Shameless plug time: 2010 Bloggies

Yesterday's comments for the site's birthday were so generous, how can I not draw your attention to the 2010 Bloggies -currently seeking nominations.

trophyYesterday’s comments for the site’s birthday were so generous, how can I not draw your attention to the 2010 Bloggies?

They are currently taking nominations for the best blogs on the web.

To nominate you must use and verify a valid email. It looks like 3 blogs must be nominated in each submission. If you attempt to submit a second ballot, your first one will be replaced. There is no limit to the number of categories a blog may be nominated for.

There are at least two categories that would be relevant for this site:
– Best Australian / NZ Blog (2009 went to Girl with a Satchel)
– Best Entertainment Blog (**shakes fist at Television Without Pity** owned by Bravo)

Finalists are drawn from the blogs that draw the most nominations (nudge, nudge). By nominating you could also be randomly asked to choose Finalists in other categories. Or it might be a bit like the Ratings, where suddenly a result is chosen but nobody knows how it got there. Kidding.

TV Tonight doesn’t often fare well in these kind of things, due to competing with sites that have 100% original content, as opposed to a mix of original / aggregation. But then they don’t often match the output either. And international judges never quite seem to get the news-worthiness of Programming amendments. Clearly they haven’t spent any time living with our networks.

Anyway, if you’re still reading this you might just be motivated to put in a good word. After all the Logies aren’t about to honour this site anytime soon!

You can vote here.

Shameless plug over.

  1. There was something like 20-30 to chose from in each category. Not all categories you could nominate were there – such as entertainment (would love to have seen the entertainment finalists).

I’d say all the nominations went towards making these lists to chose from. Could chose up to 5 in each cat or just leave them blank.

  2. I was selected as a panelist for the bloggies, and tvtonight.com.au was in two final categories: best Australian / NZ blog and best blog overall.

Good luck, hope there are enough other finalist panelists who also vote tvtonight!

  3. Done and done. I don’t go on any other entertainment blogs though so I had to randomly pick a couple from the TVTonight links page for the other two. Also, horizontal scrolling = fail.
