Can’t be sure how long this one will stick around, but British crime drama Waking the Dead starring Trevor Eve and Tara Fitzgerald is returning to Nine later this month.
These episodes from Series 7 aired in the UK in April 2008.
Nine will screen double episodes, which is handy given they are all two-parters.
“Missing Persons” airs at 9:30pm Wednesday January 20th. There’s no way Nine could realistically get through all 12 episodes before ratings resume, so don’t hedge your bets on any more than 3 double-parters just yet.
An eighth series began airing in the UK in September.

How can you continually say Waking the Dead is going to be shown when clearly you have no idea what is happening with your programming. Some explanation should go to air.
I’ve given up with channel 9, in my opinion they just can’t be trusted as they have only shown partial series at best. Why they don’t just onsell the rights to the ABC I don’t know. At least the ABC would show it as it is quality drama.
Anyway, it has forced me to watch the series elsewhere as the BBC shop doesn’t even have Series 7 yet on their site.
I ‘ve also give up on waking the dead I noticed the last TV programming by nine doesn’t even mention the show so I guess this means we don’t get to see it again.
I am very disappointed in Channel Nine especially in they way they continually move screening times or remove completely programs they advertise. I have given up trying to watch “Waking the Dead” and will now buy the DVDs
What happened to the announced screeing of ‘Waking the Dead’ by Channel 9, have you, the Sydney Morning Herald TV Guide and viewers been misled yet again by Channel 9? Instead we got old episodes of Cold Case on Wednesday 27, January, is there any hope that this crime series will come back to free to air TV?
It looks like WTD will not air again tonight!! It is in none of the guides online. This is very disappointing!
why are they showing two episodes of cold case and not waking the dead? as listed?

Ok what happened we watched CH 9 last night waiting for ‘WTD” & it wasn’t on???
Ummmm…they haven’t shown most of season 5 (I only recall seeing the first 2 eps of s5) and none of season 6.
Series 8 is on UKTV soon.Has Nine shown every episode from the first 6 series ?
i thought they’d only shown the first 2 or 3 series
So this will replace The Commander?? Hopefully Nine will chuck them both to Go! if they can’t finish the run on the main channel.

Having watched (UKTV) every episode of Waking the Dead I recommend it anyone who hasn’t seen it previously.
Good plots and superb acting.
