Whatever went down behind the cameras with Kevin Rudd at Friday’s ABC3 launch nobody is saying…
But now it involves the Australian Federal Police, the silent treatment from ABC Management, and the silent treatment from the PM’s office.
ABC Online reported yesterday that a number of contract cleaners had been marched off the premises following a security scare, also being branded as a prank.
But their union says the cleaners involved had not contacted the Liquor, Hospitality and Miscellaneous Workers Union.
According to the Sunday Age, ABC managing director Mark Scott sent a memo to ABC staff yesterday saying no further comment would be made on the incident. It had been referred to federal police, who in turn refused to confirm or deny anything. A spokesman for Mr Rudd’s office refused to comment whilst ABC head of corporate communications Sandy Culkoff did not return calls to the newspaper.
Meanwhile, ABC’s Ultimo foyer is apparently a mess because there had been no one to clean up confetti from the launch celebrations.
Throughout most of the Countdown to 3, new kid’s show Prank Patrol was plugged as one of the channel’s new shows. Looks like somebody may have taken it a little too literally….

If “by getting away” you mean the people responsible were Sacked then it’s a bit different from a suspension isn’t it?
So ABC3 gets away with a security incident, yet the chaser were suspended for two weeks…
A voter told him he was doing a good job…..
Haha, a prank against Krudd. Nice one!
Slime Rudd! Slime Rudd…
Anyone else wish they would pull a stunt like on the Kids Choice awards and dump green slime on Rubb?
