King of the Hill update

By David Knox on March 4, 2010 / Filed Under Programming 8

Attention King of the Hill fans….

Plans for the show to return to return to 7TWO are now out, as the show switches to Seven.

It was originally returning at 11:45pm on Friday March 12 on Seven, now replaced by a movie.

Now it will air 12midday Saturday March 13.

That is all…

I don’t know how well King of the Hill translates to Aus audiences, but it’s one of the wryest, most accurate views of southern US life I’ve ever seen. It’s clever without having to resort to coy and clever humour, it commentates on US suburban life without being too cruel.

12pm on a Saturday concerns me because it often feels like weekend afternoons always change because of start times of various sporting events. Plus also it has aired on a Saturday afternoon before and that only lasted a few weeks. though I say this realising that it often only airs for a few weeks before being taken off for a period of time.

I believe Hannah Montana was scheduled.for 12 midday on the 13th. So Hannah’s been replaced by King of the Hill. I bet ol Billy Ray Cyrus would have an achy breaky heartattack (excuse the pun) if he found out.

How long before it’s replaced by something else and then it’s back to 7TWO

I’d rather watch “Eclipse Music Tv”, than that poor excuse of a dull cartoon that should have been axed after 3 seasons, not 12!.

    Grrrraarrrrrggghhhh!!!!

Bastards. I wasn’t even home to watch the last few episodes, and now the possibility of me catching it at all is now impossible. I’d much rather prefer a late-night Sunday slot than this…

Why, oh why are they still keeping this show? Even ABC of all stations would make more of this than Seven ever will.

Well 12 Midday will be a decent timeslot for King of the Hill, but I assume that means Seven’s music show Eclipse Music TV isn’t returning this year, which will be a shame. I liked having my gym workout while watching Jesse & Virginia.
Oh well at least King of the Hill is better than reruns of Home Improvement.
