Lady Gaga has landed a record 13 nominations at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

Gaga, who was shut out of the big categories at the Grammy Awards, has seen “Bad Romance” and “Telephone” both nominated for Video of the Year, alongside B.o.B’s “Airplanes,” Florence + the Machine’s “Dog Days Are Over,” 30 Seconds to Mars’s “Kings and Queens” and “Not Afraid” by Eminem.

She’s also up for a further five awards for her collaboration with Beyonce on the clip for her single ‘Video Phone’.

Eminem’s eight nominations this year are the second-most by any artist this year. Teen singer Justin Bieber is nominated as ‘Best New Artist’ for his hit single ‘Baby’.

The Video Music Awards will be held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on September 12 and broadcast on MTV Australia Monday 13 September at 4:00pm.

  3. @BruceBanner I think that’s what Lady Gaga is trying to do, bring back the music videos that isn’t be generic like dancing in a club.

    I do recommend you watch her videos, I for one do not think they are just some “pop” music video. But it truly is a shame her Music is plain pop yet her image and mind is fjeijfkdjfkjdfiwjdksd. It is refreshing.

  4. I don’t think I’ve seen one of those nominated videos in full apart from Katy Perry… just goes to show how pointless these awards have become in the past decade. Either that, or I’ve gotten old and become immune to bland pop videos?
