Footy Show could shift to Crown

When Nine Melbourne moves to the Docklands next year, the Footy Show could be housed at Crown Casino.

When Channel Nine Melbourne moves to its new Dockland base early next year, it needs to look further afield for its bigger productions including Hey Hey it’s Saturday and The Footy Show.

Neither will be able to be staged in the new corporate-style premises at 717 Bourke Street.

While Central City Studios are just a short car drive away, The Footy Show could take up residence elsewhere.

TV Tonight hears whispers it could make a new home at Crown Casino.

Such a move would realise a plan that was floated some years ago.

If it moved to The Palms showroom, it would multiply the front tables that have already comprised the Footy Show‘s presentation style, while the annual Grand Final gala at Rod Laver Arena has always been a showy affair.

No doubt Crown would also be keen for the weekly exposure -not to mention the punters who would be walking past gaming tables to get there.

You heard it here first.

  1. @Neon Kitten “Send The Footy Show to Crown, then send in the fighter jets. Two problems solved in one go”

Now, that is a show I’d watch. Brilliant.

  2. good news maybe?

you know, Before the Game and The Bounce are in the same territory as The Footy Show – low brow humor (which I find nothing wrong with)

  3. Awesome. Send The Footy Show to Crown, then send in the fighter jets. Two problems solved in one go 😉

Was interesting to inadvertently catch a bit of Nine’s Monday night AFL show at the start of the week. Looking at the intelligent discussion going on there, I yet again wondered how on earth The Footy Show manages to still be around.

    And then I remembered. Bogans.
