Auditions: My Kitchen Rules

Seven is wasting no time in approving a second season of My Kitchen Rules, and is already looking for new teams of two.

Seven is so happy with My Kitchen Rules it has greenlit another series. And given the money that it’s cost to makeover its kitchen in Sydney it’s no surprise it will launch straight into finding new contestants. Could it screen a second series as soon as MasterChef ends this year?

Applications are now open for a second season via its official website.

Teams of Two are again required and team members must have a pre-existing personal relationship such as friends, relatives, partners.

Both team members must be over 18 years of age and Australian citizens or permanent resident for at least 2 years.

You can check out all the info here.

  1. Well, whatever happened to Beauty and the Geek season 2? They asked for applications for that and so far no auditions have happened. Probably scrapped for this.

  2. After all this time, I’m still not sure what the prize money is. I may have or not have heard 100K as the prize??? There goes the opportunity to use the twist of another 5 teams – you can only spring this on us once, Seven! They seem to be getting rid of the couples quickly now – the finale should be upon us within a fortnight or so…hence the quick need to cast for a 2nd series…and without a doubt it will air before the year is out!

  3. Why is the MKR headquarters in Sydney?? Both rounds, SA was the last team and they saved the results for the next day at the kitchen headquarters, i just assumed it would be easier to do that if it was the same place as last team since it was SA both times. Plus we have the Central Markets, would have made sense.

Hope they don’t overdo this show, cos i really am liking it.

  4. can we assume that the 2nd season will have a completely different format. that twist that they had this season won’t work twice. maybe they can include more states and territories instead in one round instead of 2 rounds of 5 states.

i think a good time to air this would be about the end of july, therefore a month after MC and i’m guessing about a fortnight before juniorMC starts.either that or hold it off til 2011.
i know this season was filmed before christmas, does anyone know if the set has been destroyed since then? it looks like prime real estate and the rent would be high for it to be used just a few days a year. maybe they are going to film season 2 and stockpile it before they destroy the set.

  5. Slow down Seven. ATM most people would love another series, but after another few weeks it might be more sensible to rest the concept till 2011. Dont flog it to death…
