.

What needs to happn is all people with ratings boxes should go on strike! They should turn off the boxes for summer, so that it truely can be a non ratings period.

  65. Andrew January 3, 2010 at 10:02 am -

I know they would do this. I gave up on 10 last year when they scrwed us over with Season 4. I followed a friend and just waited for it to be released on dvd in the US then bought it, incl postage for a cheap $50.

This year I decide to do the same, no watching on TV just buy the dvd when it’s out. However I got a nice surprise Chrismas morning when a firend included the firrt 10 eps on dvd. woo hoo.

    So bye-bye Ch 10, I know you’d stuff it up .

PS. I also didn’t watch Startgate U, as I knew you’d do the same to that.

  66. Dr John Smith January 2, 2010 at 11:38 pm -

Just remember this one fact, about 1000 people on behalf of the suits & bean counters(The most powerful people in the country) determine what the rest of the country watches.

Just wait and see how long “V” will last on the Nine network If or when they decide to show it.

    Place your bets people.

I would give it 2 to 3 weeks before it’s gets boned or moved to GO!….

This is one of the stupidest things Ten has ever done, and that’s saying something. Supernatural Rocks! Of course their viewing numbers might be up if they fast-tracked it instead of waiting so long. Big mistake.

Nooooooooooo!!!! I couldn’t believe they swapped the Supernatural time, but this, pulling it off! I had so much faith in Ten to play this correctly, now to do this! Of course there was going to be low numbers last week, it is the silly season

Sorry if i missed it but is there an actual purpose to constantly repeating the same movies (and not a smart arse answer like “to p*** off sci-fi fancs). I mean, is it cheaper/more cost effective for the station to show Love Actually the 15th time than the first run episodes of supernatural, stargate if they already own the broadcast rights to both? If Ten were paying to make the show then i could see why it would be cancelled with those numbers. Or is ad revenue that touchy that it goes up if an old (but not a classic) movie is shown over previously unaired episodes? I like Supernatural and got to see it by other means, and as soon as Ten started being coy about when the current season would air knew i’d made the right choice. Since Supernatural has developed a more ongoing style of storytelling compared to earlier seasons i hold out little hope for it ever recovering more viewers – it’s not rocket science but still would be a little tough for brand new viewers to get into it with chopping and changing.

It’d be great if TEN launches another channel to capitalise on the decent ratings GO! and Seven Two get.

They can then screen shows that have loyal followings but just don’t seem to rate well on the main channel like;-

Supernatural, Smallville, Monk, Will and Grace, The Office (US), Medium, Dexter Nurse Jackie, Flight of the conchords, Number, LAw and Order
    and many others

It’s a shame that TEN sometimes screen a show at a regular hour and then dump it at midnight and then 1am or even 2am like they did with Nurse Jackie
    and Dexter.

Dexter and Monk recently broke ratings records in the US with their final and finale shows respectively.

These are quality shows that deserve to be shown on freeto air and not exclusively for the payTV customers.

I don’t know if it was the holidays or I was seeing things but I swear TEN aired a SG:U ad new years eve so maybe they changed back again?

Apologies to the people who liked Stargate Universe … but I didn’t.
The only one of this series I liked was Stargate: SG1
All the others just lack something SG1 had.
It doesn’t surprise me that Channel 10 is taking it off.
I could only watch about 20 minutes before I turned it off.

Great, we were at least giving SGU a go, there’s just not enough sci-fi and quality drama on the commercials.

I’ve been flirting with dropping Austar hoping that the multi-channels might pick up some of the slack, but of course I was being overly optimistic, their scheduling just can’t be trusted.

Well guys not only did SGU get dumped on Channel 10,

but it also was dumped during the Christmas, break Scyfy didn’t broadcast the Christmas marathon.

truly?…three movies that have been on thousands of times? TEN has lost the plot Big Time….I could do a better job in the programming department than the monkeys they have there now.

Ten is turning onto a bot of a nine. I would understand dropping the shows if it was ratings season, but it’s not! They should have kept the shows and listened to all those bloggers.

Any wonder why 10 falls behind in the ratings all the time can’t keep the shows going for a full season.
Even if SGU is a bit slow will still give it a go and see if it improves, and that is typical for Supernatural on and off whenever they feel like it, have to find something else to do monday nights now

I don’t know what I can write that hasn’t been written before, I love Supernatural and am totally disgusted with the way Channel 10 has shown it and the fans, so much Disrespect. I’ve also been on the Channel 10 forums and I can tell you that they don’t listen to the fans over there either, what the heck is wrong with them??? I’m sure they think that Supernatural only attracts younger viewers but I have been to some crowded Supernatural conventions and the wide range of ages of the fans is staggering, from approx 8 year olds to people in their 60′s and 70′s. Channel 10 do not realise what they have and continue to not listen to their viewers, that just doesn’t make sense to me, how can you run a business and not listen to your customers? I sure do hope that this is just a minor schedule change and that they do not cancel Supernatural.

As I said almost at the beginning of this thread – why are we talking about how much it rates when both shows are shown during the ‘Non-ratings period’??

The term should be just that – to establish shows during a time when ratings aren’t important in order to develop a loyal audience.

I find it bizarre that shows are taken off during this period when rating points aren’t supposed to matter.

‘Non-ratings period’ used to mean just that 20/30 years ago – not now it seems……
