Digital switchover Visitors have landed

This little bloke is the campaign mascot for the Digital Switchover -but his timing with the arrival of V is verrrry spooky.

I can’t help but see some weird kind of parallel between this little bloke, who is supposedly the campaign mascot for the Digital Switchover, and the arrival of V.

“People are commonly concerned about the upcoming switchover because they don’t always understand it,” Digital Switchover taskforce executive director Andy Townend says.

“We are here to communicate with the public about their concerns and explain the process of switching from analogue television to digital.”

The taskforce is slowly infiltrating regional towns with this little bloke and they want to communicate with us all.

Will they be swallowing any guinea pigs in the process?

V after all is about sinister aliens who swear they have arrived in peace but are deceiving the people of Earth.

People of Analogue Australia, you have been warned….

  1. The mascot is shaped like a 4:3 screen? So good to see millions of taxpayers money is wasted on PR suited nonsense like this instead of fixing people’s reception or lack of digitial reception.

  2. David S – I think a little research in how Toyota sold millions of cars using a chicken would suggest it works although you might be middle class offended by a man dressed in a suit selling a new service deserving something more, well get over it as they say

  3. Yes, he’s so informative! Anyone’s questions about DTV will be instantly answered by this little mascot thingy. Oh dear, why do all these idiotic marketing and PR types think the answer to every issue is to come up with an appealing logo or mascot? And then they wipe their hands confident the job’s done…

  4. Well, yeah, there’s a parallel. “V” is rubbish in the beginning but then starts to look promising.

But please, someone tell me the work experience kid that designed that horror-show of a “mascot” is now on the dole. Please.

  5. ive always had a soft spot for the UK Digit-_Al character that promotes Digital TV in the UK
