Any figures for Myles Barlow? I hope they play it again on ABC1 at some point. Seems a shame to waste it on ABC2

  2. JB July 25, 2010 at 10:56 pm -

What are all you people watching Monk instead of?? I’ve been wanting to see Monk back on tv for years. I haven’t even seen the season with the new assistant cos Ten screwed it around. And now they’ve shown the finale in other cities. Jealous.

  3. Butters July 25, 2010 at 7:04 pm -

@ koverstreet – Ten were playing S7 earlier this year, but have run doubles most weeks, and have gotten through that season as well as Season 8. Certain markets definitely got to see “Mr Monk and The End” Parts One and Two on Saturday night.

IIRC, Several seasons were played on Ten HD only at some point, which made it very difficult for those of us who didn’t have access to that channel. Anyway, Seasons 1-7 are on DVD now, and now that Ten have played out Season 8, it shouldn’t be too long before it too is released.

  4. Mr. chandler July 25, 2010 at 4:56 pm -

how deso btg get that many numbers. it’s such a rubbish show with rubbish comedians and a couple of wannabe afl media heavy weights on it

  5. bogan pride July 25, 2010 at 3:35 pm -

@steven guy. You are spot on. Monk was in my opinion one of the best shows on tv. And it was wasted on a saturday night. So wasted in fact. That i had to go out, and only got back to catch the last few mins of the last episode. I didn’t even know it was the final episode, until they did the music montage at the end. I was thinking wtf? Aw well. I guess it’s the box set of dvds for me. Ten should have showed the last few seasons as well. I’m just so sick of reality shows. Even “classy” ones like MC.

  6. koverstreet July 25, 2010 at 2:51 pm -

10 stuffed Monk around for years so i got fed up and got it from other sources. And I think they skipped about 2 or 3 seasons! also weren’t 10 playing s7? There’s an 8th season so it can’t have finished yet.

  7. Butters July 25, 2010 at 2:41 pm -

I too enjoyed the Monk Finale – although I understand that the two part finale only aired last night in Sydney, with other markets such as Wagga and Brisbane a few episodes behind due to different timeslots for the AFL on various weeks – Sydney often got two episodes while other markets just got the one.

For those who drifted away (no doubt thanks to the horrendous scheduling from Ten), it’s well worth coming back for the finale.

But credit where its due – even if it wasn’t played in Vic/WA/SA, at least Ten persisted with Monk this year and finally played it out. At least that means the DVDs can now be released for the fans in those states who didn’t get to see it.

  8. steven guy July 25, 2010 at 2:01 pm -

Thanks David, sorry bout the rude word ;-))

  9. David Knox July 25, 2010 at 1:24 pm -

    Monk 207,000 for two cities.

  10. steven guy July 25, 2010 at 1:21 pm -

Wow, Monk was brilliant last night and it didn’t even make the saturday list. It was a wonderful double episode and the grand final for the show. 10 really wasted this series over in a shi**y time slot !

Gonna miss you Mr Monk !

  11. Joe July 25, 2010 at 12:34 pm -

Why don’t the ratings for sat arvo and sat night afl just say on ten and one and have combined ratings as they are both shown at the same time? Or at least show the ratings for afl on one down the bottom Just showing tens afl ratings can be misleading for us as a lot of people also like to watch the afl in hd on one.

  12. Darryn July 24, 2010 at 8:03 pm -

so funny watching the bogans and old people wet there pants over one weeks ratings. going to be even funnier in the next few weeks when mastercon is gone.

  13. Ryan July 24, 2010 at 5:56 pm -

Thats a massive rise for mc on last weeks masterclass, also jamie is doing really well and good cause im really liking the show! he finally stated getting through to the kids so next week will be even better.
Just imagine if there was no digital channels this yr and it was just based on primary!! 7 and 9 would be fkt lol

  14. koverstreet July 24, 2010 at 4:00 pm -

@ craig – actually Nine is in front of Seven by .6% I think so you’d think there’s a good chance of Seven coming third.

  15. Johnson July 24, 2010 at 3:02 pm -

Huge figures for MC MasterClass even though it was down from last year’s 1.95 million. Jamie Oliver and The 7pm Project did well too. Last night’s AFL match between St Kilda and my favourite team Hawthorn was a ripper and deserved the ratings. It probably helped Seven winning the night in total people.

  16. Daniel July 24, 2010 at 2:10 pm -

@ Jarred. The final Masterclass was last night and as reported on this site, it was funny as. I watched it and laughed so hard it was funny. I’m sure most of those poeple who watched would have to say best ep thus far.

  17. Craig July 24, 2010 at 1:49 pm -

So TEN only has a lead over Seven of 6.5 points (as far as I can work out) will this be enough for TEN to win the week if they have their usual slow Saturday night?

This must be the worst week for Nine in a long time, likely to come 3rd for the week. Late week TEN was 7.5 points behind Seven on Saturday.

  18. Steve July 24, 2010 at 1:34 pm -

I disagree with Bogan pride- i think the hosts on 7pm Project are actually quite good. They have settled into their roles and they are very entertaining. I do agree with you about if it was on 7 or 9 it wouldn’t have survived. Ten seems to be the only network that will goive shows a chance- and it’s worked for them- good on them!

  19. Jarred July 24, 2010 at 12:23 pm -

Why are the Masterclass figures so high, must be because its finals week, everyones getting their last dose before it finishes. TEN deserve to win the week.

Big figures for 7pm project on a Friday, usually its only 800k, must be because MC evictee and Matt Preston were on, they seem to boost the ratings no matter where they go.

A ripping AFL match last night that deserved to beat the NRL. An increase in Melbourne viewers as well, usually its below 400k, but having 2 victorian clubs will always increase that number. Crap figures for BHG, put live AFL on Seven.

  20. Mark July 24, 2010 at 11:48 am -

@Ryan Tactical Response aren’t supposed to randomly shoot people. Those blue guys were not only criminals they were also hostages. If the cops did shoot they would also get slaughtered.

  21. russell July 24, 2010 at 11:45 am -

I won tickets to see rush episode 1 and 2 and i liked the 2nd episode better. i also seen episode 5 to get filmed and that going to be a good episode. I hope it get more people watching it after sea patrol finish…. good luck rush

  22. Steve July 24, 2010 at 11:38 am -

As I was scrolling down, I was thinking “wow, is this the first time the 7pm Project has got over a million for every day of the week?” then I saw they were let down by Monday.

  23. bogan pride July 24, 2010 at 11:03 am -

I know this is a little late. But I’m a little ticked off by go/9 moving chuck to 1 am. Just wish that channels will give shows a chance at building up a audience. Look at 7pm. Don’t go much on the show, myself. As someone said. Great concept, bad hosts. But if it had been on 9 or 7 it would have been long gone.
Well thats my whinge for the week.

  24. David Knox July 24, 2010 at 10:53 am -

TEN is going to win the week.

  25. Ryan July 23, 2010 at 11:34 pm -

I wonder if Ten are going to show a major promo for what they have in the second half of the yr during the mc finale? It would make sense wouldn;t it? I havn’t seen a major promo from ten at all this yr

  26. warren July 23, 2010 at 9:15 pm -

To Craig re AFL figures in Melbourne for footy show exceeding actual games.

  27. Ryan July 23, 2010 at 8:24 pm -

Dissapointing figures for Rush, watched parts and wasn’t impressed, everyone talks about shooting someone means to kill them, I rekon police should be told to shoot them in the shoulder or the leg if they cant defuse a situation! hell i would. For all those promo’s Ten played for pretty much no return really sucks. Didn’t help that we saw the plane a million times and then nothing happened, if it was a real show the plane would have hit the car and flipped it into the air and then the car exploding!! lol

  28. Mr. chandler July 23, 2010 at 7:22 pm -

damochandler today tonights obsession with master chef is beyond embarassing. food bloggers has nothing to with master chef you idiots. get over it . it’s not coming to your channel and trying to make rubbish copy cat shows won’t make up for it

  29. Jarred July 23, 2010 at 5:11 pm -

    @ Craig,
That rarely happens, it was the Akermanis story that boosted the ratings as you would expect. Having watched a taped version of it today, I can see why more people watched it. Having a club CEO on to answer questions about Akermanis’ sacking when aker was sitting right next to him was always going to be a ratings winner, very good idea by the producers.

  30. TDJ July 23, 2010 at 4:55 pm -

So when is Nine going to apologize for their incompetence. Not that it really means anything, but for all those idiots that think programs have to have more than a million viewers, in a country of only 21 million, it did on Wednesday. It just reinforces that fact that it was Nines stupidity, not the program that affected it’s audience a couple of weeks ago. Not to mention that I predicted this before Hey Hey started. This idiot network always screws up programs dumped on a Wednesday, MacClouds Daughters ring a bell. It now appears that the program will return on the appropriate night. Like usual Ten is stuffing around fans of Numbers by running a repeat of Rush. Given the programs apparently million plus rating this does not appear justified. Just another stupid move. Ten knows where it can stick itself tonight.

  31. Harry July 23, 2010 at 4:31 pm -

To all the people who are complaining because the team on Rush didnt shoot the bad guys – shooting is Noy an option for the Tactical Response team. There objective is to resolve the situation without killing someone. If they had shot at the masked figures who came out of the roller door last night, they would killed around 20 people, majority innocent.

  32. Harry July 23, 2010 at 3:59 pm -

Rush was awesome. It pulled a bad number – after the amount of ads we saw for it (basically every hour for 3 weeks) I was expecting at least a 1.3 million +. Oh well, at least it won its timeslot.

The episode was enjoyable; the production/filming has evolved so much since its first season. I do hope it gains viewers next week though, otheriwse this fantastic show could be in a bit of trouble.

  33. BM-dog July 23, 2010 at 3:47 pm -

Jarred – no one in the NRL states watches the NRL Footy Show because it sucks. The production is a complete shambles and they insist on featuring duds like Mario Fenech and Darryl Brohman. The only good part is Beau Knows, and even that’s patchy.

  34. David Knox July 23, 2010 at 3:39 pm -

TEN repeating the episode tonight at 10pm.

  35. ducko July 23, 2010 at 3:30 pm -

I’m not the only one who thought Rush was unbelievable. So if something happens in Switerland that makes it believable for Australia. Ok. Next week there’ll be an avalanche on Collins Street (near the Paris end, of course.)

  36. Doyle July 23, 2010 at 3:03 pm -

    SA

  37. Kai July 23, 2010 at 3:02 pm -

Rush was completely unbelievable — but I didn’t expect it to be believable. It’s a show where you Have to suspend your belief of reality (slightly) to enjoy it, and if you can’t do that perhaps tune into one of the more “believable” shows, like CS.. oh wait…

Disappointing it rated the way it did, but not exactly surprising with the dodgy promos TEN give it that don’t reflect the look and feel of the show.

  38. @Ducko July 23, 2010 at 1:46 pm -

Funny you thought Rush was so unbelievable. Was pulled from a real event which took place in Switzerland last year.

  39. andrew July 23, 2010 at 1:42 pm -

Rush – I think the guy in the office base -that was on Secret Life of Us needs a good haircut and a wash. He always looks as if he just got out of a crumply bed and slept in the same clothes.

  40. Elizabeth July 23, 2010 at 1:39 pm -

Despite all the viewers who did not like Rush, I did, so bring on next week. We can’t always have a Hollywood ending, and the reality of the last 5 minutes is if the TR team shot at people, they didn’t know which ones were hostages or the criminals. We can’t always shoot at the criminals and viewers will be disappointed, but it doesn’t mean the next episode will be the same.

  41. DC July 23, 2010 at 1:32 pm -

its a shame Rushrated so poorly> i do really want it to do well and really Want to like it, but it was very patchy last night.
I think what Rush does best and in effect what producer John Edwards does best is character based stuff. The action stuff seems lifeless and boring and i just dont really care whats going on with the 1 dimensional bad guys!

Rush is great when we go in depth with the main cast, like the episode where Clare Van Der booms character died in season 1. I think the writers are the main issue…less flashy boring chase scenes and more insight into the characters.
Last night there was an introduction of a new police offer Christian…andIll use the term ‘ introduction” lightly. We learned nothing about him or how he came about joining the team…he just appeared in the back seat of the car in one scene with no explanation!

Poor storylines are whats killing the show, I cant sympathise or feel know anything about any of the main cast!

Well….you only have to avoid between 9:30pm Sunday and you watching the event. At the most 2 hrs if you are in WA.

  43. Doyle July 23, 2010 at 1:17 pm -

I wont be on internet, nor will i visit Tv tonight, till after MC is done and dusted.

  44. David Knox July 23, 2010 at 12:46 pm -

Yes Rush drop is a concern. Shame, it’s a good product.

I hope South Australians are glued to their TV and not their internet. That half hour difference will spoil them big time.

  45. Johnson July 23, 2010 at 12:39 pm -

Ten will be disappointed with Rush’s ratings last night. It dropped 100,000 viewers from last year’s season opener, also after MasterChef. Rush also lost in Sydney and Brisbane to Sea Patrol. Next week will be a real test against the season finale of SP.
As for MasterChef, 910,000 in Melbourne is huge. Strangely, the Sydney audience figure dropped for two nights in a row. With two South Australians competing, Sunday’s finale could be one of the most-watched programs in Adelaide in the past decade. It will beat 383,000 who watched Poh losing to Julie in last year’s decider, and probably 430,000 who watched Port Adelaide beating Brisbane Lions in the 2004 AFL Grand Final? Will it get close to Guy Sebastian’s win in 2003 Australian Idol finale, or the 1997 and 1998 AFL Grand Finals when the Crows went back-to-back? We will have to wait and see.

@ john jackson – living in brisbane i didn’t even know Hey Hey existed until the promos started for hey hey it’s saturday night (it’s original title) back in 1984 and I’ve only ever known it as the night version. Although of course I know of it’s previous incarnation and have seen the old clips.

  47. ozgeek July 23, 2010 at 12:31 pm -

Given that 3/4 of the MC finalists from the last two years have hailed from SA, surely they should move the show to Adelaide rather than Melbourne. Disappoined that GG didn’t stop by to say hi. Most of the high ranking army dudes I’ve known will always stick their head into the kitchen to say well done after a formal bash. It’s protocol – and ensures they won’t poison you one day out of malice.

  48. MrCookiepants July 23, 2010 at 12:02 pm -

MasterChef ratings are not That much higher compared to last year at this point. ‘The Winner Announced’ may hit 4 million, but 4.5 or 5 like some people are saying. Still a record, though.

  49. Ja'mie July 23, 2010 at 11:49 am -

I’m not sure what’s more impressive; MasterChef getting 2.5m, or Rush managing to lose 1.5m viewers from that lead in.

  50. John Jackson July 23, 2010 at 11:43 am -

@Doyle, Hey Hey hasn’t been on Saturday mornings for ages! I know it once was.. but that was years, years back. It is more commonly known as a Saturday night show. Although saying that in 1997 they did also somewhat return to mornings at the same time with the show ‘Plucka’s Place’. It had Plucka Duck of course, but the humans on that were Livinia Nixon and Daniel Kowalski.

  51. Andrew July 23, 2010 at 11:42 am -

Pretty respectable ratings figurs for ABC News 24

  52. Craig July 23, 2010 at 11:38 am -

Funny how the AFL Footy show out rates the actual Game of AFL in Melbourne. Shows which has more entertainment on TV.

  53. Jarred July 23, 2010 at 11:38 am -

7pm Project wins its timeslot for the 2nd or 3rd time this week and ratings for the MC juggernaut are still increasing, can this show be stopped, me no think so.

Increase in numbers for the AFL footy show, must be the akermanis story. Increases occurred in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Conversely, what is happening in the so called NRL states with the NRL footy show, why is no one watching it? Cmon guys, support your code!

Axe Getaway Nine, expensive show, crap show, crap presenters and crap ratings for the last 3 or 4 weeks now. In fact, besides MC, that Thursday 7.30pm -8.30pm timeslot is very uncompetitive. The shows (besides MC) are all competing for last spot each week.

  54. callas July 23, 2010 at 11:30 am -

I did not enjoy Rush at all last night (was basically a rehash of any of the previous episodes) but as I love Rodger Corser i’ll keep watching !!

  55. salf July 23, 2010 at 11:23 am -

very disappointing for Rush. i haven’t watched it yet (PVR’d & watched sea patrol) but spoken to a few fans of the show they said it was rubbish.

IMO the hierarchy of drama atm is way off. out of PTTR, CH, SP, R:SO, and Rush. City Homicide is by far the best, this week especially but is the worst rating. PTTR is good but not to the proportion of its ratings lead.

  56. ducko July 23, 2010 at 11:20 am -

@ Nik C, aren’t we allowed to have an opinion which differs from yours?
I’ll watch Sea Patrol next week, which BTW, is an Aussie show.

  57. Jake July 23, 2010 at 10:53 am -

True Beauty did well considering it was on 11pm to midnight!

  58. Nik C July 23, 2010 at 10:48 am -

Having just read all the negative comments about Rush, go and watch your crap and I’ll support Aussie TV since I live in Australia and I enjoyed it. Gees no pleasing some people!!

  59. Nik C July 23, 2010 at 10:46 am -

Excellent Rush won its timeslot against some good competition. I hope this continues post MC and against Sea Patrol for one more week, and then what ever crap Ch7 put on (Beauty and the Geek was there in the second half of the year). Congrats Rush!!

  60. BJ July 23, 2010 at 10:40 am -

How does the NRL Footy Show survive on Channel 9? Ratings are terrible.

Hey Hey copped a media hammering for its ratings, but Fatty and Co seem to be immune from the same level of criticism?

Last night, just over 200,000 people watched that show in Sydney (Australia’s largest city) and Brisbane. Should have been axed long ago.

  61. george July 23, 2010 at 10:39 am -

4.5million for mc finale i reckon

  62. koverstreet July 23, 2010 at 10:13 am -

    Massive drop off for Rush.

MC is also killing Getaway at the moment but it’ll probably pick back up next week.

  63. ducko July 23, 2010 at 10:12 am -

Disappointing result for Rush after a great lead-in. Bondi Vet did much better last week. Rush was terrible, totally unbelievable. I won’t be back.

  64. Doyle July 23, 2010 at 2:08 am -

@ Bogan Pride, is’nt Hey hey, a saturday morning kinda thang, thats how i remember it.

  65. JB July 22, 2010 at 10:39 pm -

@andrew, agree and disagree. I thought it was looking to be a great episode and was really suspenseful, but then the ending was just like come on. Where’s the action?? Massive letdown but was good until the last 15 minutes.

  66. KenNen July 22, 2010 at 10:09 pm -

Well if masterchef can move to melbourne then the ratings will cook a storm.

  67. andrew July 22, 2010 at 9:53 pm -

Rush….after all the build up I was really looking forward to it. How stupid it was. Firstly the RDA was terrible in the first 15 mins you couldn’t understand half of what anyone said. Then I got into it thinking OK this is Now going somewhere. But once the crew got into the heist building and Didn’t shoot the masked men 2x after mins of the build up of you go first…don’t shoot from each crew person to the other, then in full site they didn’t shoot….waiting…waiting…then its clear they’re planning a helicopter getaway and all the police are on the roof …waiting…waiting….they don’t shoot the helicopter driver, nor the legs of those carrying the dollars (so as not to hurt potential hostages)…and the hostages just get on the helicopter and get away. Really this was just a stupid show – unbelievable.
