Zsa Zsa Gabor to spend last days at home

Hollywood actress and socialite Zsa Zsa Gabor was given the last rites by a priest at the weekend and is to spend her final days at her Bel Air home after declining to undergo any more surgery.

Gabor, 93, sister of the late Eva Gabor (Green Acres), has been slipping in and out of consciousness after a series of setbacks following hip replacement surgery a month ago.

Doctors wanted to perform surgery on her liver that would give her a 50-50 chance survival rate, but Gabor and her husband, Frederick Prinz von Anhalt, decided she wanted to spend her final days at home.

She left a Los Angeles hospital on Monday and returned home.

The Hungarian-born beauty has appeared in more than 30 movies, and made several appearances on radio and television shows, predominantly in the 1950s and 1960s.

Her most recent TV role was in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1991.

Yes, she has had a long and illustrious life. She was a 20th century icon, and a simply gorgeous woman in her prime.

Poor old Zsa Zsa – she’s had a good life.

I must admit to not having seen her acting roles that much although I know from her memoirs and her colourful life she certainly did things her way!
