Burn Notice has been renewed for two seasons.
The series from the cable USA Network will be back for seasons five and six, with a minimum of 15 and 18 episodes, respectively. Season four, which begins in the US in two months’ time, is shooting in Miami while season five will begin production in about a year. The renewal ahead of the next season premiere is an indication of the network’s faith.
But the good news was surely an easy decision. The action series starring the ultra-cool Jeffrey Donovan is the No. 1 show in US cable, with a season averaged 7.1 million viewers and 3.3 million in the 18-49 demos.
Burn Notice has a loyal fanbase in Australia too. Its season finale on TEN last night took 635,000 viewers, second in its timeslot.

I want this show, I want this show……… I’m sure you get the picture. I have the first 3 seasons and would love it if this show was to continue for another 5 years. so, we only need to convince the studio to commit to another 3 and I’ll have what I want. 🙂
This shows awesome, i like watching it, and will eventually buy it on DVD woohoo, bring it on
I’ve enjoyed this show since day 1, it was quite quirky then and a bit less-so now, but the cast is excellent. I was in the US during Feb last year and this show was *everywhere*, on at least 2 channels (they flog old seasons to lesser channels who show them concurrently), with big station promos and competitions going. Getting Ten to stop mucking around with it is always the challenge here though.
LOL @ your whitegoods comment David. Am I the only one who finds the Good Guys ads funny?
God, why can’t that piece of junk just die? I watched some of the first season and a half or so but it got so repetitive and boring not even the hot gf could keep me interested (and that inane commentary really got on my nerves after a while).
@Elise: Good scripts? What good scripts? The scripts are appalling.
This is a prime example of a series that should have been cancelled after, at most, two seasons.
After seeing the cliffhanger to season 3, wonder what direction Burn Notice will take with seasons 4-6.
Love this show but unfortunately it’s just me and my daughter watching.
They never hooked my wife early on and now she won’t come in late
Yay! It’s a great little show that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
This is fantastic news!
Thanx for this news David Woot…
Management will be pleased.
If not for Ch10’s consistency in screening it, would never have found it and subsequently become another one of this show’s fans.
Crikey! That’s three years of the show ahead of us, guaranteed? Hurray!
I wish a few of my other favourites had a slice of that kind of future.
It is a great show, glad it does well.
I gotta give Ten credit for bringing it back and sticking with it even though it didnt rate that well. It did later in the season win sone 16-39 demos which is good. I would love to see it in a permanent 9.30 slot somewhere
USA Network deliver some realyl good shows, I havent check out this show properly, but White Collar was awesome, and still enjoy Psych and Monk.
Best action on TV! Hopefully ten bring it back later this year and give it a better lead in with a half 9 timeslot, as opposed to the quarter past 10 slot it was in for most of the season
awesome news!! i totally love this show. the characters are hell kool and sort of like ncis characters in a way, easy to warm too
Excellent news – Ten have been surprisingly good with getting season three to us after they waited for so long to show season two.
This is fantastic news! Thank good it’s not on Network TV in the US.
Can’t wait for the next season, just hope TEN doesn’t hold off until 2011 to air it!
Best news I’ve heard all day. Let’s just hope they can keep the good scripts going.
Wondering what Matt Nix’s new show “The Good Guys” will be like (co-starring Colin Hanks.)
If they start singing around whitegoods I’m outta here.
