hey there – dirtgirlworld got 160K views on ABC1 on Wednesday 24 March – shouldn’t it have come in at 43, ahead of Fringe GO!?

  2. Nathan March 28, 2010 at 10:02 pm -

I wonder if The Bill is going to get more viewers now that’s its got the axe.

  3. Ryano March 28, 2010 at 6:32 pm -

@Trev the AFL was on a half hour delay into Sydney and Brisbane.
Not to bad audience for an average of 3 hours on a Saturday night…Dont forget Ten and One are now apparently seperating the AFL figures so you have to add the ratings together for a final result.

  4. Trev March 28, 2010 at 4:13 pm -

@ JB. To answer your question, Adelaide had no one to watch other than Sydney and St Kilda.
@ Ryan, Brisbane had the Lions v West Coast and Sydney had to suffer the Swans v St Kilda as well. Both games were live telecasts and when compared with the League ratings on Friday night, not that many appeared interested.
I may as well go for the hat trick. I can’t argue with you Jas as to the number of Brisbane clubs and pubs who show the AFL, but I can state with absolute certainty that there are not too many in Sydney who would be game to do so.

  5. JB March 28, 2010 at 3:01 pm -

@Trev. Why?? It rated higher than in Adelaide, an AFL city.

  6. Jas March 28, 2010 at 2:57 pm -

I think one thing in the ongoing, and sometimes repetative, debate about Sydney and Brisbane AFL ratings that we forget to mention is that there’s at least 30,000 at the actual game and that it is on in heaps of pubs, rsl’s and sports clubs. I can’t speak for Sydney, but that’s my experience in Brisbane. And I guess the same can be said for any sporting event.

  7. Michcke March 28, 2010 at 2:51 pm -

David, what did My Restaurant Rules make in Perth on saturday?

  8. ryan March 28, 2010 at 2:40 pm -

@ TREV: sydney and bris did pretty well i thought, very rarley do u see syd even get over 20,000 for a footy match, but 82,000 is pretty good for a game without syd playing

  9. Kyall March 28, 2010 at 2:28 pm -

David, do you have the share for 7TWO on Saturday night? Looking at the numbers i assume they were monstrous.

  10. Trev March 28, 2010 at 11:54 am -

Last nights ratings for the AFL in Sydney and Brisbane show why live telecasts in both those cities are a complete waste of time.

  11. emma March 28, 2010 at 10:58 am -

    @Marco.

If that is what it turns out to be, waiting for the last episode to answer things, then that that is the worst structure for a finale i have ever seen. Just going down a shopping list without structure etc.

They should be answering something with each episode and they are not, they are just raising more questions, it is pathetic (and very obvious the writers never intended to answer things). It is though they made up all these mysteries with no actual answer to them, just a wait and see what happens attitude. Maybe the viewers will just forget and we can get away with ignoring lots of stuff. Well we havnt boys.

They have soooooooooo many Big questions to answer, so many. It is clear they that have cornered themselves with all their BS and now are going to cut out and run before the **** hits the fan.

  12. Political TV. March 28, 2010 at 8:13 am -

    Seven = Labour
    Nien = Tory’s
Ten…um They don’t stand or understand anything.
ABC = Thank god for the ABC.
    SBS = Who that?

  13. Marco March 27, 2010 at 5:39 pm -

Have patience Lost fans – you’ve waited 6 years, giving up now??? Do you think they’re going to answer the *big* questions right now with 10 or so eps to go? Methinks the final 3 eps will have all the answers you could ever wish for…and then some.

  14. Allie March 27, 2010 at 4:54 pm -

Oh my God, that figure for Neighbours last night, 444,000 nationally – that must be a new low, surely?

  15. Dino March 27, 2010 at 11:59 am -

@ 2.5 Men. You’re sooo right. Nine must be ecstatic about how their Footy Show’s are rating… particularly the NRL version. It really has the utmost support of all Sydney and Brisbane viewers. *sarcasm over*

  16. james smith March 27, 2010 at 11:38 am -

what did allo allo get for ratings

  17. nige March 27, 2010 at 9:34 am -

    about Lost.

Nope, they have to give answers. It’s that black & white. If not, they have dropped the ball and lied to their entire fan base for 5 years. As they guaranteed they would answer most of the questions. They assured people, promised etc etc etc.

  18. Trev March 27, 2010 at 9:26 am -

Although I agree with your opinion in regard to the stupid anti siphoning laws Rutzie, the main reason 7 and 10 don’t show AFL live in Briz is simply the fact that if they did hardly any one could be bothered watching it. The same applies even more so in Sydney where live telecasts of the Swans matches are consistently outrated by anything that’s up against them.

  19. Harry March 26, 2010 at 10:36 pm -

AFL last night failed.. as if it was ever going to rate on a Thurs!

  20. Rutzie March 26, 2010 at 7:47 pm -

Last night proved what a farce the anti-siphoning rules are. ONE couldn’t show the AFL last night in Brisbane until 11.30pm because that’s the time that Ten decided to show it on the main channel which pushed the IPL back to a start time of 2.20am. Ridiculous!

  21. Steve March 26, 2010 at 7:42 pm -

@Ron…..great comment, think alot of people have got carried away with the ratings for the Bounce.

    Lets see in two weeks!!

For the record I dont think Peter Helliar as host can hold the show together.

  22. sameer March 26, 2010 at 7:29 pm -

it was bleeding obvious that the seven footy shows would beat the nine version because of the earlier slots, more people watch tv at 730pm, so it was inevitable that the both shows would out rate channel nine.

  23. 2.5 men March 26, 2010 at 6:36 pm -

well The Bounce is a 7:30 pm slot whilst The Footy Show is a 9:30 pm slot. With the primetime golden slot, maybe The Bounce should have gotten a bit high ratings. Panic buttons? don’t think so….

  24. ryan March 26, 2010 at 5:51 pm -

My god ten totally fked up last night, On wed, saw a promo for treasure hunt on bl fo 2mrw 7.30, saw it again on on thur during the day, then didnt see it at all. They also didnt mention anything about dance being earlier except like an hr before it started, nat should have said something on wed at the end of the show. And the footy being delayed in perth by so much is a joke! we love our footy more than s.a, qld,and nsw!! Ten will never do well over in perth if every game is delayed! And for the Afl, sports doesnt belong on thursdays!!

  25. Ron March 26, 2010 at 4:57 pm -

I would think the reason that Seven’s footy shows are beating Nine’s would be that they both air earlier in the night, and The Footy Show is averaged out over nearly 2 hours, whereas The Bounce and The Matty Johns Show both air for an hour. Another factor this week would be that they were the first episodes. It will take a few weeks (in its permanent timelsot) to give a true indicator of how each show is tracking.

  26. messy March 26, 2010 at 4:35 pm -

To everyone complaining about not getting answers for Lost, the last time I looked, and I am a keen fan, the show is not finished yet. Why not just wait instead of demanding immediate answers.
If some things are not answered, it will be disappointing but not the end of the world. Lets hope they have planned it well and answers will start flowing.

  27. Tony March 26, 2010 at 4:05 pm -

You Lost fans wouldn’t have enjoyed The Prisoner then! The baffling series involved retired agent “Number 6″ living on an island with other former agents and unable to escape. The series ended without explanation and Number 6 simply pulled off a mask to reveal that he was, in fact, a gorilla. A classic series, nonetheless.

  28. Ryano March 26, 2010 at 3:36 pm -

    Thursday Night AFL Ten 515,000 *** 382,000 *** 84,000 49,000
A drop of over half a million on last year, amazing.
That will teach Ten not to show a game of AFL on a a 4.5hour delay into Perth and that’ll send alarm bells ringing at AFL House.
Richmond V Carlton is not exactly blockbuster material.
The game should have been 2 top 4-5 teams from 2009.
The fact is Steven Conroy, the worst Federal Minister in modern history, needs to let the networks show AFL on secondary digital channels first run. It needs to happen now.

  29. lisneals March 26, 2010 at 1:53 pm -

    @JB

Amen to that. Enjoy the journey is just a cop out. You can’t base your whole show on mythology and not answer the questions you promised you would answer.

That is like having a murder, mystery film and just saying, “the butler did it”, without explanation, why, how, how come.

It ain’t about the journey, it never was and you only have to go to all the fan forums to realize that these producers will be hung high and dry if they don’t start answers some of the mysteries (in depth and not vague, or dual meaning answers)

  30. JB March 26, 2010 at 1:25 pm -

@Tony, because having answers make the journey worthwhile. I’d feel cheated if we didn’t get answers. I love Lost, have stuck by it, and actually found lkast season was excellent, although at time more confusing then ever. But this season, the final season has been a total letdown. I’m not as enthralled as i have been, haven’t been shocked with any storylines, and am just confused by the whoel thing, when this is when they should be revealing all. Yes a little mystery shoudl remain on some things, but they know how loyal Lost viewers are so they’re taking advantage of us by dishing a crap season. I jonestly wouldn’t have had a problem had it ended last season with us all thinking hey maybe they just changed history and the plane never crashes.

  31. Dino March 26, 2010 at 11:23 am -

The Bounce beats the AFL Footy Show on Wednesday, then Matty Johns destroys The NRL Footy Show last night. Time to hit the panic button Nine?

  32. David Knox March 26, 2010 at 11:05 am -

7pm was on at 11pm in AFL states.

  33. ducko March 26, 2010 at 11:03 am -

Why was the 7pm Project so low in Melbourne & Adelaide last night? Yet in Brisbane it was only 3k off being the top show in its timeslot.

  34. Allie March 26, 2010 at 11:02 am -

Matty Johns Show smashed Nine’s Footy Show to bits in the ratings. It has also received good notices in the Sydney papers this morning and on talk-back. Amazing example of massive fall then redemption!

  35. Adam March 26, 2010 at 10:43 am -

how does the ABC2 Morning News 6-9am stack up against the dribble on Seven and Nine?

I just don’t understand how anyone in their right mind could watch tabloid crap when they can get some decent with no ads!
Same goes for TT and ACA – horrible! and I’m really concerned that these supposedly current affair shows are doing real harm.

  36. Ant March 26, 2010 at 10:41 am -

Seven Footy show smashed nine footy show (Sydney) is this the end of the footy show on nine.!!!!

  37. Johnson March 26, 2010 at 10:41 am -

Big drop for the AFL last night, without the hype that was like last year (Ben Cousins v Chris Judd). Looks like next year the AFL may not start on a Thursday night, and may not feature Carlton and/or Richmond.

  38. Tony March 26, 2010 at 9:39 am -

I agree with Steven re. Lost. It’s all about the journey, not the destination. If we’ve had fun along the way, then it was all worth it. Why do we need answers?

  39. ryan March 26, 2010 at 1:10 am -

Good to see burn notice win 16-39 demo. Dance was great last night and now with only 8 dancers left every performance is really good, the last few weeks the peformances have really stepped up which is great cause i was getting a little bored

  40. Ryano March 25, 2010 at 7:31 pm -

This time last year AFL helped Ten to a 30.6% audience share
    March 26th 2009: Thursday Night AFL Ten 1,036,000 *** 709,000 *** 144,000 183,000
Wonder how that will measure up against this year.
Expect lower numbers since the game is delayed by an extra 90 mins in Perth and less hype over this game. Last year it was all about “Judd V Cousins”
    Not so much this year.

  41. steven guy March 25, 2010 at 6:42 pm -

Re – Lost and the answers…

I hope when it finishes that I am as confused and confounded by it as the day i first started to watch it. I don’t want all the answers. I’m just enjoying theost LOST ride !

  42. damo March 25, 2010 at 6:40 pm -

i am not surprised the bounce beat the footy show last night, because it was it’s first show and everyone wanted to see what it was about. be the general view i have gotten. the shows rating will plummit next week

  43. lisneals March 25, 2010 at 6:04 pm -

    RE: theanitDamonLaurenc Lindelof.

    Lost:

Oh yer, gotta agree. They are showing some major contempt for their fans and audience of the series. Even now, I can feel the lynch mob getting ready for the creators of the show. The whole thing is going to end in tears and frustration. Only 11 hours to go, they are moving to a conclusion of sorts, they are just not really addressing all the mysteries they have based their entire program on, which is somewhat insulting to everyone that suspected as much.

  44. tasmanian devil March 25, 2010 at 4:26 pm -

@ darryn – I don’t recall saying that 7pm is to blame for the complete failure of Network Ten. I said that The Biggest Loser, TBYG and SYTYCD have had a drop in ratings because they are in timeslots where they don’t perform as well. If The 7pm Project wasn’t in the way, they wouldn’t be in those timeslots. The Biggest Loser may be rubbish but so is everything else in the 7:00 timeslot, and now that it’s against stronger competition people have an excuse not to watch it. Hence the drop in ratings.

  45. Ryano March 25, 2010 at 4:11 pm -

Wow The Bounce on 7 beat the Footy Show on 9, very interesting and unusually poor numbers for the Footy Show?
    The Footy Show Nine 437,000 M- 293,000 A- 75,000 P- 70,000
    The Bounce Seven 546,000 M-326,000 A- 107,000 P- 112,000

We will have to wait and see how it stacks up next week on the regular Thursday slot.

  46. James March 25, 2010 at 3:19 pm -

Anyone else find it ironic that ryan is telling ten to get a brain and calling other people stupid?

  47. theanitDamonLaurenc Lindelof March 25, 2010 at 2:37 pm -

Lost..still no friggen concrete answers, this is getting tiresome. You may think you can play an entire audience for fools but we know exactly what you sad little game plan is.

Ya know, everyone told the writers ” you better not be screwing us on this, you better answer the 3 million questions you raised through the last 5 seasons”..cause if you don’t, no mercy. Your name will be toxic for dropping the ball and spitting in an audiences face, Damon Laurence Lindelof that means You.

Oh Lindelof, enough of the snarky Tweets when the audience calls you out for “filler” in the final season, man up, suck it up and admit you ain’t gunna answer Jack ****.

  48. steven guy March 25, 2010 at 11:47 am -

Beautiful People on the ABC was beautiful last night. An excellent laugh and not bad ratings either. At least I got one show in the top 30 !

  49. Boogie Howser March 25, 2010 at 10:56 am -

If commercials grabbed more shows off SBS then we’ll have less crap on the commercials, and SBS can go and find some more excellent SBS shows.

    Stirring is fun.
