Pamela Anderson guests on Dancing with the Stars

Former Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson will appear on the season premiere of Dancing with the Stars this Sunday on Seven.

The American star was a big hit on the US version of the show with Aussie dance partner Damian Whitewood, finishing in the top six. Both will appear this Sunday night when the tenth series kicks off.

“I am doubly excited to be returning to Australia. It is one of my very favourite countries in the world to visit – great people, great beaches, great (veggie) food and everything I love. And this time I am coming back with my dearest new Australian friend, the man who took on the task of teaching me how to dance, Damian Whitewood!”

She added: “It is really a thrill. I had a fantastic time dancing on the US version of the show and I am so looking forward to re-visiting that experience in a new context making new friends.”

Anderson famously joined in TEN’s final season of Big Brother in 2008, netting enormous publicity, including when she protested outside a KFC store on the Gold Coast. At least if she takes aim at the fast food chain again this time it is unlikely to actually be sponsoring the show.

Dancing with the Stars
returns 6:30pm this Sunday on Seven.

  1. Yeah, IIRC the Big Brother episode entitled “Pammy Busts into the Big Brother house” rated its, er, tits off. I suppose DWTS will be hoping for the same.

  2. @VMan, I wasn’t saying Pamela caused Big Brother to be axed, I’m saying it because I hope DWTS gets axed, cause personaly its an old tired and boring show. No offense.

  3. Actually Richard W, Pamela Anderson managed to secure the best ratings for a non-finale episode that year, and if there was any reason to keep Big Brother on in the eyes of TEN, it would’ve been because of her. Unfortunately she wasn’t good enough to save a flogging ship. It rated good when she was there, it rated crap when she wasn’t.

  4. Just remember, Big Brother got axed the same year Pamela appeared on the show.. hopefully they will do the same for Dancing With The “So Called” Stars…

  5. But KFC is a major sponsor of another thing 7 airs: the V8 Supercars.

Wouldn’t want to harm the deal with the V8’s, if you had Pamela Anderson picketing outside a Melbourne KFC store, with 7 cameras following.
