Glee: Season 2 spoilers

Spoiler: Plotlines for the second season of Glee have been revealed by Ryan Murphy at Comic Con in San Diego.

SPOILER: The Glee panel at Comic Con in San Diego has seen creator Ryan Murphy talking about some of his plans for Season Two (some sites just plastered the news all over their headlines, but not here!).

Broadly speaking Season Two will include more focus on the central characters.

“The next season will be more intimate,” Murphy said. “People think we’re gonna be bigger and bigger, more crazy,”

“Those characters pop so much that I want to see a whole episode of Brittany, a whole episode of Artie and Tina,” he said.

The number of musical numbers per episode will be cut from eight to five.

Also revealed:

– A Rocky Horror Picture Show episode.

– More tribute episodes, including a tribute to a classic musical. “I can see Artie busting out some ‘Guys and Dolls,’ ” he said.

– An episode devoted to Britney Spears. Murphy revealed that Matthew Morrison (who wasn’t present at the panel) once told a reporter that he never, ever wanted to sing Spears on the program. “So the entire episode is Schuester saying, ‘I don’t want to do Britney! I don’t want to do Britney!’” Murphy added it will be done in “a fun, hallucinogenic way.”

– Kurt will find a boyfriend this season. “I wanted Kurt to have the high school experience that I didn’t have,” said Murphy. “I want him to have a boyfriend and for them to be prom king and king. I think that’s something important to put out into the world.”

– Tina will fall out of love with Artie and in love with Mike Chang.

– An episode devoted to cheerleader Brittany.

– A religion-themed hour with Mercedes at her church and Kurt will be attending as well.

– The writers are discussing a Brittany and Santana kiss (!!!).

– Kristin Chenoweth returns (yay!)

Wicked star Idina Menzel will be coming back.

– Post Super Bowl episode: “We’re in talks to do a huge tribute episode but the deal hasn’t closed yet so I can’t say.

“Nothing says Super Bowl to me like Glee, ” he joked.

  1. all this is great news but the icing on the cake has to be Kurt finding a boyfriend (and especially the reason Ryan Murphy gave for it… that alone gives me goosebumps)… i constantly play all the cds and miss it already !!

  2. SMAC, that “sex dream” line came to mind as I read your first sentence. She was the highlight of season one for me. As much as I love ONJ and think she did a terrific job in the finale, the April Rhodes eps are my favourite. Hadn’t heard of Ms. Chenoweth before Glee, now I’m in love with her!

  3. Yay to all of those things mentioned. I’m excited. I really hope they give more speaking roles to Mike Chang, and Matt, because they’re there all the time, and get little, but Santana and Brittany have been able to shine.

  4. I was at this panel earlier today and what is listed above is spot on. I was also interested to see Australian Rebel Wilson there in the VIP section. She is represented by the same team that represent Ryan Murphy.

  5. oh i am so happy to hear Kristin Chenoweth returns. she is great and should be on the show fulltime i think. great voice, acting and so funny.

“well as i live and breath Will Schuester, i just had a sex dream about you” would have to be one of the funniest lines on TV this year!!!
