The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards were dominated by Modern Family, Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Temple Grandin.

The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards opened with an hilarious Glee sketch in which host Jimmy Fallon recruited the kids from the FOX musical, along with Tina Fey, Betty White, Jane Lynch, Randy Jackson, Joel McHale, Jorge Garcia, Jon Hamm and Tim Gunn. Fallon sang “Springsteen’s “Born to Run.

  1. The best set up next year, is for Ten to show the Emmys live on their Eleven channel, or alternatively show the full version at night time on Eleven, not on Ten.

  2. I find Top Chef to be the best culinary show on television, except perhaps for Heston’s Feasts. So well done for the win.

I also agree with some others: Breaking Bad is one incredible show, and as much as I love Dexter, I have to admit the acting, cinematography, storyline, pacing, and emotions in Breaking Bad are superior to any current show on television.

  3. I saw the Emmys highlights last night and Ten omitted all the mini-series and telemovie awards, which of course included The Pacific’s win in best mini-series and Al Pacino’s long acceptance speech. With Eleven starting next year, Ten should show a full replay of the Emmys on the new digital channel in primetime.

  4. TEN edited the coverage for it’s own shows, that was clear with the red carpet opening, I didn’t watch it all on TEN but I noticed sever bits that were edited. Like with Matthew and Lauren they announced Betty White and Neil Patrick Harris’ wins but this was completely cut on TEN.

Seriously what is the point, do we know if TEN only had rights to the edited version, or did they do the editing? Why couldn’t they just have it run until 2am since Letterman was a re-run anyway!

This is yet another reason people are pissed off with FTA. You would hope next year with more channels someone can show it on FTA live and unedited in the morning, then show highlights later that night.

  5. @Casey

Yes the Pacific disappointed. Basically in every area except production value The Pacific Failed where Band of Brother Excelled. It was a shame, I think it’s a case of, the narratives they chose to follow just didn’t lead to great TV. Well there was a lot of good stuff but not enough to justify the long run. In the end it was either dragging things out, or too much of the same.

Oh BTW anyone, what was Moonshot??? In Tv movies of the Moon? Was it like the brillian From The Earth To The Moon but just Apollo 11 or what? Huge film TV, Space Nerd never heard of it. Even have foxtel full package and never heard of it when it was on that. Although Apollo 11 was the least interesting in the context of moon landings except for the fact no one knew it could be done.

  6. @nicholasg Top Chef and Iron Chef are not the same show. Iron Chef aired in the US and now there is Iron Chef America. Top Chef follows the format of Project Runway, which was remade in Australia as Project Runway Australia.

  7. So happy for Jim Parsons ~ Sheldon /from TBBT.
Had hoped that Curb Your Enthusiasm would win Outstanding Comedy.
this season was great with the seinfeld gang back.
Tho Modern Family is a good show.

  8. Watching the TEN Emmy Coverage and they have obviously edited the Red Carpet and pre-event coverage to just include mostly TEN shows Glee and Modern Family, but now there is 90 minutes to show 3 hours of coverage Fox8 had on 12 hours ago, I see lots of edits coming up!

  9. Was looking forward to watching the Emmy’s in HD, but it didn’t record.
Pretty disappointing Foxtel…why would they change the program schedule knowing that it would stuff up everyone’s IQ recording?
