Celebrity Chef Live for Crown

Nine's Celebrity Chef Live will star 12 Australian and international celebrities cooking for guests in 5-star restaurant at Crown.

After revealing the details on Seven’s Conviction Kitchen yesterday, TV Tonight can now reveal some of the plans for Nine’s new cooking event.

Under the working title Celebrity Chef Live, this will be filmed in mid-September with 12 Australian and international celebrities cooking for guests in 5-star restaurant at Crown in Melbourne.

An Australian celebrity chef who heads up the restaurant will serve as mentor for the celeb cooks, with one eliminated every night across its two week run on Nine.

The winner lands money for a lucky charity.

The show also promises a glamorous red-carpet touch with limousines bringing invited guests to the venue, Logies-style.

Celebrity-chefs will also get some pre-show training before filming begins.

  1. “unforseen complications”? What – like no celebrity chef worth their salt would lower thenselves to appear on yet another piece of celebrity drivle nine has dreamed up?? Hrumph! Can’t wait to see what D grade celebs line up for this!

  2. Yeah I’ll check it out. So Nine’s programming goes on Holidays for 2 weeks? Maybe this will air in the 2 weeks stint of the Commonwealth Games?

  3. 9 definitely needs more cooking shows it is the current craze like lifestyle and factuals have been in the past. and so far 9 have been the least involved. but i find this an odd path to take after celebrity masterchef was a flop even with the MC branding. then there is the hurdle with celeb shows that no matter how famous the stars are you cannot please everyone and people will always say it is a bunch of nobodies.

out of all these cooking shows the only one i would want to see to My Restaraunt Rules. The Boss is coming to dinner, Celebrity Chef Live, Conviction Kitchen, Iron Chef, Julie Goodwin: Home Cooked, and the next MC spinoff do not interest me.

  4. I can see this one working, particularly since it only has a short run. Of course, it partly depends on the calibre of the celebrities (although DWTS gets by without any).
