Early glimpse of Spirited

Take a peek at Claudia Karvan in her new series for the W Channel, set to premiere in March.

…and here is a glimpse of Claudia Karvan in her new series for Foxtel, Spirited.

In this photo, Karvan appears as Suzy Darling, a dentist who walks away from a loveless marriage and moves into an old apartment where  she lives with the ghost of ‘80s rock star Henry Mallet, played by UK actor Matt King (Peep Show, Star Stories, Inkheart, Rocknrolla, Whites).

The premise of the series asks, “What if you don’t meet the love of your life until you are dead?”

The 8 x 1 hr series, which premieres in March, is the first drama project for the W Channel.

Karvan has previously said, “I think Spirited is like The Ghost and Mrs Muir meets The Odd Couple, it’s playful, romantic and a little absurd.”

Rodger Corser appears as Steve Darling, Suzy’s husband of 15 years in the series produced by John Edwards and Jacquelin Perske (Love My Way).

Other writers will include Ian Meadows, Tony McNamara, Jessica Redenbach and Marieke Hardy.

The show will be one of Foxtel’s brightest hopes for 2010.

  1. That “Headland set” you’re referring to is an elevator….. Spirited has a fantastic set of writers, two great directors but one would think if you like your drama network and bland (no thinking required), probably not for you.

  2. I’m a big Ghost and Mrs Muir (movie and series) fan so if this is anything like it, I will love it! Sadly its all too common for shows to miss the mark these days, so I hope it goes the other way and succeeds.

  3. Do you know of all the new shows floating (excuse the pun) around this is the one I think I like best.Okay its not a new concept (remember that Georgie Parker show and of course there are movies and the classic Ghost and Mrs Muir). But the actors are top notch, it seems to have good writers behind it and it just looks to be a fresh take and something different from the crap on offer at the moment! Sure hope it lives up to the prepublicity!!
