George Michael to get Glee treatment

Minor Spoiler: Glee finds a little bit of Faith and plans to tackle George Michael's songs in Season Two and Britney is due for a cameo.

Minor Spoiler: Madonna, Lady Gaga and now George Michael…

Acording to reports, Glee is set to tackle the British pop star’s songs in the third episode of Season Two.

Sony is re-working his 1987 album Faith to be released worldwide in September to coincide with the show. The episode will see the students explore their ideas about faith and what God means to them, so it’s a pretty perfect fit (even if Eli Stone kinda got there first).

Creator Ryan Murphy says the series will see tributes to Britney Spears and Sir Paul McCartney.

Meanwhile media is spending a lot of time asking cast members if they would like to do a Michael Jackson-themed episode.

“That would be pretty cool,” Matthew Morrison (aka Will Schuester) said.

“He is probably the best and most iconic performer in the history of music.”

Updated: Britney Spears is set to play a cameo role in an episode of TV musical comedy “Glee” that will be devoted to the pop star’s music, the show’s creator Ryan Murphy said on Tuesday. Murphy also sought to quash widespread rumors that he is working on a Michael Jackson-themed episode in February that will be broadcast immediately after the 2011 Super Bowl — the biggest annual TV event in the United States.

  1. Is it just me, or are these tribute episodes becoming a little … well… tiresome? One or two is fun, but it sounds like there are so many planned, every other episode will be a tribute!

  2. I’m glad that Glee is bringing another singing legend into it’s arms. According to EW.com, Ryan Murphy said “But today, creator Ryan Murphy said on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show that not only would the kids be singing her tunes, but the pop princess herself will be appearing on the episode. It’s a veritable pop culture explosion!”

However, I liked the remark about Eli Stone hitting the mark on religion before Glee. It was disappointing that the show didn’t go on longer.
