Survivor: Heroes v Villains cast

By David Knox on January 8, 2010 / Filed Under News 32

Survivor_rupertSurvivor‘s Rupert and Russell are back for more.

They will return to the show for the next season “Heroes v Villains” along with Coach from Tocantins, Sugar from Gabon, Parvati from Cook Islands and Reality addict ‘Boston’ Rob from Marquesas (he has also appeared in the All Stars edition as well as The Amazing Race!).

Colby and Jerri from Survivor: Australian Outback are included.

Absent from the list is the devious Johnny ‘Fairplay’ (could there be a twist?).

The list is close to those rumoured on fansites, and was drawn from a preview screened in the US during the People’s Choice Awards. It includes both winners and non-winners (just for those still watching Samoa, it doesn’t mean anything either way!).

Host Jeff Probst reckons if you’re not happy with this group then “you’re not a Survivor fan.”

HEROES
* Rupert Boneham, “Survivor: Pearl Islands” and “All-Stars”
* James Clement, “China” and “Fans vs. Favorites”
* Colby Donaldson, “Australian Outback” and “All-Stars”
* Cirie Fields, “Panama” and “Fans vs. Favorites”
* Amanda Kimmel, “China” and “Fans vs. Favorites”
* Jessica “Sugar” Kiper, “Gabon”
* Stephenie LaGrossa, “Palau” and “Guatemala”
* James “JT” Thomas, “Tocantins”
* Tom Westman, “Palau”
* Candice Woodcock, “Cook Islands”

VILLAINS
* Tyson Apostol, “Tocantins”
* Randy Bailey, “Gabon”
* Sandra Diaz-Twine, “Pearl Islands”
* Danielle DiLorenzo, “Panama”
* Russell Hantz, “Samoa”
* Jerri Manthey, “Australian Outback” and “All-Stars”
* Rob Mariano, “Marqeusas” and “All-Stars”
* Parvati Shallow, “Cook Islands” and “Fans vs. Favorites”
* Ben “Coach” Wade, “Tocantins”
* Courtney Yates, “China”

Nine indicated the show on its 2010 Programme list. It hits the US on February 11 -but that date is likely to conflict with Nine’s Winter Olympics.

    I hope WIN in WA manages to get their act together and show the Heroes vs Villains series, and at a decent hour. So far they are doing well for the Samoa series.

    Would be really interesting to know who and how many were asked to return but declined.

    It’s all well and good to complain that X isn’t on it but maybe X just wasn’t interested.

    Dean: (David can correct me on this if he knows better) I believe CBS are in the habit of negotiating for blocks of two years at a time. Pretty sure that’s what’s happened the last couple of times. Every time the renewal comes up, Jeff tends to make a couple of ambiguous comments about it maybe time for him to go and Survivor fans hit the panic button but he always comes back more committed than before.

    Fraggle you got confused by what I said. I was saying that Jeff Probst agreeing with the choices and arguing for them so vehemently makes him a moron

  5. Fraggle January 9, 2010 at 12:48 am -

    ummmm VMan I’m pretty sure Jeff Probst hands picks the contestants lol. That’s what they have executive producers for.

  6. David Knox January 9, 2010 at 12:46 am -

    Exactly. Olympics will be wall to wall….

  7. Fraggle January 9, 2010 at 12:46 am -

    Anthony, Nine are sure to replay hours and hours of Olympic coverage during Australian primetime so there’s no chance of seeing Survivor anytime soon.

    Also – does anyone know how many more seasons of Survivor there are going to be? And if Jeff will still be around for them? I hope it goes for many years to come, the last 3 seasons that have been on (Samoa, Tocantins, Gabon) I would put in my top 5 favourite seasons.

    Can’t wait to see this, overall I’m pretty happy with the cast, except for those that were just on for their second time a few seasons ago on Micronesia (Amanda, Parvati, Cirie etc.)… would’ve preferred someone like Peih Gee or Taj or Wanda…

    I know they won’t but I wish they brought back displaying the AGE next to the contestant’s name on the screen… I don’t care about their occupation when I’ve seen it a hundred times.

    Here’s hoping Nine have it on asap!

    David, you do realise its not going to conflict with Nine’s Winter Olympics. When you factor in time differences, the majority of the Olympics coverage will be in the morning.

    I hate seeing someone back for a third+ crack. There’s plenty of great Heroes and Villains around to not have to drag the carcasses of Bawstun Rob or Amanda out for yet another spin.

    I’m still the chairman of the “Rupert Boneham for Survivor Host” club for when Jeff steps down. He’d be Brilliant and would breathe such new life into the show.

  12. VMan January 8, 2010 at 2:50 pm -

    Jeff you’re an idiot. To choose Danielle over Corinne from Gabon, definitely the 2nd best villainess, and to choose Amanda for her billionth day on Survivor when no one really likes her that much, over people like Natalie, PG, Taj or Danni is ridiculous.

    And what about Natalie from Fans vs Favourites? Does anyone not remember her infamous scene where she raises her hand to the camera showing how much she hates men?!?!

    No Jeff, it looks like you’re not a survivor fan.

    I will say that 90% of the cast I’m happy with though.

  13. Ben January 8, 2010 at 2:25 pm -

    From what I’ve been told, some castaways like Ozzy and Natalie (Fans v Faves) were cast on the show but were either alternates or were not needed at the last minute.

    looks like this is gonna be a good season!
    suprised ozzy isnt there seeings as though theres other third timers

    and maybe a bit of a mind blank here but what did candice do to in cook islands to get her into heroes group? i may have totally forgotten something there?

    good villians line-up was expecting corrine from gabon to be there, she was quite the villian!! but all in all a very good lineup!

  15. Shelly January 8, 2010 at 1:57 pm -

    Doubt we’ll see Johnny Fairplay back – he asked to be voted off Fans v Favourites because he missed his partner and wanted to go home.

  16. David January 8, 2010 at 1:53 pm -

    Apart from the return of the really quite dull Amanda and the bizarre inclusion of Danielle, I’m digging this cast. The more Courtney and Tyson sass, the better!

    I am surprised/mildly dismayed by the lack of Fairplay, Yau-man and Shane, though.

    So looking forward to this season! I can’t wait! I’m really hoping we get it fast-tracked because I don’t really want to watch it online this time. I’ve watched every Survivor season online since China, and then watched them again when they were on 9/GO!

    I’m most excited to see Cirie back as well as Sandra, Rupert, Sugar, Stephenie and JT. Heroes all the way!

  18. David Knox January 8, 2010 at 12:49 pm -

    Matt if they wanted to sure, but info thus far has indicated Nine not GO! Been rating well over summer, could do well on Nine if it’s not too delayed.

  19. Matt J January 8, 2010 at 12:43 pm -

    David – if Nine will be broadcasting the Olympics on Nine and HD and normal boradcasting on GO! Wouldn’t they just show this Survivor on GO! I won’t be watching the Olympics everyday for that matter at all even, so they could accept the other folk watching their other channel no? =)

  20. Kelly Clark January 8, 2010 at 12:40 pm -

    Please Please Please put in on NIne not Go!! I work shift and cant record digital. I am thinking I might not be the only one.

  21. Survivor_Fan January 8, 2010 at 12:39 pm -

    Really looking forward to this…but it will most likely screen after the winter Olympics…

  22. steven g January 8, 2010 at 12:27 pm -

    This is gonna be fun !

  23. David Knox January 8, 2010 at 12:26 pm -

    Shame Ossie isn’t there, but I guess some could have declined.

  24. Lewis January 8, 2010 at 12:04 pm -

    I take offence to Probst’s comment. I’m a massive Survivor fan, as big a fan as they come, and I hate this cast. Amanda, Parvati and Cirie. Couldn’t have picked 3 worse or more undeserving contestants. I can’t imagine anyone wanting to see them get a *third* opportunity. Stephenie is also a horrible choice.

    In fact, all those getting a third go shouldn’t be there, even though I love Rupert.

  25. Baskio January 8, 2010 at 11:25 am -

    I actually think its great Sandra is back…..I forgot about her food stunt with Christa…..she is definately one to watch!

  26. Finn January 8, 2010 at 11:24 am -

    Channel 9 or Go! , please fastrack screenings. Looks good!

  27. sam January 8, 2010 at 11:19 am -

    also channel 9 – dont put 2 on at at time as much as i love it one episode makes the season last longer

  28. sam January 8, 2010 at 11:18 am -

    O how i love survivor !!!!!!!!!

  29. ABCKid January 8, 2010 at 10:56 am -

    Sugar! :D

  30. Baskio January 8, 2010 at 9:27 am -

    I nearly wet my pants watching this!! Amazing…..very happy with the choices.

    Now Please Ch 9 screen it Prime time….

  31. richo January 8, 2010 at 8:56 am -

    Looks really interesting, should be a good season… but the promo shots of each of the contestants…. oh my goodness! It should be called Survivor: Posers v Posers!

    I know they’re only doing what they’re told, but some of them looked like they were taking it just a bit too seriously!

  32. PD January 8, 2010 at 8:42 am -

    Am I the only one who can’t stand the fact Parvati, Amanda and Cirie are back for a third go around? Just four seasons ago we saw the three of them make the final four, after we’d already seen them come in 7th, 3rd and 4th in their original seasons.

    We don’t need to see Cirie come in fourth for a third season in a row.

    I don’t know why but it makes me crazy. James is one of my favourite contestants but I’d boot him out of the cast if it meant getting rid of the rest of the ‘Fans vs. Favourites’.
