GO! joins Foxtel satellite

From Wednesday, GO! becomes available to Foxtel satellite viewers on the East Coast.

Foxtel satellite viewers on the East Coast will finally get to see GO! from tomorrow.

So far the channel has been available to Foxtel cable viewers in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, but from Wednesday it becomes available via Channel 129 on satellite.

Still no word on any changes for viewers in Adelaide and Perth where Nine / GO! are part of the WIN Television network.

Update: Nine has kindly advised further information for Austar and Optus Subscribers as follows:

Austar
GO! is available to Austar subscribers who have a MyStar or MyStarHD PVR, and a local TV antenna that picks up Ch9 or WIN. This has been the case since last August and there is no change. Austar customers with a standard STB must rely on their local TV antenna and must have a digital TV to receive GO!

Optus
Optus Vision is a reseller of the Foxtel service to some cable-connected homes in metro markets. They are dependent on the Foxtel satellite system to receive their channels and will be providing GO! in Sydney Melbourne and Brisbane tomorrow morning at the same time as the Foxtel launch (about 6am).

  1. Daran,

You’re not the only ones to miss out. Darwin is still waiting to get GO! It says “coming soon” on freeview, but how soon? Now it’s on Foxtel there is no excuse for Nine Darwin not to provide GO! Six months, and still waiting and counting! Not good enough Nine Darwin!

  2. Must agree about Foxtel half delivering! Promotional material for Sky News active included all channels to be full screen and this did not happen. New Generation it is not!

  3. Stop ‘thanking’ Foxtel people. This is late and still doesnt sort out WIN etc. We pay for a service – they are not doing us a favour. Dont allow yourselves to accept second rate service and then be grateful when they half deliver.

  4. hey I upgraded my tv so have had Go! for a month or so and enjoying it.
Its great to know Foxtel now has it because, it means that if something clashes I can IQ it and watch it later so thankyou Foxtel and Go!

  5. You know what i have had it free to air not being available for satellite viewers in Adelaide. I just bought myself a playtv system for the PS3. Does exactly the same as foxtel IQ, records, rewinds, programs etc for $160.00. I love my foxtel and would never get rid of it but would really like the FTA available too … oh well I am appeased for now with the playstation attachment.

  6. yeaah, I turned on my foxtel this morning and there was GO!…Unfortunately I have been waiting for GO! to watch ‘Charlie’s Angels’ the Shelley Hack year and it Is on but is up to episode 20….so I only get to see 4 episodes 🙁

  7. With Go! now on satellite, it only leaves the FTA HD’s without a spot on the satellite.

Why bother asking for One, if the SD version is being converted into Ten’s third channel.

More satellite subscribers would get the IQ2 if the FTA HD’s were provided, for free, not with the $10 you pay for the HD versions of Fox8 etc.

  8. yay as an optus suscriber i am very happy to get GO as my big screen tv is connected to foxtel only. Be awsome to watch The Vampire Diaries on my flat screen.

David quick question, any news about OneSD on Optus. I mainly ask since that will be tens 3rd channel and id like to get it on my big TV. Also i prefer sport on my big TV as well while it last

  9. Finally I can record GO shows on my IQ2 rather than watching them live or using my pre-IQ set up with an old set top box and DVD burner to record.

On just in time for the next ER episode! At our house, the result will be more GO watched.

  10. I’m on cable in Perth and we got GO at the same time the eastern states did last year. It just doesn’t have proper EPG listings because there’s no deal with WIN.

  11. Does this mean in Brisbane that Foxtel satellite viewers see Go! an hour before everyone else, or are there different Go! feeds for each of the eastern states (Vic, NSW, Qld)?

  12. Great news for me in Melbourne (sorry to my more western neaighbours)…

WPMO is that Foxtel refuse to list all the FTA channels in one spot in the guide, instead only listing the primary channels… It’s psychological thing on their behalf, of course, but it’s bloody annoying.

  13. Damn! Stupid WIN, I wish they would just go broke and Nine was run as a country wide network, affiliate are terrible.
I’m in Adelaide, and do not get any of the commercial FTA channels on Foxtel Satellite, by my cable freinds do. The cable service is extremely limited in Adelaide, with satellite dishes in the metro area.
If FTA was on satellite, I may actually watch them, as I would see their guide as a scroll though to see what is on.
