Returning: Sanctuary

Canadian sci-fi series Sanctuary, created by Melbourne-born writer Damian Kindler, returns to the Sci Fi Channel in February.

Canadian sci-fi series Sanctuary returns to the Sci Fi Channel next month, for another 13 episodes.

The series was created by Melbourne-born writer Damian Kindler, who has also written for Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis.

Season 2 premieres in a double-episode special and begins as Dr. Magnus (Amanda Tapping) continues her desperate search for Ashley, who is still held prisoner by the Cabal. Together, Magnus and John Druitt interrogate their most elusive contacts around the globe in an attempt to find her and make sense of the Cabal’s plan.

Sanctuary follows the adventures of the beautiful, enigmatic and always surprising Dr. Helen Magnus (Amanda Tapping – Stargate SG-1), her new recruit, forensic psychiatrist Dr. Will Zimmerman and her fearless daughter Ashley. Together they track down, study and protect the strange and often terrifying creatures that secretly populate our world and live among us. Will, an insightful psychiatric profiler with a knack for finding the strange and curious, reluctantly joins the team to aid in the study of beings he can hardly believe himself. Together, Magnus, Will, Ashley and quirky tech-whiz Henry, use their unique combination of instinct, medicine and cutting edge technology to find the creatures that lurk in the corners of our civilization and protect us from those too dangerous to be roaming free. Christopher Heyerdahl (Stargate Atlantis) also stars as the sinister John Druitt.

It begins with a feature-length premiere on Thursday February 11 at 8.30pm and continues with single episodes from Thursday, February 18 at 8.30pm.

  1. @bindi ABC2 will start showing Season 1 of Sanctuary on Monday 1st March 2010 at 9:30pm

I thought the show started off slow but really started to find it’s legs around mid season. This is my favourite show at the moment, not as great as the webisodes but a really entertaining show. Season 2 is even better!
