The annual rumour list of names for the new season of Dancing with the Stars is gathering.

Alex Fevola, wife of AFL player Brendan Fevola is believed to be in contention.

The Sunday Herald Sun notes gambling debts accrued by Brendan Fevola may weigh into her decision on a Seven offer.

Others believed to have been approached for the new season include Home and Away‘s Esther Anderson, Miss Universe contender Rachel Finch and Packed to the Rafters star George Houvardas.

If Seven is resorting to partners of sports players (and not even the players themselves) it might be time to think about renaming the show.

  1. no way did the show decline when daryll left, the show started when dan started. the chemistry between dan&son is great and he can string 2 sentences together.

    Lieth, if you don’t know any of the people on the US version this year you should really broaden your horizons. there are some very famous people on it.

  3. they should have stopped when darryl left even thou he is apolarising figure, either people loath or love, he was hammy enough and was able to speak on his feet for the who to be a bit fun. Also at thet point they were running short of “stars”

  4. DWTS jumped the shark IMO when Daryl left and Daniel MacPherson joined. That’s right, when Daryl left. As cheesy as he was (or is), Daryl was good on Dancing, and had a good chemistry with Sonia. All the “cougar” innuendo between Sonia and Daniel is so passé.

  11. The US season had some big names this season: Pam Anderson, Shannon Doherty, Nicole Scherzinger, Buzz Aldrin and Kate Gosling.

    What about the chk chk boom chick? Corey Worthington? We don’t seem to have as many “stars” as the States.

  12. Over the years dwts have had some great people on it but please don’t have Alex Fevola on the show. She is only a WAG and apart from producing a book she is a nobody. The other names listed I don’t mind. Whyd on’t they look to some former atheltes like Cathy Freeman or I know they have tried to get him before but I reckon Pat Rfater would be really good to have on the show.

  14. Whoopi Goldberg refers to the US series as “Dancing with the Star”, singular, as there’s usually only one real star at the most anyway. The rest is just filler.
