Absolutely Jack!, with the UK releases you can be sure they'll play on your Aussie player, but for the US discs there are web sites out there which will tell you which discs are All Regions or which ones are Region A. Hence I went and bought a Japanese player a few years back to play my Region A purchases cause I can't wait for some movies and TV shows to be released here.

Marco ... sorry to scare you ... the UK version of "Torchwood: Children Of Earth" on Blu Ray was Region 2 and all the rest now have no indication of Zoning on them ... when I contacted Amazon they were very vague with the response ...
But looking now it seems that we can "assume" that all UK Blu Ray discs are Zone B unless otherwise stated ... which is great for us ... not so with the US stuff.
However, we are usually very close to the UK with Blu Ray releases whereas normal Doctor Who DVDs are three months behind...
I'm am looking forward to the "Complete Winter Specials" Blu Ray as well.

@ Marco ... make sure those UK Blu Rays are Zoned B only ... and not B 2 or they will not play on your Aussie Blu Ray. (Ours play B or 4 only!!!) Totally offensive practice that they do this just to play money games!
The SD only routine by the ABC for Doctor Who is insulting too!!!

Peter O'Brien is a fine actor and very versatile at what he does.

He actually used to teach at my old school in Adelaide - I think for only about 4 months in 1984 - but everyone used to talk about it all the time when he became a big star in Neighbours, etc.

Whatever success he's had he's earned so I'll be happy to see him in the latest Doctor Who. Hopefully the last 2 Tennant specials won't be too long after their UK airings.

Doctor Who: The Waters of Mars airs 7:30pm Sunday on ABC1 in SD and on ABCHD in upscaled SD! ;-) I've already put in my pre-order for the UK blu-rays out on January 11, ABC!
