Renewed: The Office, 30 Rock, Community

By David Knox on March 8, 2010 / Filed Under News 15

Two popular comedies, and one new series have been renewed by NBC.

The Office, 30 Rock and Community all got the good news from the US network.

That’s good news for TEN, Seven and Nine respectively. Community stars Joel McHale and Chevy Chase.

They follow on from Parks & Recreation getting an early pick-up from NBC.

Good news all round, especially Community, as there was some doubt as to whether it would be renewed. It’s my favourite new show and easily the best new comedy in recent memory. It’s one giant homage to classic ensemble comedies of the past, with it’s own twist. Anyone who is a fan of NBC’s comedy lineup or Arrested Development will love Community.

Community is a great show, rapt it got a 2nd season, probably my favourite show of the new season. As someone else said, its very character based comedy (the cast is brilliant), I would be very surprised if Nine give it a go, to be honest sadly i see it going straight to GO

At least we know that Seven will get around to airing 30 Rock, unlike Ten, who gave us a burst of ‘Office’ episodes over summer but now it has seemingly vanished without a trace. The way they refuse to even give it a ‘graveyard’ time slot is really poor form.

Community is a character based comedy so it wont stand a chance on Australian Free to Air TV. Fantastic show that Nine will want to rate instantly but will dump 2 episodes in.

Wouldn’t make a difference for any of the Aussie networks IMO, they either don’t show them or put them on at friggin midnight

Why is it good news for Ten and Seven, they don’t care about The Office or 30 Rock! Seven’s Thursday needs 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation put on at 7.30. 30 Rock deserves prime time.

NBC’s comedy Thursdays is one of the best lineups around. Community is IMO second best show of the season behind Glee. 30 Rock has been a bit up and down and the Office is still powering along – all in terms of quality nothing to do with ratings here.

So glad to see them all renewed.

Why is 30 Rock getting renewed good news for Seven?

The network does nothing for the show.

One week it is on at 11pm, the next at 10pm, the following not at all.

NBC should strip them of the rights and give first run to Foxtel.

Let Seven go back to airing its usual fare of Dancing With The Dogs.
