Top Gun nearly has a spill on Top Gear

What happened when Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz took to the lap for Top Gear?

He was the Top Gun on the big screen and now Tom Cruise takes to the wheel for Top Gear‘s celebrity lap on the small screen.

Cruise and Knight and Day co-star Cameron Diaz both featured in the ‘Star in a Reasonably Priced Car’ segment.

At one point Cruise’s car looked set for disaster (you can check the video).

The episode is the fifth in the new series which begins tonight on Nine at 7:30pm.

  1. Yes, I agree that this was the best studio episode in a long time.

The Senna section of this episode might have to be edited though, because Bernie Ecclestone (the F1 commercial boss) apparently only allowed the F1 footage to be used in the Sunday night premiere and tonight’s repeat in the UK.

  2. @jay-jay – A few commercials I can handle, but we are talking about nearly a third of the show being adds. I’m sorry, but that just kills the flow and hence why I record it and watch it with the fast forward button. Don’t get me wrong, i’m more than happy to pay to watch the show, however I no longer think commercial television is the answer, they’ve gone to far with commercial interuptions in my view. It’s time for some real change and more choice with our media options.

  3. @Greg- 9 is bringing the 90min UK version to Australia for the first time (SBS showed the international version). Im sure a few commercials (which allow free tv to exist by the way) are worth enduring! Without commercials, you would only have ABC to keep you occupied

  4. Just glad to be getting new episodes instead of re-runs. Got my PVR set so I can record it, then fast forward all the commercial breaks which nine pounds the show with.

  5. This show was one of the best Top Gear programs ever, Richard in the new Volkswagen Touareg, James in the new Bugatti Veyron Super Sport but the best part was the tribute to Ayrton Senna.

I think Nine will be very please with this series.
