Taiwan YouTube star voted off

Last week the interwebs went nuts for Lin Yu-chun, the Taiwanese 24 year old who wowed everyone with his version of “I Will Always Love You” which he dedicated it to his maternal grandmother, who raised him until he was 4.

This week he was voted off Super Star Avenue. Which kinda keeps him perfectly in the Susan Boyle realm of underdogs who make good.

Boyle famously lost Britain’s Got Talent, but went to sell millions of albums.

“You rarely hit a wrong note. But you did today, what’s wrong with you?” one of the judges asked him.

Lin has racked up over up 6 million hits to date and is already in talks for a record deal and a US visit (we’re lookin’ at you Oprah). He also does more than just sing, he lurrrves to dance too.

Lin will also be invited back to the show for a guest performance next weekend. And possibly the Logies (kidding…).
