After two weeks of losing to Nine, the Seven Network hit back last week, thanks in no small part to the Australian Open. However one media report last week suggested tennis audiences are significantly down on last year.
Despite this the Seven Network won Week 4 with 31.4% share to Nine’s 27.5% and TEN’s 17.7%. The ABC had 16.9% and SBS 6.5%.
The ABC lost quite a bit of ground this week, but managed to sneak ahead of TEN on its usual Friday night and even Nine and TEN on Saturday.
The biggest audience for the week was Seven News on Monday with 1.37m viewers which averaged the week on 1.22m and finishing as the #1 show.
Official ratings resume in two weeks.

My gosh, look at TEN – what the hell are they doing over there?
@ Sarah, I agree and will listen to the match online if Ch 7 Qld again fails to show Live Tennis.
Only if live. I’d rather listen online than have my friends in Ireland text me the result because they can watch it live and I can’t, despite actually living in Australia…
I expect a massive audience for Monday night with the likely match to be Hewitt Vs. Federer.
