WIN News Director appointment

WIN appoints Chief of Staff Chris Rickey as its WIN News Director.

Chris Rickey, who has been Chief of Staff – WIN News Illawarra and WIN Radio, has been appointed as WIN News Director.

He will take responsibility for all aspects of WIN News effective immediately.

CEO John Hatcher said, “Chris has great flair, insight, energy and expertise and will be a great leader of WIN News.

“Australian’s rely on The WIN News Hour weeknights from 6pm – it’s Australia’s most comprehensive hour of local and national news with a significant reputation to uphold, we’re committed to continued enhancement of our 21 daily bulletins across Australia, the WIN News Director is a pivotal role in that quest.”

Rickey said, “I’m looking forward to working on the big picture issues, harnessing WIN News’ impressive human and technological resources to deliver and develop first class news to our audience.

“Having worked as journalist, news producer and a newsroom chief of staff, I’m extremely excited about taking this next step forward.”

Rickey will be based in Wollongong.

  1. I don’t rely on the WIN News Hour. I live in Sydney. John Hatcher is mistaken that “Australian’s rely on The WIN News Hour weeknights from 6pm”.

    I can pick up WIN but I don’t watch it – I watch Nine.
