‘Scripted reality’ series The Hills will finish after its sixth season, which begins in the US in late April.
MTV and US producers of have decided it’s time for the sun to set on the reality phenomenon.
“I think we’ve told the story of struggle and of finding yourself in L.A.,” creator Adam DiVello tells EW.
“A lot of these kids have found themselves and have certainly embarked on different careers and different paths.”
After MTV’s reality TV show Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County became one of the network’s highest-rated programs, producers continued the story of one of its more popular characters, Lauren Conrad, who moved to an apartment in Los Angeles. But she left after Season 4, and her rival Kristin Cavallari, became the lead for Series 5.
DiVello promises a satisfying conclusion to the drama that started in Laguna Beach — though there’s one ending fans shouldn’t hold out for: “I always joked it would be nice to see Lauren get married.”

As a male, Im a bit embarrassed to admit this, but I love ‘The Hills’. I don’t know what it is but I love the bitchiness, the unlikable characters, and the fly on the wall style. Sorry to see it go.
@bella. Are you serious? I would love to see Spencer or Heidi in a new reality show. I think it would be very entertaining watching them realise noone wants them.
Laguna Beach was pure entertainment.
I’m sad to see The Hills end, it was my guilty pleasure. Though I do miss Lauren not being in the show. Please no Spencer or Heidi spin off!

That doesn’t sound scripted at all….
you know, for a long time, while i was watching this show i also thought it was actually real and not scripted……
Micheal, the show went on without Lauren – and even that quote above from Adam DiVello indicates that they have decided to do it by choice.
Reubot if a show transfers it’s main character it is not one that ends by choice.
I only saw glimpses of it.
It did not seem natural to have cameras following them around everywhere capturing pivotal moments and conversations in their personal lives.
I wouldn’t say it was axed given that it was the show’s producers who decided to end it.
I totally agree! No wonder it didn’t make it big here.
How the hell it got a complete first season I don’t understand having seen one episode!
