as far as good summers leading to good february’s go. 7 and 9 don’t really need to care all that much about the current period as they both have sporting events at the end of summer that can pick up any slack created during summer. ten is the one that need the big summer programming push. and ten’s good summer lineup (according to commenters on this site) isn’t really paying off. those shares are not too good, and i rekon will only get worse with less premiers. and without titanic preventing their saturday from being a total disaster.

When 7 dug themselves out of their grave a few years back, they did it on the back of a successful summer…just saying

I know a lot of people don’t care about non-ratings period, but that win for Nine would still mean a lot. People still watch television over the summer. Nine usually wins a lot of weeks over the summer period, so this is a good chance for Nine to bring back some of its loyalty with viewers. They will be able to begin 2010 on the greatest high possible and they have already gone in that direction by acquiring the rights to broadcast the Sydney New Year’s Eve Fireworks.
