Host Daryl Somers could barely hide his glee with confirmation announced last night that Hey Hey it’s Saturday would return to its namesake later this year.
The show will return to Saturdays when it is back for seven more episodes after the Commonwealth Games in October.
Somers made the announcement at the end of the first block of 2010 episodes last night. It is a win for fans of the show who had been longing for it to be reinstated on Saturdays.
Kylie Minogue proved to be hugely popular with the studio audience last night, performing two sexy songs, judging Red Faces and chatting to Somers.
When she joked that “this show will rate!” Somers couldn’t help but ask, “You don’t cook by any chance, do you?”

I’ll watch it now. Didn’t want to watch it on Wednesday on principle. How stupid having “Hey hey it’s Saturday” on Wednesday. Weird!!!
Please please please Network Nine, move Hey Hey into the 6:30 slot and move the un-funny video show somewhere else!
Good to hear it is back on saturdays… now the next fight, will it go back to 6.30?
Was it actually Kylie that came out at the start of the show and walked up through the audience? It looked nothing like her at all, and for some reason looked like a double… or was that just me?
The right thing to do.
but in saying that i think the show is past it’s use by date.
