Yes funsters,it’s that time again…
Eurovision 2010 will soon be upon us.
This year we are off to Telenor Arena, Oslo, Norway, after Alexander Rybak won with his zippy violin number “Fairytale” in Moscow.
SBS will once again be screening the two Semi-Finals and Final across one mega-weekend May 28 – 30. RocKwiz host Julia Zemiro plus Sam Pang will again be providing commentary on the ground in between acts.
There are 39 countries this year with Germany and Azerbaijan currently sitting atop the bookies favourites. Eurovision will continue to use a mix of public and judge voting which was re-introduced last year in order to avoid bloc-votes by neighbouring countries (especially those naughty Eastern European states).
The dates of the Australian broadcasts are:
SEMI FINAL 1: Friday, May 28 @ 7.30pm, SBS ONE.
SEMI FINAL 2: Saturday, May 29 @ 7.30pm, SBS ONE.
FINAL: Sunday, May 30 @ 7.30pm, SBS ONE.
SBS will also screen Eurovision: A – Z, a celebration of all things Euro-tragic with various special guests, former participants and classic clips on Saturday May 22nd.
Get your party started….

we’re going to have to hope that pesky Volcano in Iceland behaves itself over the next few weeks, so everyone can get to Oslo
Nothing beats BBC’s Terry Wogan. Shame he retired
Yaaaay!! Love Eurovision…love the German song, with how tactical the voting is, not sure it will win though. saying that, the final is Televoting and Jury Voting this year so, who knows…
@Troy +1. I completely agree. It makes the experience painful.
I give 12 points to Graham.
Would prefer the BBC Graham Norton commentary rather than Julia Zemiro. She wasn’t very good last year.
If you want to find out about the more technical sides of the show have a look at this diary of the set up by the shows production manager

Don’t forget that Junior Eurovision 2009 is also getting a replay on Tuesday May 25th at 1pm! Plus the EBU produced Countdown To Eurovision shows air on Friday 14th and 21st at 4pm.
Looking forward to this again, always seems to come around very fast each year.
don’t forget there’s also “Countdown To Eurovision”… i think it starts next Friday?
