Offspring springs into series

TEN has commissioned a 13-part family drama series from its telemovie Offspring, starring Asher Keddie.

The Australian today notes that TEN has commissioned a 13-part family drama series from its telemovie Offspring.

The telemovie produced by John Edwards (Tangle, Rush, Dangerous, The Secret Life of Us) and Imogen Banks (Tangle) for Southern Star features Asher Keddie in a story of the impossible loves of 30-something obstetrician Nina Proudman, and her fabulously messy family, as they navigate the chaos of modern life. Offspring has been described as a “buoyant romantic comedy.”

It will also feature Don Hany, John Waters, Kat Stewart and Deb Mailman.

Filming on the series starts in May.

  1. yeah….what is the name of that trumpet song…its the one where a girl giggles through it and says ‘ah…do you want to go to bed with me?’

  2. Can’t wait for the series to start. Another brilliant Aussie drama with such talented actors. My little girl is an extra as baby Ray…
    Good luck to all.

  3. Fan-bloody-tastic cast, writters and scripts. This will be one to watch peeps. Its just fantastic that ten are begginning to finally commission new australian shows. This will obviously be 13 episodes plus the 2 hr telemovie.

  4. Tomothy…. have you seen Love My Way? I take it you have not as yet… watch it… you will develop (well I would hope) a love for Asher… she is superb!!

Glad she has finally got a lead, as she is.

  5. What’s this? An FTA network commissioning a non-crime drama?! =O

Thank God. I’ll be watching as long as it’s not anything like that lowest common denominator rubbish Packed to the Rafters, I’ll probably like it.
