@Carta. HIMYM was doing about the same on Mon7:30 as it is now at 9:00 Thurs. new episodes haven’t rated well for a few years now. although the summer reruns seem to always do well.

and home and away wasn’t on in all states on friday because of footy, the figures are pretty normal for a friday otherwise.

  2. cpandilo April 25, 2010 at 9:27 pm -

    BM-dog,
the Saturday night ratings for the footy in Sydney were not deleted. Ten code the late Saturday night replays of non-Swans matches in Sydney as Saturday Late Night AFL – obviously this has not been included in the list provided above.

  3. ryan April 25, 2010 at 2:43 pm -

I hope Ten brings back rush before masterchef finishes so they can put it after mc and see if they can get viewers up. Also i would love to see new law and order c.i @ 8.30 mondays, surley it would rate higher than gnw

  4. BM-dog April 25, 2010 at 12:16 pm -

David – Saturday Night AFL at #15 is missing a city. I think the *** for Sydney has got deleted somewhere along the line.

I hate it how the commercial networks basically run dead on Saturday nights. Only three shows over the million mark, really? Surely if they showed something decent – it doesn’t have to be first-run stuff, just repeats of something other than dreadful movies – they could get a few more people watching and extract a bit more money from advertisers.

  5. tasmanian devil April 25, 2010 at 11:14 am -

I think if Ten got rid of Dave or Carrie from The 7pm Project, the ratings could potentially go up. I agree with wayne in that I would watch it more often and I know that I’m not the only one. Fans like to think it’s improving at the moment, but what’s going to happen when Masterchef finishes? It’s still got a long way to go.

  6. Carta April 25, 2010 at 10:02 am -

Are Friday night’s ratings for Home and Away the show’s lowest ever?! I don’t recall seeing it drop below 800k before. It was less the 200K ahead of “Neighbours” and only a few dozen k ahead of the 7pm Project. What was up on Friday night?!

  7. tmorgan April 25, 2010 at 8:24 am -

I have noticed a significant improvment in Nine this year. My favourite night is Monday, with 2.5 Men/Big Bang/Mentalist although Sunday is a good night as well. I think this year nine might be able to storm to number 1 by a hair if not seven by the skin of its teeth.
Im sick of 7 and their factuals on 4 or 5 nights a week, not to mention their crap graphics and promos and dramatisation- Put some real TV on!!

  8. ryan April 25, 2010 at 4:24 am -

I wonder who will win sunday? I rekon merlin will prob get around 1.2m anything more and ten would be very happy, I dont think masterchef will takeover underbelly but i rekon some will flow onto goodwife for the first time and might like it.

  9. tom April 25, 2010 at 12:17 am -

LOL @ all 7PM Project naysayers.
Ten won’t get rid of it… nor will they get rid of Charlie, Dave or Carrie as some on here suggest they do. Why would they? It’s working for them now.
Wayne you might not like a couple of the hosts but mate doubt you’d ever be up for a Logie either.

  10. Craig April 24, 2010 at 4:10 pm -

Damn shame MC didn’t make is 5 out of 5 for the week, but it was still the top show in the time slot and beat all but the news and ACA/TT, good going TEN!

  11. Carta April 24, 2010 at 12:08 pm -

7 has really damaged “How I Met Your Mother” by putting it on at 9pm. It was a huge ratings hit on Mondays at 7:30pm, but now they’ve lost most of its regular audience. It’s a real shame, because it’s a decent show.

  12. kevin11 April 24, 2010 at 10:05 am -

I think the 7pm Project should have live guests performances sometimes….??

  13. Alex T April 24, 2010 at 7:16 am -

@MR. I believe it had a very similar pace last year, and it’s the pace and the way they produce it that has made it a success.

  14. RichoTB April 24, 2010 at 6:19 am -

MR, guess you’ll be boycotting until Monday then – because that’s when they get down to the top 25.

  15. robbie555 April 23, 2010 at 9:29 pm -

Hey I don’t know if the Nine News ratings issues are discussed much on here, but I think the problem is with the affiliate stations Perth and Adelaide whos news is shown differently. They use different openers and closers. Why can’t PBL media buy these stations so they can bring the ratings and the news production up to the same standards as the production in the East. People in the West feel like we are missing out on Nine network.

  16. MR April 23, 2010 at 6:31 pm -

Not happy with MC ,they are dragging it out so much and making it so hard up against 25 yr chefs and expect cooks to be up there with may moran
to make it to top 24 is painfull this yr
Ratingsseem to not agree so far,But if they drag it out to much numbers will fall
Will give it a miss until it settles down to the final 24 or what ever the number is suppose to be

  17. Goonies April 23, 2010 at 6:17 pm -

I forgot to say how glad I was too see Graham Norton back on telly last night – absolutely hysterical as usual. Christina Ricci was just lovely, love the underarm hair thing!

  18. Jarred April 23, 2010 at 5:29 pm -

What a horrible night for Channel 7. RIP Cougartown: No primetime television show should be getting a figure like 626K, thats terrible. The Bounce/Matty Johns isn’t much better, those two shows are the reason seven did so poorly. Even Home/Away was quite low considering it went for an hour.
Masterchef dominated yet again, and 7PM ratings were again higher than normal.

  19. Tony April 23, 2010 at 3:55 pm -

I think it’s funny that someone who subscribes to a tv forum accuses others of having no life! Tee-hee.

  20. Harry April 23, 2010 at 3:29 pm -

    @ Darryn,
Im a MC viewer – I have a life. Im not old. Im employed. Im a student. What are you trying to say?

  21. Allie April 23, 2010 at 2:52 pm -

Yeah, Seven’s in a lot of trouble with The Bounce in Melbourne, but The Matty Johns Show is rating reasonably well. Seven probably want to can The Bounce, but would that effect TMJS? If one is axed, would the other be axed as well, considering they are shown in tandem?

Cougar Town is an unfunny dog that has not been well received,. I have a feeling that it won’t last much longer in the timeslot it is in.

  22. Goonies April 23, 2010 at 2:41 pm -

Gee darryn missed out on your Nanna nap or something yesterday did we?

I am neither an ‘oldie’ or unemployed and I take offense at your immature remarks that they are the only group of people who watch Masterchef – by all means you can hate the show but I don’t feel that gives you the right to make rude remarks about those who do enjoy it.

  23. wayne April 23, 2010 at 2:18 pm -

7pm project doing a lot better all the time.If they get rid of carrie and hughsey i might watch it more often.See what happens to a show when the network sticks with it for more than a couple of weeks, its numbers grow,it finds its audience.Just when “v” is finding its audience, they move it back to 10:30pm.It was stabilizing around 610,000.

  24. Brenton April 23, 2010 at 2:04 pm -

Why pick on Home And Away. It’s ratings on Thursdays & Fridays are always lower than Monday to Wednesday. To say the show should be axed is stupid because Home And Away is the most successful show it has ever produced making the network a ton of money and ensuring that the network invests in locally made drama. I am a huge fan of the show and I would be the first to admit that at times the storylines go off the rails but all long time viewers would know that it still relates back to the issues of today’s society. Now go and pick on something else because Seven will not be axing H&A anytime soon.

  25. Bogues April 23, 2010 at 12:53 pm -

Nine Footy Show bet the Matty Johns show in Brisbane for the first time. Woohoo!

  26. Bruce Banner April 23, 2010 at 12:31 pm -

It’s fantastic to see the 7PM Project slash H&A’s viewers, hope it continues for the rest of the year and they finally axe it.

  27. David Knox April 23, 2010 at 12:05 pm -

Outside the Top 100, below 94,000.

  28. One April 23, 2010 at 11:25 am -

Hey David; Do you know the figures for One Week at A Time? Much appreciated.

  29. Alex April 23, 2010 at 11:12 am -

MasterChef did some massive damage to Sea Patrol – worst ratings it’s ever gotten. Sucks for what was a great episode.
    Hope it can recover!

  30. damo April 23, 2010 at 10:45 am -

the end is so near for the bounce and good bye

  31. Rutzie April 23, 2010 at 9:34 am -

I think it’s time Seven moved The Bounce and The Matty Johns Show to 9.30pm and slot The Amazing Race into 7.30pm. Seven have a dilemma on their hands because Matty Johns isn’t doing to badly but The Bounce is a massive flop.

  32. Allie April 23, 2010 at 8:02 am -

@kevin11 – yes, I noticed that the remaining MC contestants are predominantly from SA. Sadly for me, not a lot of New South Welsh there!

@ryan – yeah, Sandra Sully is looking very good at the moment, I think she’s had a makeover. They’ve livened her hairstyle up, it looks a lot better.

  33. Britney Spears fan April 22, 2010 at 11:51 pm -

oh agian i wish it would be in the top 100 it great show do u like it david and thanks for that i know from now on

  34. Rutzie April 22, 2010 at 11:01 pm -

The Pacific had a very good final figure from last week including timeshift. Episode 1 jumped up to 1,791,000 (138,000 increase) and Episode 2 jumped up to 1,678,000 (158,000 increase). And in an unrelated comment, Daryl must be s****ing bricks today.

  35. darryn April 22, 2010 at 9:59 pm -

oh and gerry, 7pm is still 20%…yes 20% behind the Number 3 show at 7pm..not number 2, nor number 1, but number 3, so yeah, its a loser and needs to be axed

  36. darryn April 22, 2010 at 9:54 pm -

Interesting to see if any channels took notice of last nights ten split…play games once too often with viewers and you will be burnt….the fact the winner announced rated lower then the so-called earlier show of sytycd shows that playing games with programming can back-fire.

Quite obivious that MC has found its niche amongst the oldies and unemployed, those that are chained to there tv’s each night as they have no life and cant afford to get one, the channel ten sycophants best hope that Abbot doesnt get in as half the audience will be over to WA to the mines with no time to watch tv and the other half will of dropped of there perch seeing the prime minister in budgie smugglers…meanwhile channel 10 still comes a distant third…to sum up, nothing has changed

  37. gerry April 22, 2010 at 9:02 pm -

I think its funny when just a few months ago, everyone was complaining about how poor 7PM Project was doing, and that it should “get axed already.” And now everyone on this site seems to love it and are congratulating Ten for sticking with it.

  38. Steve April 22, 2010 at 8:51 pm -

Figures are down all over, looks like viewers are finally voting with their remotes!

  39. Timothy Jong April 22, 2010 at 8:13 pm -

If Hey Hey’s ratings keep falling by the end of the 20 shows, Channel Nine better not axe it again, should put it on Saturday nights to see how it goes.

  40. barrett April 22, 2010 at 6:57 pm -

Will 9 punt Hey Hey when it’s figures drop below the magic million?

  41. bigkev April 22, 2010 at 6:25 pm -

Why is everyone complaining about Hey hey….. 1.2 mil is not bad. As for SYTYCD finale…. now thats bad especially after the lead in.

  42. kevin11 April 22, 2010 at 5:33 pm -

whoa, that’s really crap for Dance… I think it’s dead and buried. If they continue the series next year, they wont even reach the 900k mark. And MC is really good. There are a lot of SA people so im happy :):)

  43. Lewis April 22, 2010 at 5:25 pm -

Hey Hey = crap. Got the ratings it deserves.

  44. Seymor Smith April 22, 2010 at 4:15 pm -

Poor beginning for Lowdown. Only caught half of it and found it underwhelming. A strange mix of satire and lowbrow humor. The satire was okay the lowbrow stuff not nearly shocking or interesting enough for me. Will give it another go. They beat Hungry Beast from last week at least and I feel a bit sorry for them as Hungry Beast has really stuffed Wednesday nights as comedy night. 9:30 shows getting 332,000 is very low. To lose so many after Spicks and Specks is disappointing but it’s getting tired. They should shift it to a U.K model and do two series of ten shows a year. Something like Q.I or Mock The Week. Do we really need it all year?

  45. Harry April 22, 2010 at 4:15 pm -

I watched the Dance Finale last night – I must say, it was brilliant. Masterchef is so good – I think the numbers will decline and then rise towards the final. It wont be pulling in massive numbers like that every night..

  46. ryan April 22, 2010 at 4:04 pm -

who has noticed how hot sandra sully is looking lately?

  47. David Knox April 22, 2010 at 3:52 pm -

If an ABC3 show makes the daily Top 100 I list it, otherwise check the weekly ratings story on Sundays to see the share result. See Week 16.

  48. Adam April 22, 2010 at 3:42 pm -

I dont know why all the hate on Hey Hey. Variety TV has been on aussie TVs since the very beginning and is a great change to the usual crap that is on air. It’s all just a bit of fun. Everyone takes things way too seriously nowadays, you cant have any fun on TV and get away with it

Sure it wont rate through the roof every week, thats for sure, but it is doing well against some stiff competition

  49. Fi C April 22, 2010 at 3:36 pm -

I had $10 on Mastechef to win the ratings on Wed night at $11 odds. Why the odds were so long i’ll never know……… oh well, free money ;)
    Go MC!

  52. David Knox April 22, 2010 at 2:38 pm -

The Pacific replayed 2pm Wed April 28.

  53. Jason D. April 22, 2010 at 2:15 pm -

Hey Hey was pretty lame last night. I noticed that Spicks & Specks had rebounded somewhat from their disastrous drop last week though it was a big night with The Pacific and So You Think You Can Dance also being shown.

  54. ryan April 22, 2010 at 1:05 pm -

glad dance is returning next yr, i just hope ten return it to 7.30 sundays and mondays.
Gotta laugh @ HHIS figures, mc did really well and was a fantastic ep last night! and i was so happy phillip was allowed to stay.

  55. Brad April 22, 2010 at 1:00 pm -

MC is going well though I am a bit annoyed that it feels like 10 is going to stretch it out. How long ’till we get to final 24 and that is significantly more than made it through to the real episodes last season? I can’t blame 10 but hope they don’t overdo it. As it is, I like to watch MC but wouldn’t bother taping a night if I missed it. It just isn’t that compelling as yet.

Excellent ratings of MC tend to highlight how poor much of 10′s lineup really is. Apart from NCIS, MC and the occassional AFL game, I can’t think of any program on 10 that I’d try to watch. 7PM remains confused if you ask me; It still struggles between between newsy and funny and is therefore sometimes glib. 10 news is ok but who is home at 5PM?

  56. Jarred April 22, 2010 at 12:52 pm -

Big Drop for Hey Hey and the funny thing is, the show wont change much from week to week and so a ratings drop is inevitable. Seemed fairly lame at times.
Crap numbers for Dance Final – seems appropriate considering the season it’s had in terms of ratings
Again, masterchef is the domination and will continue to be
Spicks and Specks dropped a lot, it’s usually consistenly around 1.1m. However, its up against tough competition that hasn’t really been seen before on Wednesdays.
7PM is again above 800K, it would be interesting to see how it goes without masterchef as the proceeding show, maybe next week will tell us.

  57. salf April 22, 2010 at 12:37 pm -

thankyou Australia, for the demise of heyhey, i have regained faith in us as a nation. although i am from melbourne and i don’t think i should be as proud of us. heyhey, 2.5men and 20to1 would have been gone long ago if it weren’t for melb.

bad figs for Lost, looks like it won’t go out on top. this season is definatley weaker than previous ones but it is still one of the best shows on tv, i don’t like how they are killing off so many people.

  58. CK April 22, 2010 at 12:07 pm -

wow – low numbers for dance final – thought it would do better. that opening number was awesome!!

Great to see MC do so well – love it!! and watched hey hey in ads and thought it was fairly slow so not surprised about its ratings

I had the misfortune to catch some of HHIS last night. Oh my God, can you say “train wreck”? Awful, absolutely terrible. They’ve got nothing to be smug about, considering the disastrous drop in ratings it has had after only one week back on air. I predict under 1M viewers within the next fortnight. MC will continue to flog it, no sweat.

Wow, how much TV do people wtach on a Wednesday. Good to see Spicks and Specks nearly reach a million, when over 1 million watch Dance, 1.2 watched Hey Hey and Pacific just under 1.5 and Masterchef 1.6 million. A huge night. Ch 10 must be happy that they are having success with MC again. @ Dino if they lost 300,000 this week they could lose more…..

I think the most underrate comedy on TV at the moment has to be Beautiful People. It’s the only show I actually laugh uncontrollably at, even if the second series isn’t as seamless and innocent as the first. The mother (from Peep Show- her name escapes me) is absolute gold.

master chef is on a roll and it was a tough task last night. 10 would be well and truely dissapointed with the sytycd finale numbers

  64. Brenton April 22, 2010 at 10:46 am -

Hey Hey wasn’t good at all last night, it will last the 10 episodes but by the 10th it won’t be rating over 1 million.

  65. RichoTB April 22, 2010 at 10:24 am -

So good to see HHIS taken down a few notches. Never understood why that thing was ratings its socks off. Hooray for MasterChef

  66. Dino April 22, 2010 at 10:20 am -

Facepalm Darryl Somers. How long til the extremely stale and awkward Hey Hey is under 1m, next week? We can only hope!

  67. JB April 22, 2010 at 10:17 am -

That’s gotta be the end of SYTYCD. Absolutely woeful numbers. Barely 1 mil.

I’m so happy MC won again and Hey Hey took a dive to 3rd for the timeslot!

Got my complaint response back from Seven about shows running over time. They say it’s not because they show more ads. But that the rules are 14 mins of ads per hour which is done on the hour but shows start at half past. And that news segments and program sponsorships that feature before shows which add to the overtime aren’t included as ads.

So basically they’re showing a 45 minute show plus 14 mins of ads, plus numerous program sponsorships, plus news breaks which in total goes well over the hour. So they say they’re doing nothing wrong, it’s within the rules, we don’t care that we lie and say a show will start at half past. Most of the shows i watch are on Seven but i’m beginning to hate them as much as Nine. At least Nine tell you Survivor will start at 8.40, and it usually does. Give us the correct start and end time and there would be no problem.

@Trev, no it was definitely TT. I watch 7 News and so TT was after it, but ACA did a story too apparently.

Agree with those about NCIS being worse, it is a favourite of mine, but i’ve found myself being less interested this season.

Lost, we now know what the whispers are. Cross that off the list.

  71. Cin April 22, 2010 at 12:04 am -

    @aznfratboy
Masterchef is about finding the best ametuer cook not chef.

  72. Sarah April 21, 2010 at 11:57 pm -

Sheesh, TT and ACA didn’t waste any time trying to out contestants from MC did they? It’s a complete waste of air time. They are determined to try and make MC look bad when in fact, the more stories they do about it the more people will tune into watch MC, and the more petty and desperate Seven and Nine look by trying to drag their biggest competition into the dirt to sway viewers. Any publicity is good publicity these days and you’d think the big networks like Nine and Seven would know that already. They are just playing into the hands of Ten.
Its so embarrassing to see them stoop so low.

I absolutely loved the Pacific. Real life stories of real life heroes. Great Aussie cast involved and although they played miniscule parts it was still nice to see them be part of this series. It will be interesting to see how it rates tomorrow.

  73. Trev April 21, 2010 at 11:10 pm -

@ JB. The two stories you accused TT of doing were in fact on Nines ACA.

  74. Begbie April 21, 2010 at 10:39 pm -

Pacific was a tad boring tonight, however, production quality outstanding; 1942 Melbourne looked authentic enough. Also, agree with whoever commented on NCIS getting worse. That dull main character is totally unbelievable and makes up the rules as he goes along, very annoying!

  75. aznfratboy April 21, 2010 at 10:34 pm -

Absolutely putrid that shows like AGT and Masterchef are rating so well…

Also, MasterChef, is the biggest misrepresentation of what a restaurant really is like… these contestants believe that if they can cook a pasta dish in half an hour in frnt of 3 guys and they can run a multi-million dollar restaurant, I’ve worked as a waiter, kitchenhand and filled in a couple of times as a chef for nearly ten years, what people don’t realise is it isn’t one dish per half hour, it’s ten, twenty per half hour for four, five hours straight, with douchey customers bitching on about the most minute details, that’s the reality of a kitchen, not holding your breath, staring down a camera and hoping a moron who btw, didn’t know how a brocolli was, and this is the best chef in Australia…? Back on topic though, it’s an absolutely awful depiction of what is expected of a chef… why don’t they actually put a camera in a kitchen, without the British assface going ” Imma stand her and go f*** you repeatedly because the viewers like that” and you can see exactly how a real kitchen is.

Yes out of the 100. I always list profile shows like Ugly Betty, 24, Lost etc if they make the cut.
