i missed it on TEN!! I had absolutely no idea it was broadcast on free to air in Australia. Of all the radio news advertising this got, they only mentioned pay tv to show it in Australia… How many people in my position who would of had a big gathering at their house that night, and not realise something so important was being aired?

@T-Mac: one of the 9/11 telethons did air on free-to-air TV in Australia, on Channels Seven and Nine if I remember correctly.

It is good to see Ten has picked it up. Looking at the programming, Nine could easily pick it up as well. I would have been surprised if Seven (Australian Open), ABC (WNBL) or SBS (Tour Down Under) would have made it live on their main channels.

Its good to see Network TEN picked this up, i wished all the FTAs or atleast more then 1 would have screened it live or atleast shown highlights late on, it is really good to see foxtel channels pick it up as well, I should point out none of those channels are owned by foxtel at all, It is really good to see MTV will screen it around the world just because MTV is available in so many places, and seeing that both Style and E! are owned by the same people its sraged they would start it on each channel 30mins after each other, Also good to see CNN & National Geographic Channel showing it seeing they are both in the foxtel basic package, i wonder if it will be in HD?

@Kenny: I was talking about telethons related to the disaster, not coverage of the disaster itself. There were a couple of star-studded 9/11 benefits, none of which aired on FTA in this country (they aired on Fox8 and other Foxtel channels). Compare this to the two disasters I mentioned, which were both apparently worthy of their own, all-Aussie telethons.

@T-Mac. Just as our FTAs devoted endless hours to 9/11, even though “there wasn’t a lot of Australian involvement”. Then, that was the great God “America”. This is just some remote outpost that most have never heard of. And they’re black and they don’t trade with us and we don’t even know where Haiti is. Uugh. I could spew.
Perhaps GO! or 7TWO could replace two hours of their ancient junk or irrelevant “makeover” shows?
