Syfy in the US has renewed Eureka.
The quirky drama set in a Pacific Northwest town which is actually a secret community of geniuses, wins a 5th season.
“Eureka remains a steadfast performer for Syfy with its superb cast and perfect blend of drama, comedy and eye candy,” said Syfy’s Mark Stern. “Given what Jaime, Bruce and their entire team have done collectively to reinvent the show this year, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for season 5.”
Eureka also had a first-ever crossover episode in the US with Syfy’s Warehouse 13.
Meanwhile Lindsay Wagner (The Bionic Woman) has joined the cast of Warehouse 13, in a recurring role as the in-house doctor Vanessa Calder, a possible love interest for Artie (Saul Rubinek).
Both shows air in Australia on SciFi -without the “y.”

Ten aired season 3 of Eureka but from memory buried it post-midnight, with the start time depending on when Sports Tonight finished. The SciFi channel I think has only aired the first two seasons, but fingers crossed 3 & 4 are in the pipeline.
I know some didn’t like the change but I’m amazed their wasn’t some contract with the local SciFi to change.
FYI the crossover eps were loads of fun!
When are we going SyFy David?
Yes this is good news for Eureka fans, now if only FTA would air it, TEN has the rights right? Maybe on their 3rd channel?
Last I spoke to SciFi they had no immediate plans to switch. They were keeping an eye on how the US experience went.
Both shows are great. Hope they both make it to FTA one day
